but I don't mind seeing an occasional airmail throw from a fielder trying to make a great play. I'd rather see a guy be aggressive and make mistakes than playing passively and not making any plays. Ramy's error was really the bad one that inning.
Home runs don't always win games. To be a good team, you have to be able to hit in all kinds of situations. Sacrifice Flies, Sacrifice Bunts, hit to the right side of the infield, etc. That is something that this team is terrible at...until that happens we are medicore
last year CBS switched from NHL playoffs to the preshow for a horse race becuase there were under 500,000 people tuned into the hockey game. I'll bet half the hockey stadium is empty too.
but the fact its the opposing team mascot is crap. Even if wood isnt paying attention a giant fly green thing moving in the corner of your eye is distracting to anyone.
Its a giant oversized bright green suit. Remeber last year when the fam behind the plate in AZ had the flashign Cubs clock and got escorted away? Thats what I would equate this DAMN PARROT to. Using something beyond normal gear allowed into a stadium to distract the players. It just seems like an unfair advantage for the home team mascot to be behind the plate. But for all I know the s.o.b. will get a raise. You notice both time that DAMN parrot was doing it the pitcher on the mound gave up a game tie'ing Home Run......
if a fan was standing in the isle like the parrot was and the fan was waving a poncho or sign, security would remove the fan from the isle. If a fan cant do it then why should the home team mascot be able to. At this point.... WHO CARES! F ' THE PARROT CUBS WIN!!
seen batters call time a number of times becuase people at wrigley get in the batters eye with white shirts on. It can effect the outcome of a pitch. If it was a fan being an ass then I wouldnt care. For all I know Wood didnt see it and he sure as heck wouldnt admit it. But it just pissed me off, thats all.
...to pass Lou a note and remind him that he only has five bench players. I hate going to extras with no position players left on the bench besides Hank White.
...as Baseball-Reference.com has added a bunch of new splits, including how well a player does bunting. Soriano has something like 17 bunt attempts in his career, with 3 hits and 2 Reach On Errors. If you think he can continue that, having him bunt is probably a pretty good idea - his OBP would be right around where it's at from having him swing away.
The spot beams they use to carry the HD feeds for the regional sports networks don't have as much bandwidth, and so I doubt they have an HD alternate for the RSNs.
Sorry, I just got home. Pulled up Gameday and I see the Cubs have 25 runners left on base tonight...Is that accurate? Is it some sort of mistake on gameday?? I can't believe it...I know the Cubs have always been notorious for leaving ducks on but...wow.
...67 for strikes. Looks like he threw very well, but i'm just looking at stats. I'm concerned with Ronny's E in the 8th, did that lead to anything? I'm sorry for bringing it up again, but I just tuned in.
Can i?
Get a update? Likehow is everyone before i need to go to my next class?
Appreciate it alot guys.

Ronny with a walk
I'm shocked. As much of a Ronny hater I am, I can't complain one bit about him so far. I hope he doesn't do anything to change my mind :)
ak123 - April 9, 2008
Ronny has done some good things
the last two games. Granted, he's no Einstein, but he's actually reaching base.
DeRoMyHero - April 9, 2008
Not to get into a debate

Got to see DLee's catch already.
DeRoMyHero - April 9, 2008

Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008

sanantonecub - April 9, 2008

Care to list the contents of said kingdom?
BlueSox - April 9, 2008
Not that much in said kingdom
sanantonecub - April 9, 2008
C'mon, Kerry
Lights out.
BlueSox - April 9, 2008
Gametime fellas
lets get some outs
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
Lets get Dempster the win
he truly deserves it
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
Come on Kerry!
Demp wants to go see the hockey game, and he deserves a night of fun.
bluebythebook - April 9, 2008
Cue Thunderstruck...
Wood time
CubsBullsBears - April 9, 2008
3 K's
would be oh so sweet.
Bump Bailey - April 9, 2008
here we go
another one run lead save chance for woody
Chanman25 - April 9, 2008
Don't expect it to last, but
Pie is hitting .176, Sori .135.
DeRoMyHero - April 9, 2008
Well at least they're both over the Soriano line... ;-)
ballhawk - April 9, 2008
Huh???
That first ball was a strike I thought?
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
No radar tonight?
CubsBullsBears - April 9, 2008
gameday has three fastballs at 95
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
Tie game. Fuk
Itchy - April 9, 2008
CEDEONOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
BaY HR
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
dammit
sue369 - April 9, 2008
Is dammit higher or lower than
Cedeno on the scale?
LT - April 9, 2008
I'm trying
new material. ;-)
sue369 - April 9, 2008
Cedeno!
LT - April 9, 2008
oh man
Bump Bailey - April 9, 2008
Damn...
I feel bad for Demp, he pitched a hell of a game
CubsBullsBears - April 9, 2008
Me too
and I have Demp in my fantasy league. Suxxxxx
LT - April 9, 2008
oh shit
Bay HR. Tie game. 2-2
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
Well sorry Demp.
Gator Cub - April 9, 2008
CEDENO.
CEDENO. CEDENO. CEDENO. CEDENO. CEDENO. CEDENO. CEDENO. CEDENO. CEDENO. CEDENO. CEDENO. CEDENO. CEDENO. CEDENO. CEDENO. CEDENO. CEDENO. CEDENO.
bluebythebook - April 9, 2008
fuck
we are screwed for extras now...
Chanman25 - April 9, 2008
easy there big fella
ballhawk - April 9, 2008
MEAT right down the middle
Crap
Itchy - April 9, 2008
damn
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
Thats BULLSHOES!
The Pirates mascot SHOULD NOT be able to sit behind the plate in the stands and distract the opposing pitcher.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
Agreed.
What a dick
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
actually, I think it's a parrot...
ballhawk - April 9, 2008
A fan moving and waving is one thing. Waving a sign or whatever. BUT a Pitt Pirate employee purposefully distracting is bull
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
I wish the net wasn't there
because I would loooove to see a "wild pitch" "accidentally" hit him.
bluebythebook - April 9, 2008
That is EXACTLY
what I was thinking.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
You think...
A 7 foot bright green parrot is distracting? *sarcasm*
CubsBullsBears - April 9, 2008
alright lets just get out of this inning
please
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
Disappointing for 3 reasons
1. now we get extra innings at best
2. poor Demp
3. the inevitable Mariotti column
...
Gator Cub - April 9, 2008
i agree
cedeno marriotti
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
Wow
Did that really just happen?
Cribbs463 - April 9, 2008
Demp
deserved better
Bump Bailey - April 9, 2008
I'm pissed
That parot mascot shouldnt be able to do what he's doing.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
Maybe he shouldn't
but you don't really think he's actually distracting Wood do you?
Gator Cub - April 9, 2008
maybe not
but the fact its the opposing team mascot is crap. Even if wood isnt paying attention a giant fly green thing moving in the corner of your eye is distracting to anyone.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
Doing it in the pitchers line of sight is BS.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
It's the same as
Santo coming down fromt he booth at a Cub game and waving a leg at at pitcher from the front row behind the plate.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
that's a visual
I can't get out of my head.
sue369 - April 9, 2008
agreed
thats a little bush
cubs2234 - April 9, 2008
eh - we have Pink Hat, they have Green Bird
ballhawk - April 9, 2008
LMFAO
@ PHG
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
All those wasted opportunities...
buckmulligan - April 9, 2008
About one every other inning
Dammit!@
Itchy - April 9, 2008
agreed
I know the hostile reaction will be towards the pen tonite, but the cubs should have 4 runs MINIMUM
philadelphiacub - April 9, 2008
no doubt
cant blame the pen too much when you only produce 2 runs
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
Aramis makes a diving catch
for Out #2
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
Get the ball down, Woodrow!
Itchy - April 9, 2008
Thanks Rami
Nice.
bluebythebook - April 9, 2008
Nasty sliders...
Shades of '98
CubsBullsBears - April 9, 2008
i always thought wood threw a curve, too
maybe he still does? or is he exclusively fb-slider now? anyone know?
cubs2234 - April 9, 2008
Wood looked sick coming to the bench
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
should have
thrown those to Bay
Bump Bailey - April 9, 2008
Who pitches the 10th?
Too soon for Lieber again, right? Wuertz? Hart?
californiachicagoan - April 9, 2008
I say put dempster back out there
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
prolly depends what we do in the top,
but I'm guessing wuertz or howry
philadelphiacub - April 9, 2008
Will Ohman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARRRRGGHH
just kidding
vtcub - April 9, 2008
I like Hart
ballhawk - April 9, 2008
meh this game always comes back to bite you in the ass
whenever you screw up (ie this offense) it always comes back..
Chanman25 - April 9, 2008
wuertz
please
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
How about
Ramirez + Fukudome back to back doubles.
grifdog - April 9, 2008
no pinch hitters
sept marquis, zambrano, and blanco. If there is any injury, then it would be extremely bad..
Chanman25 - April 9, 2008
More Fukudome magic?
Please?
Gator Cub - April 9, 2008
How's a base hit as his first trick?
CubsBullsBears - April 9, 2008
As bad as I feel for Demp...
I'm sure he of all people should know how it feels to blow a save for a guy who pitched lights out.
CubsBullsBears - April 9, 2008
agreed
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
That's what it sounded like Bob was implying
when he said Demp will be the first guy in the dugout to tell Kerry not to worry about it--it happens.
Gator Cub - April 9, 2008
He's cornered the market on that one
SackMan - April 9, 2008
The parrot is gone, of course
There needs to be an official protest on the inning and complaints filed.
sanantonecub - April 9, 2008
was it that absurd?
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
Absurd enough
That the Pirates need to know it won't be stood for. I don't think it's the reason to give up the HR but it's suspicious none-the-less
sanantonecub - April 9, 2008
Yes it was
he calmed down but in the beginning he was standing a waving at wood from woods line of sight while he was pitching.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
Then he's not professional
It's bush league, but why is it different than a fan doing it?
If he was distracted, he needs to toughen up and do his job.
Shanghai Badger - April 9, 2008
A fan isn't paid by the organization
And who knows if the mascot was under orders to try to mess the pitcher up.
sanantonecub - April 9, 2008
its different becuase
the parrot is on the Pirates payroll and is there to entertain, not there to harass or distract opposing team. If it was a fan I wouldnt care.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
I meant
Why would it be any more distracting than a fan?
Shanghai Badger - April 9, 2008
Well
Its a giant oversized bright green suit.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
I can guarantee
if a fan was standing in the isle like the parrot was and the fan was waving a poncho or sign, security would remove the fan from the isle. If a fan cant do it then why should the home team mascot be able to. At this point.... WHO CARES! F ' THE PARROT CUBS WIN!!
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
Come on
you don't think Kerry was really distracted do you? Or, as a lefty, even noticed him?
Gator Cub - April 9, 2008
Meant
the parrot was off to the left. Doubt Kerry even really noticed.
Gator Cub - April 9, 2008
he wasnt that far off to the left. I'm sure Kerry saw it.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
I'd say it was
as distracting as people wearing white jerseys in the batters eye.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
That's about not seeing the ball isnt it?
not a distraction thing
Gator Cub - April 9, 2008
I've
seen batters call time a number of times becuase people at wrigley get in the batters eye with white shirts on. It can effect the outcome of a pitch. If it was a fan being an ass then I wouldnt care. For all I know Wood didnt see it and he sure as heck wouldnt admit it. But it just pissed me off, thats all.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
HAHA Would love to see Lou protest.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
don't forget about the camera angle
most likely bird was out of Kerry's focus area.
ballhawk - April 9, 2008
No way
He was in the isle right behind the left batter box.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
Fukudome single up the middle
1 out. Dero up.
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
lets go dero!
Mr Snrub - April 9, 2008
i hit and run here
fischisgod - April 9, 2008

cubs2234 - April 9, 2008

Bump Bailey - April 9, 2008
Howry

Bump Bailey - April 9, 2008
Here comes a whiff
Itchy - April 9, 2008
lol
grifdog - April 9, 2008
Capps is good.
vtcub - April 9, 2008
I'm seeing a lot of that kind of strikeout from Dero lately
I was at the 3-2 win last sunday in those CBOE seats behind home plate and Dero struck out EXACTLY like that.
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
Last season, in April... DeRO struck out a TON.
But, he came around eventually.
SackMan - April 9, 2008
Nice AB, DeRo
Fuku CS
Itchy - April 9, 2008
was it close
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
Very
CubsBullsBears - April 9, 2008
Dammit Fukudome,
go read some Bill James.
Gator Cub - April 9, 2008
Well,
with the bottom of the order coming up and a poor-throwing catcher behind the plate i'd say it was worth it.
vtcub - April 9, 2008
this could be a bad night..
Chanman25 - April 9, 2008
Bang Bang
he got shot down
Bump Bailey - April 9, 2008
Gasoline on the mound
Itchy - April 9, 2008
Howry did OK on Monday.
DeRoMyHero - April 9, 2008
Come on Howry!
I'm trying to think positive. Let's do this!
bluebythebook - April 9, 2008
Even my Devil Rays fan roommate
just laughed at Howry's ERA. And he roots for a team who just called up Jae Kuk Ryu.
Gator Cub - April 9, 2008
Why
cant we just get the win in the 9th?
Why do we have to do this Extra Innings?
When do the cubs not tear at your heart?
Rudey - April 9, 2008
from November to March...
ballhawk - April 9, 2008
Trades
Tear and Tug at me sometimes.
Rudey - April 9, 2008
Answer: Never
Itchy - April 9, 2008
Speaking of tearing at your heart...
I wonder how Ron is taking this?
CubsBullsBears - April 9, 2008
I can
log in and find out...
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
Ronnie's fine
just the usual "Man oh man" and a few "Jeees" here and there
ballhawk - April 9, 2008
haha
I hope he makes it through the season
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
DON'T JINX HIM!
Let's think happy, hopeful thoughts about his health.
bluebythebook - April 9, 2008
I want whoever is closest...
...to pass Lou a note and remind him that he only has five bench players. I hate going to extras with no position players left on the bench besides Hank White.
cwyers - April 9, 2008
PHEW!
Ohmygoshthatwasclose.
bluebythebook - April 9, 2008
okay, not super close
But close enough.
bluebythebook - April 9, 2008
what happened?
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
Fly Out to deepish right center.
Gator Cub - April 9, 2008
can
we have meek come in the 11th?
plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
plenz - April 9, 2008
that was big
always good to get that first guy
Bump Bailey - April 9, 2008
Umm
Are thos strikes as down the middle as they appear on Gamecenter?
californiachicagoan - April 9, 2008
Mient threw the bat in the stands
:::whoops:::
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
2 more and then we get some offense going........
MinnesotaFan - April 9, 2008

sue369 - April 9, 2008
YEAHHHHH
OUTFIELD PUT OUT FOR SORIANO AT SECOND
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008

sue369 - April 9, 2008

Itchy - April 9, 2008

Gator Cub - April 9, 2008

Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
Sori-a-YES!
Nice throw...
CubsBullsBears - April 9, 2008

plenz - April 9, 2008

Busts Menk at 2nd base
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
mient

s l o w w w w w w w w w w w w
plenz - April 9, 2008
More like greedy
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
Some people shouldn't try stretching singles.
Doug Mientkiewicz is one of them. Hustle isn't a good thing if you can't back it up.
cwyers - April 9, 2008
He had every right to
the ball hung up by the stands where it juts out. The ball hung there and sori had to go get it. I would have gone for it too
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
You
would have been lucky to make it to first.
ZING
Rudey - April 9, 2008
Nice
to see some happy Soriano people for once.
Rudey - April 9, 2008
His arm
will make up for his slow start at the plate
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
not a sori fan but
the boy can flat throw!
plenz - April 9, 2008
Inning OVER
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
on to the 11th
Bump Bailey - April 9, 2008
good for sori
plays good for SOriano
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
Did a slow 1B really try to run on Sori?
Was it close?
DeRoMyHero - April 9, 2008
Not really
Got him out by about 4feet
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
HAHA
he had'em by 4 ft becuase when he dove to slide he just stuck hahaha
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
It was close but instead of sliding head 1st he kinda bounced on his chest and didnt move when he hit the ground hahaha
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
And the inning is over!
Pop up to short....top of the 11th
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
Good inning Howry
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
Lets get some hits.....
MinnesotaFan - April 9, 2008
well howry pitched pretty decently
lets get a RUN NOW!
Chanman25 - April 9, 2008
please get
a couple of runs...I's even take one.
sue369 - April 9, 2008
who comes in 4 the save if we score?
plenz - April 9, 2008
Wuertz or Hart, I'd say.
cwyers - April 9, 2008
marshall?
Chanman25 - April 9, 2008
Marquis or Z
To hit 2nd this inning?
californiachicagoan - April 9, 2008
Z
sue369 - April 9, 2008
Yes!!
Way to lay one down big Z!
californiachicagoan - April 9, 2008
Z is getting ready
Bump Bailey - April 9, 2008
Marquis has the flu.
He isn't even at the park, and is iffy for tomorrow.
bluebythebook - April 9, 2008
One less
PH than. Let's win this thing soon!
californiachicagoan - April 9, 2008
Marquis isnt at th egame I dont think
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
I apoligize

Itchy - April 9, 2008
Marquis he wont swing for the fences
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
yea, what u said
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
I thought Marquis was sick today -- is he available?
DeRoMyHero - April 9, 2008
Zambranos coming up to bat
with some of the PNC park plumbing as his bat
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
Haha...
I saw that, I was like "Is that a pipe?"
CubsBullsBears - April 9, 2008

plenz - April 9, 2008
Marquis might pitch tomorrow...
Hill is ill..
Bump Bailey - April 9, 2008
what's wrong with hill?
Chanman25 - April 9, 2008
No, Marquis is ill.
And Hill may swap places with him.
bluebythebook - April 9, 2008
but doesn't hill pitch tomorrow anyway?
would z go on four days rest?
Chanman25 - April 9, 2008
Maaaaybeeee 1,200 people at the game now haha
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
Soto base hit
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008

Chanman25 - April 9, 2008

Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008

Big Z time
Gator Cub - April 9, 2008
Sweet bunt!
Itchy - April 9, 2008
ok fonzie........
plenz - April 9, 2008
ooooops
plenz - April 9, 2008
Big Z
Nice bunt, that would have been nice to have against Arizona last fall.
gx4 - April 9, 2008
shame on you haha
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
You can't quiet the Riot!
Right?
RIGHT?
Come on Ryan!
bluebythebook - April 9, 2008
yes you can
LT - April 9, 2008
Apparently you can.
Shucks.
bluebythebook - April 9, 2008
Z for MVP!!
He wanted a HR
Zy Toro Young - April 9, 2008
Theriot
grounds out.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
Theriot sucks
Itchy - April 9, 2008
Not sure why you use Z for that
Is he really that good at laying down the sac?
That one worked, but it wasn't a good bunt.
Gator Cub - April 9, 2008
not only that
why not use Lilly? He wouldn't pinch-hit in a swinging situation.
Shanghai Badger - April 9, 2008
mostly because
there's no one else left on the bench, except blanco and i guess you dont wanna use your last bat for a sac
philadelphiacub - April 9, 2008
Time for Soriano...
To step up offensively
CubsBullsBears - April 9, 2008
Nm
CubsBullsBears - April 9, 2008
won't get the chance
LT - April 9, 2008
hello all...
looks like i missed a thriller here... we gotta pull this one out!
bap - April 9, 2008
Can't PR for Soto if Marquis is sick, I guess.
DeRoMyHero - April 9, 2008
I can't think of anyone on this team who loves...
...swinging for the fences more than Z, but he bunts when the situation calls for it.
I'm just saying...
[lobbing you a nice big softball, cwyers... ;-) ]
ballhawk - April 9, 2008
I actually looked into it today...
...as Baseball-Reference.com has added a bunch of new splits, including how well a player does bunting. Soriano has something like 17 bunt attempts in his career, with 3 hits and 2 Reach On Errors. If you think he can continue that, having him bunt is probably a pretty good idea - his OBP would be right around where it's at from having him swing away.
cwyers - April 9, 2008
Walking Soriano!
To get to Pie??
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
Stand real still Geo
Don't "distract" Alfie
californiachicagoan - April 9, 2008
INT Walk to Sori
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
I hate theriot
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
come on Soriano,
we need a bomb. right here.
buckmulligan - April 9, 2008
walking Soriano
to get to Pie....not liking this
sue369 - April 9, 2008
Good Luck Pie
Not sure if this is going to help Pie's mental state at the plate. Good luck.
gx4 - April 9, 2008
cmon felix
hate to say
3 outs coming
plenz - April 9, 2008
not good.
i've seen this movie before.
buckmulligan - April 9, 2008
Horrible sign
How impossibly unlikely it seemed that he would get a hit. He isnt even getting decent outs. Something needs to be done.
californiachicagoan - April 9, 2008
IBB the .135 hitter to get to the .176 hitter
heh
grifdog - April 9, 2008
Would have been nice
if they'd have then walked the .176 hitter to get to the .400 hitter, but that's probably asking too much.
Gator Cub - April 9, 2008
i have confidence in felix
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
GO PIE!!!
OOPS ground out
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
Wuertz
is in now
Bump Bailey - April 9, 2008
All we are saying
is give Pie a chance.
santo4hof - April 9, 2008
He had a chance there
saw two pitches and grounded out. I hope he gets it going one of these days.
Itchy - April 9, 2008
Pie is inept
Itchy - April 9, 2008
Felix Pie
= bad
plenz - April 9, 2008
Murton
would have driven the run in.....
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
while kicking the
CEDENO! out of the mascot on his way to base.
sue369 - April 9, 2008
I was a felix supporter
but I don't know man....I want to like him but he has to give me reason to
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
We CAN NOT
continue to experiment in CF
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
i wish we could have a new game thread
This one is so slow right now!
maryliz983 - April 9, 2008
at least the lineup turned over
gotta hold them now and let Lee-Ramirez-Dome get a shot.
grifdog - April 9, 2008
exactly Pie was a defensive move...
bap - April 9, 2008
Start Johnson in CF
Send Pie and bring Murton
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
you're giving up already?
bap - April 9, 2008
I never started
Dont like experimenting in CF. AKA Patterson delima
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
and johnson can handle the fielding duties full time?
bap - April 9, 2008
This just went from bad...
To Wuertz... (had to say it)
CubsBullsBears - April 9, 2008
Pie
ala Des Moines
JoToPo - April 9, 2008
damnit
this is really frustrating, reminds me of last april
Chanman25 - April 9, 2008
except we're 4-3?
Beaushek - April 9, 2008
not record wise
i mean the ability for the hitters to not drive in runners
Chanman25 - April 9, 2008
Pie
has had all offseason and still everyone just busts him up inside. I don't think he can handle this level
plenz - April 9, 2008
was it a weak ground ball?
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
yes
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
Did Pie's AB look decent?
DeRoMyHero - April 9, 2008
Not exactly...
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
No
its not good when the announcers are calling the pitch and they're right and Pie whiffs
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
Felix needs some consistent ABS
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
I have a feeling he'll be getting them real soon here.
Just not in the majors. Which is frustrating, but what can you do.
cwyers - April 9, 2008
damn...
12 left on base...not good
Bump Bailey - April 9, 2008
Feeble would sum his ab up
plenz - April 9, 2008
Relax peeps
Why win a game 9 or 10 innings when you can win it in 16
Zy Toro Young - April 9, 2008
McClouth scares me
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
Wonder if Al is getting updates...
ballhawk - April 9, 2008

Bump Bailey - April 9, 2008
THE JUMP CATCH
bap - April 9, 2008
was it a weak ground ball?
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
yes weak
plenz - April 9, 2008
is this a double post
regarding pie's out? Nonetheless, yes it was a weak grounder to 1st base
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
yea
doubley
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
nice catch Sori
1 down!
bluebythebook - April 9, 2008
At least
the Brewers are losing.
santo4hof - April 9, 2008
If that was at Wrigley,
some boob would've grabbed it
Itchy - April 9, 2008
at least we have boobs in the seats
to grab those things (and pay sorianos salary)
cubsonWGN4ever - April 9, 2008
thats right
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
and Arne Harris sure knew how to find them! ;-)
ballhawk - April 9, 2008

Bump Bailey - April 9, 2008

Go Demps by the way!
razzpunk - April 9, 2008
I like Wuertz a lot
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
maybe
you could givee him a delicious bass.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
Wuertz
throwing haaard
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
normally
I would assume this is just another typical Cub loss..........for some reason.....I still say they win
plenz - April 9, 2008
I completely agree... if we get this batter out.
Beaushek - April 9, 2008
i like the way wuertz operates
quick and within the strikezone.
bap - April 9, 2008
foot going into mouth right now.
bap - April 9, 2008
hahahah
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
bb
plenz - April 9, 2008
Wuertz
walks the batter
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
This thread is getting slow...
do we need to start another fanpost?
LT - April 9, 2008
yes
plenz - April 9, 2008
I'd rather walk the guy that already ruined this game for us once.
Beaushek - April 9, 2008
Now there is a fan behind the plate
waving a pirate flag. I'm cool with that.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
hasnt he been there the whole game?
cubs2234 - April 9, 2008

razzpunk - April 9, 2008

Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
I don't know if it's been said already

bap - April 9, 2008

Chanman25 - April 9, 2008
agreed
D Lee is due
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
Lets get some runs!!!
Is Hill really not pitching tomorrow?
fischisgod - April 9, 2008
Lou was considering...
....moving Marquis up to keep him on his normal schedule, for reasons I can't fathom. But Marquis has flu-like symptoms and may not be available.
cwyers - April 9, 2008
lou wants
to keep big z on his regular schedule...
Bump Bailey - April 9, 2008
possibly
not official yet
Bump Bailey - April 9, 2008
if this keeps up, Hill may end up pitching tomorrow tonight
ballhawk - April 9, 2008
DirecTv ppl...
Watching SD broadcast on 668...is there a CSNHD alternate channel?
Fukudometer - April 9, 2008
Not that I saw
strange isnt it.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
Not really.
The spot beams they use to carry the HD feeds for the regional sports networks don't have as much bandwidth, and so I doubt they have an HD alternate for the RSNs.
cwyers - April 9, 2008
But I dont see ANY alt
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
meaning if I didnt have EI I wouldnt be able to watch
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
When I was at home, I was watching...
...on 668. SD, but you can't have it all. Guess someone has to cover the Bulls.
cwyers - April 9, 2008
oh
you're right i see it.
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
on CSN
you can watch poker. Is it 2005 again?
Fukudometer - April 9, 2008
I made an overflow fan post

buckmulligan - April 9, 2008
Maybe this will work. dont know
NEW OVERFLOOOOWWW
http://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/2008/4/9/391310/overflow-game-thread
Keystone80435 - April 9, 2008
25 LOB???
Sorry, I just got home. Pulled up Gameday and I see the Cubs have 25 runners left on base tonight...Is that accurate? Is it some sort of mistake on gameday?? I can't believe it...I know the Cubs have always been notorious for leaving ducks on but...wow.
I feel for everyone who has watched this game.
montanacubby - April 9, 2008
I hate when we outhit teams by 6 and still find ourselves
in a tie game. We need to do better with runners in scoring position
CubsBall2202 - April 9, 2008
anyone know how ....
many pitches dempster threw tonight?
goatstew - April 9, 2008
Demp threw 98 pitches...
...67 for strikes. Looks like he threw very well, but i'm just looking at stats. I'm concerned with Ronny's E in the 8th, did that lead to anything? I'm sorry for bringing it up again, but I just tuned in.
montanacubby - April 9, 2008
anyone have a comment
on Soto's weight? Does it look like he's gone off the Kerry Wood diet?
alec - April 9, 2008
Corey Patterson now hitting .300
and has gone 2 for 4 tonight.
zevkalman - April 9, 2008
At this point, I'm more interested in
Eric Patterson.
