but I still don't see how we have vastly improved over last year. We still cannot hit period. We have two big huge holes in the form of Theriot and Pie in the lineup.
Was such a breath of fresh air last year because he would take pitches, steal bases, and play good fundamental baseball. All 3 of those concepts were non-existent during the Baker years'. Now that we have had a year to watch him, he is being exposed. I like the guy but he may not be starter material.
I like him, except for when he says things like "Kosuke Fukudome, wearing black batting gloves one on each hand, blue long sleeve shirt underneath a white pinstripe jersey with blue pinstripes blue socks blue shoes blue helmet blue letters outlined in red. The Cubs logo is a blue circle with Cubs written in Red..."
does NOT swing at the first pitch. Works it to 2-2, grounds it down the third base line, Wigginton's momentum carries him into foul ground. He keeps it, no throw. Runner at 1st, 1 out.
He actually took a pitch. I thought we were going to address this issue. It is not coincidental that the Red Sox have lead the league the last 2 years in walks (coupled with their success).
could ever get ejected from a game for arguing with an umpire? Would he get to call his interpreter out of the dugout to speak on his behalf? Just a funny thought.
The umpire would say "YOU'RE OUTTA HERE!" and make the throwing motion to the Interpreter, who would then repeat it in Japanese for Kosuke and "throw him out" with the motion too. THAT would be amusing.
a little surprising, I admit, but Soto hasn't been producing consistently this season; if they scouted him in ST, they know that, maybe they thought he was an easy out.
Grounds FAIR down the 3rd base line. Ramirez made no effort, thought it was foul. THE BALL GETS PAST SORIANO. Berkman scores. Tejada all the way to 3rd. Fans booing.
Because he's good? How much of that inning are you going to blame on Lieber? He got ground balls, what more do you want him to do? Sprint to 3B to field it?
Went with the pitch to the opposite field, well over Berkman's head, landed in shallow right inside the line, rolls to the fence, Pence picks it up, presses his butt against the padding on the wall for some reason, then threw it in.
(1) Soriano won't bat .067 all year. But he will probably
continue to get worse every year of his contract.
(2) The new bleedcubbieblue is lousy. Even with high speed internet and a new-ish PC, the site is sluggish, refreshes constantly and is less user-friendly than before. And on anything but the best computers, it is totally unusable. Bye folks.
it looks like every season we need some more time..why in the world every season we need more time? what in the world were we doing in the off season? I just don't want to be limping into the playoffs every season with a $125m dollar payroll.
Please read into what i am saying - is it safe to say that it is still early, and use the same wording for the Brewers who clearly know that there are 4 bases on the field and they like to touch them all (currently winning 13-2)
They are a good team - and you are right their manager might kill them - Other than that, their offensive production and pitching might be enough to overcome the errors.
of only having Johnson to back up the OF. You use Johnson early....then you use Ward and he has to go somewhere. So you have to move Soriano to 2nd to keep them all in the game. Having 8 reserve infielders does ya no good in that situation...
I still think that there is something more to Sori on 2nd.
It's more than what we think. Lou is pissed at something. Maybe he wants Sori back at 2nd. Maybe he's pissed at Dero. Maybe he's pissed at Sori. Dunno. It seems so sudden....
all, I'll apologize for the above post. I should noy have wasted the time. Truth be told, I do CAD drawing of engineer parts, and I spent 16 hours drafting the cab of a tractor, and server went down, and I lost the whole thing, as I was listening to the 7th inning. No excuse for it really, but I hope you could see my frustration. I would hope that you would have taken the time to atleast view more of my posts as I (with this as an exception) am knowledgable, and don't just post gibberish like above. I've been posting here for about 2 years now and would hope that you would refrain from using a plural when saying "comments" because I do think its a little strong. I'm sure if you took 5 minutes you'd find a profanity laced post, most likely more useless than the one above.
...deny it, but the first 4 people in the lineup today were hitting for less average than Pie before that last AB. It's obvious the team's starting off slow w/ the bats - no need to hate on individuals.
with his theatrics....but what makes me madder is lazy defense by Soriano...crappy hitting by our well paid vets....and just that same crappy feeling that we started last year with....at least our starters look pretty okay so far.....and all our Japanese hitters are hitting it well.....
and the thing that really drives people crazy, is his all or nothing approach at the plate. I don't think there's another player in the majors that is as hot and cold and inconsistent as Soriano.
I've probably been lurking for like 2 years but never felt the urge to comment until now. For some reason. I think it's just the whole, making the effort to have to register thing.
It's cold out there. I'm not making excuses. You're not going to win scoring 2 or three runs. You gotta put 5-6 runs on the board. You have to pitch awfully well and not make any mistakes when you only score 2-3.
Did you think that ball was foul?
"I asked the umpire, he said he saw it, it went right over the bag."
Rich pitched well?
"I thought he did, gave up 2 runs in 6 innings. He'll get better from this, but, yeah."
Sampson?
"You know, he was throwing strikes and getting ahead of the hitters. I don't think he walked a hitter, did he? Cool weather, throw strikes, locate the ball and you get a chance. That's what he did and he pitched well."
"Today, we've had two games where ... um ... shaky defense, but outside of that, it's cold out there, I'm not making excuses, but we'll get better. That's all I can say."
"We've gotta start scoring more runs. You're not going to win too often scoring 2 or 3 runs. You gotta put 5 or 6 on the board. I've said that many many times. You can't make any mistakes at all when you put 2 or 3 runs on the board."
Soriano?
(laughs) "He works hard, I don't know what happened on that, I saw the ball go down the line, umpire said it was over the bag, I've gotta believe him. Saw it go by the bullpen and lost sight of the ball. I don't know exactly what happened."
"Absolutely, I think the way spring training went - that's over with. To come out here and get on the aggressive track. Finished up spring training strong. I was pleased with the way I threw the ball. Next step is to get better and go from there."
WORRIED?
"There's no panic or anything like that. Just gotta keep going at it every day. Four games are behind us with the one win. We're gonna be fine. There's no issue with anything about dropping a couple games here early on."
but Milwaukee did help us out last season. I am not implying anything all i am doing is just saying. All in all as a fan i dont think we can be to happy with the production that is happening on the field. Yes it will probably change, but it is the same as last year. Think if we didnt sign Fukudome....we would still be shutout for the season.
I tend to agree -- we shouldn't be happy with it. On the other hand, we should recognize that it's early in the season and that the team isn't happy either. I don't think Aramis or Soriano are slacking it off; they're struggling.
And it bothers me that Cubs fans get on Soriano - We were all excited when we got him, and we all should have known that he could be one of the most streakiest hitters in all of MLB. He is streaking now. Badly.
Aramis will be fine, i am not worried about either one of them. I am worried about the pitching which ironically has been good so far.
why Lou wanted the player not to be mentioned. Alot of home games early, in the cold. We needed someone at the top to help manufacture runs. Didn't get him. Same slow start.
if you're going for broke. If this guy truely is the peice to the puzzle then I see no reason not to blow the load. I'm just not sure how imprtant a new '2nd baseman' will be in the long run. If there are problems late in the season and a trade needs to be made for a stud pitcher then the no trade for 2nd baseman guy looks like a gem.
I think we all would love to have a lineup similar to the Met's with a guy like Reyes up front... but that's not in the cards and this still gives us flexibility as the summer consumates.
Thank you for flying

smitster2008 - April 4, 2008
They would toss the interpreter
AC 00 00 00 - April 4, 2008
now THATS a funny thought
AC 00 00 00 - April 4, 2008
The umpire would say "YOU'RE OUTTA HERE!" and make the throwing motion to the Interpreter, who would then repeat it in Japanese for Kosuke and "throw him out" with the motion too. THAT would be amusing.

The Ryno and I Know - April 4, 2008
(1) Soriano; (2) BCB 2.0
(1) Soriano won't bat .067 all year. But he will probably
continue to get worse every year of his contract.
(2) The new bleedcubbieblue is lousy. Even with high speed internet and a new-ish PC, the site is sluggish, refreshes constantly and is less user-friendly than before. And on anything but the best computers, it is totally unusable. Bye folks.
ExNorthsider - April 4, 2008
whoa, it's the old me!

Is it your ex-girlfriend?

northsider - April 4, 2008
hahah
you only been here 3 weeks adn you're already winning awards! congrats!
Keystone80435 - April 4, 2008
technically, that's not a refresh
it's the code bringing up new content, but the page doesn't reload.
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
and if it didnt...you have to refresh CONSTANTLY
Keystone80435 - April 4, 2008
geezz
maybe you can donate some new servers to BCB? Its a free service....nothing to complain about.

Chanman25 - April 4, 2008
yes
you've transitioned to BCB 2.0 very smoothly. Bravo.
The Ryno and I Know - April 4, 2008
the start of this year feels like the end of the playoff series
with soriano and ramirez doing absolutely nothing
CubsBall2202 - April 4, 2008
define "nothing"
I don't doubt that they've both struggled. But Soriano has RBIs, and Ramirez is having good at bats, just bad outcomes.
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
well when they are a combined 4-28 or something i'd say that's very close to nothing
CubsBall2202 - April 4, 2008
it's not good.
How are the Tigers sluggers doing?
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
why in the world would you want to compare our mediocrity with someone else
and want to feel better??
cubsnlinux - April 4, 2008
I'm not.
I'm suggesting that it's entirely possible that we just need some more time, and we're not the only team that struggling.
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
but..but..that was my point..
it looks like every season we need some more time..why in the world every season we need more time? what in the world were we doing in the off season? I just don't want to be limping into the playoffs every season with a $125m dollar payroll.
cubsnlinux - April 4, 2008
Towles
Today: 1-for-2, HR, 2 RBI, HBP
Grounds to Soriano, 4-3, JUST got Towles.
northsider - April 4, 2008
Soooooo....
Please read into what i am saying - is it safe to say that it is still early, and use the same wording for the Brewers who clearly know that there are 4 bases on the field and they like to touch them all (currently winning 13-2)
HIGGY - April 4, 2008
against the bad news...
GIANTS, but good point anyway.
IowaCubs- - April 4, 2008
GIANTS right....
but dig down inside and ask yourself if we were playing the giants right now how many runs would we score?
HIGGY - April 4, 2008
id say 5 and it would be considered an offensive explosion
CubsBall2202 - April 4, 2008
2-3 would be more likely right now.
buckmulligan - April 4, 2008
17, but only because I'm good at guessing
IowaCubs- - April 4, 2008
giving up 3?
HIGGY - April 4, 2008
The Brewers look really dangerous.
We'll see how it plays out; they have a bad manager, a suspect defense, but they have a great offense.
buckmulligan - April 4, 2008
Yes they are...
They are a good team - and you are right their manager might kill them - Other than that, their offensive production and pitching might be enough to overcome the errors.
HIGGY - April 4, 2008
Just finished my gyros
What'd I miss?

AC 00 00 00 - April 4, 2008

Darin Erstad
Pops out to Pie in CF. 2 outs after Erstad's flyout.
northsider - April 4, 2008
Here is a perfect example
of only having Johnson to back up the OF. You use Johnson early....then you use Ward and he has to go somewhere. So you have to move Soriano to 2nd to keep them all in the game. Having 8 reserve infielders does ya no good in that situation...
Keystone80435 - April 4, 2008
thank you for explaining the switch...
instead of "WTF Soriano to 2B???"
bap - April 4, 2008
bap
that is just my GUESS of how it went down. Not sure if thats really what happened.
Keystone80435 - April 4, 2008
if you have Ward Johnson and another outfielder
you can pull the double switch and not have to move Soriano to 2nd base....

I actually think this is worth a shot
cubsonWGN4ever - April 4, 2008
I still think that there is something more to Sori on 2nd.
It's more than what we think. Lou is pissed at something. Maybe he wants Sori back at 2nd. Maybe he's pissed at Dero. Maybe he's pissed at Sori. Dunno. It seems so sudden....
zevkalman - April 4, 2008
Aghhh no
youre wrong.
Hammer - April 4, 2008
why would he be mad at DeRo?
for one error?
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
DERO is at 3rd. So Lou can yell at him louder
Hammer - April 4, 2008
Ramirez
I think it's two things:
1) Lou wanted to keep Ward in the lineup
2) Ramirez would have been the 9th to bat
and possibly:
3) Lou wasn't happy with Ramirez' lack of effort

drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
First of
all, I'll apologize for the above post.
TCobb1911 - April 4, 2008
I say we should change the line-up for tomorrow:

Keystone80435 - April 4, 2008

the fact that Pie is absolutely helpless at the plate right now. that is not the same as "giving up on him"- but he has nothing
neifi - April 4, 2008
what are you TALKING about?
Before today's game, he had the third best AVG on the team!
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
and he lead the team in strikeouts as well.
HIGGY - April 4, 2008
Helpless?
I don't know about that. But then again, anyone named Neifi knows hitting like the backside of his own hand!
northsider - April 4, 2008
You can't...
...deny it, but the first 4 people in the lineup today were hitting for less average than Pie before that last AB. It's obvious the team's starting off slow w/ the bats - no need to hate on individuals.
Shawon O Meter - April 4, 2008
why
is saying that someone looks uncomfortable while they are at bat so inflammatory?
it's not HATE
neifi - April 4, 2008
"helpless", which is what you said, and uncomfortable are not the same thing

true, the starting pitching has been the bright spot so far, which is good to see
negatives have been: offense, defense, but the bullpen is not at fault today, that was soriano and dero's defense in the 8th
CubsBall2202 - April 4, 2008
It's touch to win when...
your three big boppers are hitting
.059 (Soriano)
.222(Lee)
.154 (Ramirez)
digitalbenjamin - April 4, 2008
october 07 redux
CubsBall2202 - April 4, 2008
Makes for a week start of the lineup,
which is part of the reason the Cubs keep trailing early.
buckmulligan - April 4, 2008
*weak
buckmulligan - April 4, 2008
yes, maybe if we can get the heart rolling...
Dome will be in RBI opps more.
bap - April 4, 2008
Lou's post-game
If Lou has any choice post-game remarks, could someone please post them?
John Q Freejazz - April 4, 2008
I'll try to rush-transcript like I did with the Jim Hendry interview.
northsider - April 4, 2008
would love to see that
cubsonWGN4ever - April 4, 2008
Game over.
W: Wright (1-0)
L: Lieber (0-1)
S: Valverde (1)
Tejada: 2-for-4, 2B, 3B, RBI, R, K
northsider - April 4, 2008
Tejada
would have looked good in Cubbie Blue
wicubfan - April 4, 2008
Nope. People would be saying the same things about him as they do Soriano.
northsider - April 4, 2008
Yeahbut...
...the team'd get a quantity discount on vitamin B shots...
Shawon O Meter - April 4, 2008
lol
northsider - April 4, 2008
I still think his body will break down this year
N Oakley - April 4, 2008
Maybe, but the main problem with Soriano,
and the thing that really drives people crazy, is his all or nothing approach at the plate. I don't think there's another player in the majors that is as hot and cold and inconsistent as Soriano.
buckmulligan - April 4, 2008
Thanks again northsider...
great work... we'll get them tomorrow!
bap - April 4, 2008
Thanks! Despite me being the worst person here (or whatever award I won)
northsider - April 4, 2008
???
bap - April 4, 2008
that wasn't you
that was the other guy. Wasn't it?
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
Nope:
ExNorthsider: "when posting a comment it refreshes with each comment added while you are typing your new comment"
northsider: "oh hi, i thought you were leaving?'
exnorthsider: "wow you've been a member of the site for 3 weeks and you're already the biggest jerk here. congratulations. have fun this year."
northsider: "anyway, you basically said 'this site sucks now, bye' yet you're still here to complain? what?"
northsider - April 4, 2008
well, frankly
I applied the comment to the other guy. I think it's him, not you.
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
No!! Don't take away my award!!!
northsider - April 4, 2008
I just looked at your profile..
we joined on the same day... eeery
bap - April 4, 2008
We are brethren.
northsider - April 4, 2008
LOL
BCB pledge brothers.
bap - April 4, 2008
Me too
same day... BCB pledge brothers haha
Keystone80435 - April 4, 2008
prob because of the new format change
Hammer - April 4, 2008
I've probably been lurking for like 2 years but never felt the urge to comment until now. For some reason. I think it's just the whole, making the effort to have to register thing.
northsider - April 4, 2008
Yeah..
you're right... but I had only registered a few days before that.
bap - April 4, 2008
Same here
just lurking for a few months and didnt partake until the 17th
Keystone80435 - April 4, 2008
OK
So it's official... we're the BCB triad. BCB's first pledge class.
bap - April 4, 2008
Shhhh, or we'll get hazed!
northsider - April 4, 2008
No doubt! We'll have to run Jimmy Johns to the left field corner for the BCB crew at games!
Keystone80435 - April 4, 2008
The three Amigos?
sue369 - April 4, 2008
not bad.... not bad
Keystone80435 - April 4, 2008
Complete with the dance.
northsider - April 4, 2008
I did always look pretty good in a sombrero. Where are you other two at? Maybe we could go to a game wearing sombreros to make it official.
Keystone80435 - April 4, 2008
(I call Steve Martin's role)
I attend Northwestern, so, just a purple line and a transfer away.
northsider - April 4, 2008
Good thing
I didn't say "Three men in a tub". :D
sue369 - April 4, 2008
haha, good thing indeed!
northsider - April 4, 2008
well, if you WANT it...
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
LOL
that's funny.
bap - April 4, 2008
Theriot or Tejada
pretty easy call in my book. Even given the enhancers..
wicubfan - April 4, 2008
So Oswalt Vs Marquis
I'll be in Left field tomorrow.....I'm hoping for a miracle
Walker71421 - April 4, 2008
Kind of like a David Hasselhoff
Miracle of Love?
NittanyCub - April 4, 2008
Exactly like the Hoff....chest hair and drunken Wendy's eating too haha
Walker71421 - April 4, 2008
another comment coming from lou about the cold
CubsBall2202 - April 4, 2008
Lou Says:
It's cold out there. I'm not making excuses. You're not going to win scoring 2 or three runs. You gotta put 5-6 runs on the board. You have to pitch awfully well and not make any mistakes when you only score 2-3.
We will get better.
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
Lou Piniella
That's it, Comcast cut away.
northsider - April 4, 2008
Thanks
John Q Freejazz - April 4, 2008
such crap...the other team is playing in the same weather
DC Cubbie - April 4, 2008
But one isn't from the topical weather of the DR
which is the what Cubs' left fielder is from, if I remember
NittanyCub - April 4, 2008
and the center fielder too, eh?
Al talked about this at the game on the 2nd. these guys don't really see winter...
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
Oh jeeze, yeah
Totally forgot about Pie as well.
I mean, it can't be the main reason for Soriano's poor BA thus far, but I'm pretty sure it's a good factor to him doing bad, and for Pie as well.
NittanyCub - April 4, 2008
well I guess
even if we make the playoffs we are screwed, October in Chicago can be nasty.
DC Cubbie - April 4, 2008
Double-switch
was because Fontenot had a bad back today.
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
thank you.
bap - April 4, 2008
what happened to keeping Z on the mound every
5 days...I am fine with skipping over marquis as much as humanly possible
DC Cubbie - April 4, 2008
isn't that
every five GAMES?
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
he's saying
Z should pitch on 4 DAYS rest regardless of how many games there were given that he's a better option than others.
neifi - April 4, 2008
ok
I don't know then.
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
exactly we did this at the beginning of last year I believe
DC Cubbie - April 4, 2008
agreed.
buckmulligan - April 4, 2008
Im surprised
there arent 15 new diaries yet.
Hammer - April 4, 2008
Dan Plesac
kinda blamed the Soriano play on the fact that it's a "fast field"
Is he fukking kidding!!
unbelievable!!
plenz - April 4, 2008
Rich Hill
"Absolutely, I think the way spring training went - that's over with. To come out here and get on the aggressive track. Finished up spring training strong. I was pleased with the way I threw the ball. Next step is to get better and go from there."
WORRIED?
"There's no panic or anything like that. Just gotta keep going at it every day. Four games are behind us with the one win. We're gonna be fine. There's no issue with anything about dropping a couple games here early on."
northsider - April 4, 2008
If the Cubs don't turn this thing around quickly,
they are going to once again have a big deficit to overcome. And that sucks.
buckmulligan - April 4, 2008
Dude
the Cubs didn't really turn it around last year until JUNE. We're not even done with Opening Week yet! Don't get yourself down!
northsider - April 4, 2008
Aren't you sick of having to wait around year after to year
for the team to start playing good baseball. It's one thing to lose; it's another to play sloppy baseball.
buckmulligan - April 4, 2008
Of course, but if the tradeoff is 4-5 months of truly excellent baseball, I'm willing to put up with it.
northsider - April 4, 2008
Id rather start off slowly and finsih strong
and win the division by two games again
Hammer - April 4, 2008
i agree with you...
but Milwaukee did help us out last season. I am not implying anything all i am doing is just saying. All in all as a fan i dont think we can be to happy with the production that is happening on the field. Yes it will probably change, but it is the same as last year. Think if we didnt sign Fukudome....we would still be shutout for the season.
HIGGY - April 4, 2008
has Fukudome
actually won a game for us?
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
um no...
i never stated that. But he has been the only consistent offense so far.
HIGGY - April 4, 2008
ok
fair enough.
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
and by the way
I tend to agree -- we shouldn't be happy with it. On the other hand, we should recognize that it's early in the season and that the team isn't happy either. I don't think Aramis or Soriano are slacking it off; they're struggling.
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
I agree
And it bothers me that Cubs fans get on Soriano - We were all excited when we got him, and we all should have known that he could be one of the most streakiest hitters in all of MLB. He is streaking now. Badly.
Aramis will be fine, i am not worried about either one of them. I am worried about the pitching which ironically has been good so far.
HIGGY - April 4, 2008
I'll be more comfortable
if I see Marquis pitch well tomorrow.
If he does, ironically, it'll be Uncle Ted who has the most to prove. Whodathunkit that Ryan Demptster would be the one Cub pitcher with a W.
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
yea, the slow start crap has to end....especially with schedule front loaded with home games.
JB 23 - April 4, 2008
0-2 in 1-run games
For those of you keeping track at home, the Cubbies are 0-2 in one-run games this year...and counting. :-)
John Q Freejazz - April 4, 2008
OMG WE'RE SO SCREWED NO PLAYOFFS FOR US SORIANO SUXXXXXXXXXXXXX
northsider - April 4, 2008
HAH
just stop... please.... no more.... can't take it.
bap - April 4, 2008
Soto..
looking good at the plate if not getting results. Thats encouraging
wicubfan - April 4, 2008
yeah...
seems like he's putting some real nice AB's together.
bap - April 4, 2008
The Cold
I know it's just an excuse but it seems to be legitimate to me. This team never hits in April and I think the cold has a lot to do with it.
Kornchex - April 4, 2008
But it didnt affect...
Milwaukee for the two games they one, and HOUSTON for todays game! Our players think about it too much, opposing teams come in and jsut play.
HIGGY - April 4, 2008
Box Score for Cubs Starters
Sori 0-for-4
Theriot: 1-for-4
Lee: 1-for-4
Ramirez: 1-for-4, R, K
Fukudome: 2-for-4, R
DeRosa: 2-for-4, HR, RBI, R, E
Soto: 1-for-4, 2 RBI
Pie: 0-for-4
Hill: 0-for-1, K
northsider - April 4, 2008
so DeRosa
was the most productive member of the team.
No error on Sori? Huh.
drewishdrewid - April 4, 2008
nope, they ruled it a triple
northsider - April 4, 2008
Please Cub fans STOP
Hammer - April 4, 2008
But Soriano is soo bad!!!!
It's already been 4 games WHEN IS HE GONNA TURN IT AROUND?!?!
136 PLAYOFFS ARIZONA!!!!
NittanyCub - April 4, 2008
Everybody back on the ledge
Me I have to go off to a film screening so grateful for no
extra innings. Hmm the SI curse is already working on the Cubs
& Tigers
Doggie Stalker - April 4, 2008
Once Again
poor run support for Hill.
digitalbenjamin - April 4, 2008
This is exactly
why Lou wanted the player not to be mentioned. Alot of home games early, in the cold. We needed someone at the top to help manufacture runs. Didn't get him. Same slow start.
Rick B. - April 4, 2008
you can't give up your whole farm system...
for a player who at best is an upper echelon leadoff guy who has seen better days (steriods).
bap - April 4, 2008
You can
if you're going for broke.
Keystone80435 - April 4, 2008
precisely.
I think we all would love to have a lineup similar to the Met's with a guy like Reyes up front... but that's not in the cards and this still gives us flexibility as the summer consumates.
bap - April 4, 2008
Rich Hill
Damn, Hill deserved a much better fate.. Where's the offense
