Bleed Cubbie Blue

Ready For The Season Yet?

I don't think anyone posted these yet, and I just got mine today when I got home from Arizona... so here are some of the season tickets and the pictures on them (way better than last year's).

There's one more ticket photo that I couldn't get into the scanner -- it's kind of a determined-face Lou Piniella photo.

I'm ready. Are you?

YEP!

who's that on the 3rd ticket? I can't tell...

The One and only

Z!

Which is it?

looks too small to be Z but it's for sure a Z move to jump like that. Dont know why they'd have A-Ram Soriano and Lee without having Z

It's Z alright.

By the by, thought the pic of Sori was Mr. Cub himself at first.

That smile...

...is my favorite part of watching Soriano. He always seems happy to be playing.

Marmol!

I'm with you

I think the third ticket is Marmol

I'm looking at the actual ticket right now.

It's Z.

More beautiful than a stack of cash.

Doesnt really matter

but why are they printed right to left?

I guess it's so when you just peel them out of the book as you use them the games you'll use first are on the right since they are stapled along the left-hand side.

dang

i'm so jealous.

You're my hero

Love it!

W

for opening day is cool.

I love those.

All the pix are way better than last year's.

Didt

the ones last year have little copper medallions of past plaers?

Yes.

Or they SAID they looked like past players, but none of them really did.

And they spelled Gabby Hartnett's name wrong ("Gaby").

I find it appropriate that...

...Soriano's on the more expensive, weekend ticket.

I hope we get what we pay for this year.

Woah

I am READY for this season to start. But I am MORE ready for some nice weather here in Chicago. Going to a game next week is going to be a blast. But GOOD GOD, MAN, can we please get a break from this crap?!?!?!

Weather looks good around the 9th

I guess...

I can't complain about 45-50 and sunny next weekend. It's always hard around this time of year, because you KNOW how good life can be on a 60-70 degree day at the ballpark.

When they're on the road, of course.

n/t

We had that weather yesterday in Iowa, but it's sunny now...

... hope for the best for Monday!

I agree. I will happy to go from hearing about the 100 inches of snow.. to not having won in a 100 years!

I have a question

I bought a bunch of games when they went on sale and for 2 of the games i thought it would be a good idea to have the tickets mailed to me. And I have yet to receive them. I dont compeletly trust my mail person. So does any one have any idea on when i would be getting the tickets? Or know how I would go about finding that information?

Call 1800 THE CUBS

Dont be worried yet unless you are talking about games this coming week. Have your confrimation and credit card info handy.

Did you get

the 9 game package? those ship from California, not the Cubbies.

nope got the games

single purshases from cubs.com Im not worried to much, the games are june 1st and and some time in may. all my other games i just printed the tickets

They come in spurts

n/t

yep

I dont think they have all games printed so you should get them a week or so before the game day.

Anything from cubs.com...

... is sent from tickets.com. Call customer service as suggested above.

for future reference -

unless you want the actual tickets as a memento, IMHO having them emailed to you and printing them out is by far the most reliable way to get your tickets.

Personally...

... if I were buying single game tix I think I'd make them will-call. I guess I just like having "hard" tickets rather than printouts.

Unless

you are going to a game at miller. I made that mistake last year and waited in line for an hour.

Hint.

If you order multiple games and leave them all at will-call, you can pick them ALL up ANYTIME the box office is open, even on an off-day.

So...

Can we expect to see a new page of ticket images every five games?

They're usually the same images

Over and over again.

This year's are much better than last year's pukefests.

Nice Avatar Icon

Wonder where you got that from? ;)

YES!

Too funny...

I read your signature as a response to your comment.

OT: New Addition To the BCB Community

Hey All!

My wife and I brought our daughter into the world this morning at 6:48am! Jordyn weighed in at 9 lbs 13 oz. and 20" long!

I'm not biased -- she's gorgeous. She winked at me around 6:52am as if to say, "Hey Dad, this is the year!" ;-)

Although I haven't been here long (Approx. 6 months), I enjoy being a part of the BCB family.

Thanks to all, and a special thanks to Al for bringing us all together!

Congratulations

Never too soon to get them hooked on the Cubs.

Congrats!!!

Hope mother and daugher are well!

Great news!

Congrats to you and your family!

Congratulations!

What a great daughter! Came early enough so that you didn't have to worry about Opening Day!

Congratulations to initram and Mrs. Initram and daughter!

Glad to have another Cubs fan in the world!

Congrats!!!

n/t

Congratualtions to

you and your wife on your daughter. I wish you all the best.

My fiancee had our daugther two years ago. I wasn't on this board yet to post, though. Anyway...

This season is my last chance to bring her to a Cub game for free! I'll have to scour ebay for a couple tix for her parents.

I took my son when he was about 5 months old

One grumpy usher told us it was too cold to have him there.

countless people, from the ticket taker until we left, made jokes about child abuse by turning him into a cubs fan. That was 2005, though, so probably appropriate.

There's nothing like

Taking your kid to their first ballgame. Here is Chloe and I last year...

That hat is awesome

do you know where you got it? Being in northern michigan, infants wear hats for a long part of each year

Mine will be

three months old for her first cubs game. She is due June 25th and we are going to the Sept. 28th game at miller park. I am excited to take her.

Got it as a gift

But the Cubs shop has quite a few nice options.

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

I'm glad babies have Cubs gear to wear now. There wasn't much available when I was little. My younger brother had better luck - though his godfather, a White Sox fan, gave him a little WS windbreaker at his christening. We have a great pic of my Mom holding it with this disgusted look on her face.

Anyway! Cute kid!

Ha, cute kid

Although you can see it her eyes. "A Cub fan Dad, REALLY!!!...Why couldnt I have been born in NY"

Cute kid, and I assume the bib is for when Dempster pitches.

LOL

I assume the bib is for when Dempster pitches.

Awwww, she's

adorable.

Congrats, initram

blessed be!

What a wonderful way to celebrate the new season, with a new little Cubs fan in the world. Congratulations!

Mailed Tickets

For what it's worth -- I just received my bleacher tickets for May 10 against Arizona. That's about 6 weeks in advance of the game. The rest of my tickets are for games after that.
So I would think 6 weeks is a good benchmark.

Been ready

Been ready since the last out of the NLDS.

Listening to some Terry Cashman right now.

I'm ready for real games...

...the last couple weeks of ST are always the most boring time for me, and I am looking forward to games that matter and how players respond to that.

I have a feeling, this is going to be a year with a lot of twists and turns that are always what you least expect.

Pretty much like every year, right?

n/t

Crazy year you say?

....Murton shaves his head and has a gold glove year at 2nd!

Oh and America votes to give Bush a third term...

Cool looking tickets.

I'm so ready for the season....

Even if its 10 below zero and a blizzard, there is nothing like the warmth of Wrigley buzzing with the excitement and hope of another season getting under way. I was at Opening Day 2003 (my only one to date). Perhaps I'm a good luck charm, so I will be making me way up I-55 to give Wrigley Field, its players and of course, the fans, a proper Irish blessing. I will post the blessing later. It's taking me a wee bit longer to compose than most. I guess that's just how anxious we all are to get this year going. So much for getting any sleep this weekend. Or eating a decent meal. Or being productive in any sense of the word.

This post made ME feel like baseball.

Well said.

Skillet head

says high of 60 on Monday, but rain late.

As long as "late"...

... means "after the game", that'd be just fine.

That'd be nice!

But I'm still bringing the cheesey poncho

Im so excited, not like Jesse Spano but excited

Sorry obscure reference.

She was pretty hopped up

I think she was at Canseco's party back in the day

From the Obscure file....

n/t

"I'm so, I'm so, SCARED!"

Thanks

I was waiting for that.

Classic episode...

The Hot Fudge Sundaes!

I am so jealous

The only game I am certainly going to at this point is the very last game of the season at Miller Park.

At which, hopefully,

you won't see any starters, as they are getting an additional day of rest to get ready for the playoffs

I

was excited about the game until you had to go and say that, thanx :).

ok, fine,

you can enjoy the playoff atmosphere a game early and see the cubs clinch over the Brewers on the final day of the season

Thank you

I feel better now :)

SEE YOU THERE

I'll be there too

I propose I BCB get together

How about at Patowotomi?

Well not really

definitely excited

i am unexpectedly going to be in chicago in a couple of weeks and i am now going to be at the april 6th game! i can't wait. i haven't been to wrigley since 05 and i am stoked!

So excited

I'll be in the bleachers for the Sunday game against the Astros with my girlfriend and her father (both Houston fans). Then down to Texas for their opener against the Cards.

Awesome!

Im so jealous of u guys. Make us real cubs fans proud. College, Flying lessons, all those bills just dont cut it for a 19 yr old. Ill prob try and buy a couple of tickets whenever i have extra change. Go Cubs!

Flying lessons?

n/t

Yea man

Trying to get my private pilot license, and then hopefulyl in the future become a airline pilot.

Then i can get veteran status and pick my flights according to where the cubs r playing. Yes i have this well planned out.

Cool!

Excellent advance planning.

Yea

Its a life goal, and everytime i look at it, its so worth it.

ha!

are you old enough to drive? I thought I read somewhere you wre 16.

Thats pretty awesome getting a pilots lic.

lol yea

Im 19, dunno if someone thinks im 16. I thought i posted better then that.

I'm jealous

of everyone being able to go to a game this year at Wrigley. My nephew is gettng married in Sept. and he picked a date when the Cubs are not in town. I complained to him but I'm only the uncle. He's marrying a very nice girl but guess what? She's a Sox fan. I told my nephew that the first thing you ask a girl you just meet is not her name but whether she is a Cubs fan or a Sox fan. Apparently her looks made him have a brain fart and he forgot to ask. This will be the first time I will be in Chicago and not see a Cubs game. Oh well, I'll just have to make another trip in October for the WS.

Unfortunately for people like me

The first thing I asked my girlfriend was "would you like a shot of tequila?" weve been together ever since.

When is the date?

Maybe you can stay after, or come earlier, and take in a game.

It's Sept. 6th

I'd have to come in earlier in the week. They are not home for a whole week after. Really can't afford to stay too long this time. :(

Came in early

last May for my other nephew's graduation but that was a Thursday game before the Cubs hit the road. That is when I met you outside the bleachers after the game.

Yes, I remember that.

Too bad you can't come a few days earlier. Enjoy the wedding.

Wrigley Is getting So Close

We went down to Wrigley today to pick up all our tickets. I've never been there this close to opening day. The score board is all ready with Monday's games posted. They were hanging the flags around the field. The sunflower seeds were arriving for the clubhouse. It was neat to see all the buzz! I'm so excited!!!

From Today

Glorious

Thanks for the pix.

I was going to take some today when driving by the ballpark. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera.

Lets have a great year

Will be in Chicago first weekend in August with the family, can not wait. Sure hope the Cubs are in first, and weather is fine.

Opening game

Cant wait for the home opener. The wait has been too long since the last game at Wrigley Field..just looking at some of these Wrigley Field pictures from this Chicago artist gets me going for the season to start.

ST

I agree about the last two weeks of ST. Boring. What's the point? Let's get going with the real season. Too bad it's got to be a workday.
