and we have a long way to go. But permit me one Cubs Fan moment here, and allow me to say that we have a chance this year. We REALLY have a chance this year. And that’s all I have to say about that. Everyone have a good night, and let’s get #10,001 tomorrow.
I said the same thing after the ESPN Gamecast said that A-Ram homered, then my girlfriend says “You say that every year, let’s wait at least until August.” That’s why I love her, but (knock on Wood) I think you’re right.
I don’t get CSN+ so I decide to see highlights on baseball tonight so see what I could only hear on radio. And in what was probably the most dramatic game of the day, they show a total of THREE plays, the least of every single highlight…. I mean, I’ve accepted that they give the Yankees about five minutes of highlights every day to drool over them, but they seriously made the Cubs’ dramatic game the shortest all of the game highlights… retarded
I went to bed in the eighth inning and was thinking that the Cubs could still come back because they are so hot and are so in synch with their offense. Ask me that two or three years ago and I would have said they were DONE
I was on the phone with my brother in California and we were watching the baseball package. He had the Cubs broadcast and I had the Rockies. He said Len & Bob was as excited as they could be while my guys were making excuses for the Rockies. Congrats Cubs for 10,000.
The Cubs had to come back twice to win it. A-Ram slammed the homer in the 9th to give the Cubs the lead. Wood blew the save in the 9th but did get the strikeout for the third out to get it to extras. Theriot gets the big hit to give the Cubs another lead in the top of the 10th, and Marmol notched the save in the bottom of the 10th. This was a great back and forth game between two good teams. They could meet up again in the NL playoffs.
Oddly enough… one of last year’s best was also vs the Rockies. When we blew a 5 run(?) lead in the top of the 9th… a fan ran onto the field and charged the mound after we blew it while Howry was pitching, and then we came back in the bottom half when Soriano, who was hitless all night long, hit a walk-off single.
I found this on Purple Row, thought it was too good especially after last night.
The Rockies have taken a lead into the 8th or 9th inning in each of the last three games, only to find a way to suffer a heartbreaking loss. Well, now you too can simulate the feeling at home without the aid of the Colorado Rockies! And here’s how:
Let's win this mess!!

Im growing
more and more each year and learning to accept it and expect nothign from ESPn.
Rudey - April 24, 2008
Too true
Apparently the Red Sox losing is more news-worthy than a dramatic extra-innings, lead-changing, 10,000th victory by the Cubs.
OT: John Kruk is an idiot.

Kerry blows a save – but gets the win! Guess he wanted his bullpen buddy Marmol to get it.

Great Tug of War Victory for the Cubs

Best game of the year so far?
A throughly enjoyable game. Great clutch hitting from both teams and the Cubs won. Best game so far to me.
