Given yesterday's announcement by Lou Piniella that Cliff Floyd won't play until at least 7-10 days into March, how much playing time will he actually get?
Will he start the year on the DL? Will he be healthy enough to hit and play half the time?
You decide. I'll have a game thread up later this morning.

Floyd
I'm going to wait until we see how healthy he is and such before making predictions.I think he will contribute and be valuable and worth the signing but not set the world on fire. Very valuable off the bench and some starts.
In my opinion the Cubs are better off with him than without him at worst he won't do anything for us.

Interesting
Did anyone else catch that little tidbit that with the new CBA the trainer is not allowed to give injury updates?kerrysotherwife - March 1, 2007

Floyd 2007
Start the season on the DL? Could we be that lucky?Cliff Floyd should be a part-time DH in the AL. He's 34, over-weight, and but five months removed from surgery on his Achilles tendon. I'm rooting for a rebirth, as is Jim Hendry, obviously, but I think the Cubs would have been better off bringing Moises Alou back. Seriously.
In keeping with my projection about Murton, I see Floyd playing his way onto the bench where he'll be this season's Phil Nevin.

Well
I guess you have time to respond, seeing that you will be sitting the first 7 games or so.wild bill - March 1, 2007
Here's mine
Looks like I'm being a little more generous with playing time and at-bats than most but I think being on a new team and his desire to play in Chicago will bring a little more out of him than maybe we expect. I do think there will be an injury at some point though, hope not but I'd bet it's likely. Let's hope the foot holds up. C'mon Cliff, show us you've got something left and we won't be upset about you taking away playing time from Orange Guy.Ab's 300

He will get the bulk of his playing time versus RHP and in the 2nd Half after Jones, Izturis, and Veal or Gallagher is traded to Baltimore in a blockbuster deal landing Tejada.
