getting picked off like a dumbass in the 9th. That didn’t help did it? That potential run wins that game. And…....we could have had a couple more wins when he was hitting a buck fifty during the 1st 30 games or so couldn’t we have? I am just saying…..the good is at least balanced out with the bad
Lou really needs to cut this “superstar” BS and bring in a defensive replacement for Sori in close games in the 9th. You have to put feelings aside and do what’s best for the team.
as you state. Just viewing the WHOLE game. You can place blame all over the freaking place, starting with Ted Lilly giving up to jacks to Luis Rivas, I mean come on. Dome goes 0 for 5 at the plate and look bad doing it. Last night DeRosa strikes out with the bases jacked, Cubs get the first two on in the 13th no out and don’t score, hell they can’t even get the runner to third. Blame goes all around. Sori’s drop is magnifed because of the timing of the play. I like the guy, not my favorite Cub. Just being realistic, HE IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!
Team seems weary, tired, or something. Yes we can trash Soriano for the hachett job in left, But how many times are Cub relievers hitting guys to start an innning ( Woody) or walking guys (Marmol). And Lilly needs a little accountability here, Louis “Freaking” Rivas. But Sori will get killed, stayed tuned for the avalanche.
Lieber is good. Howry is picking it up. Wuertz pitched well yesterday. Gallagher has put himself in the rotation. Marmol is teh sh!t. And Woody can be dominant.
Cubs went 8-2 last homestand, and Soriano went off, I guess that is in the rear view mirror. Hey I am not going to defend him dropping the ball, But to blame this whole game on him, can’t do it.
DH ALfonso for a couple weeks – give Micah a look.
In two weeks Soriano comes back ‘healthy’ – the Edmonds experiment ends – the team gets an idea about Hof’s ability for the expanded roster and the Cubs remain competitive.
did noah get arrested for drugs and alcohol?? if so i’m expecting an apology from, well you know who you are. i said he was a cancerous thug and needed to be gotten rid of and i was quickly rebuffed.
People who are angry about ineptitude are not necessarily trolls. Perhaps you would rather see a post like this?
“It’s OK guys. Sure, they lost a game they should have won. Sure they had to extend our bullpen for the second day in a row, something that could hurt the team long term. It’s OK. We’ll get them tomorrow! Yay! Team!”
That is not acceptable. And frankly, your apology, balanced against your other rantings, combined with the fact that you RARELY post in a game thread when we’re winning make your nature all too apparent.
to win. And…........I DO post when they are winning. I do not have the time to be at a computer every damn game. They should be winning…so maybe I don’t get as emotional when they actually play close to their abilities
Like I said…...I really don’t wish him hurt….......just play better
we don’t have heated debates when the team is winning because there is nothing to debate about. when the team wins 12-3 there’s nothing to debate…all we can say is good job.
needs to go on the DL if he can’t run. He is obviously having problems with it because he isn’t limping because of confidence issues. He’s doing us no good limping around the field right now.
Let me point out that cubsmania said this in a way that didn’t namecall, that didn’t use profanity, and that summed it up without using nasty language in any way.
We’re all frustrated at the last two losses. But that doesn’t mean we can’t have civilized discussion here.

that was a potential hit and run, and Theriot didn't get a good pitch.
But it didn’t cost us the game. marquis’ crappy pitching cost us that game.

it was a sacrifice bunt attempt.

Soriano’s there for his offense. Not his glove.

When does Lou figure out to take him out in those spots
If it were Dusty everyone would hammer him

He’d put Neifi in as a defensive replacement

IF SORIANO WERE NOT PLAYING
Just wait a couple years to see how truly bad that signing was
plenz - May 25, 2008
Not to mention....
Barry Zito, Juan Gonzalez, Kevin Brown, Albert Belle…
There’ve been a lot of bad baseball contracts. Calling Sori the worst when he carried the team for a month last year is a tad extreme, dontcha think?
cocknfire - May 25, 2008
oh It has just started
The Soriano killing fields
Grockcubs - May 25, 2008

as you state. Just viewing the WHOLE game. You can place blame all over the freaking place, starting with Ted Lilly giving up to jacks to Luis Rivas, I mean come on. Dome goes 0 for 5 at the plate and look bad doing it.

Grockcubs - May 25, 2008

cubsmania - May 25, 2008
worst ever?
Hardly. Frustrating? You bet.
Griff5479 - May 25, 2008
Soriano will prove this out…
He cant play the outfield, He cant run any more…
He is streaky hitter ….meaning there are sooo many games he doesnt even show up for…
I would love to have a soriano wins and losses column…. because there are a few of each this yer
Reed's Johnson - May 25, 2008
Horrible loss
Team seems weary, tired, or something.
Yes we can trash Soriano for the hachett job in left, But how many times are Cub relievers hitting guys to start an innning ( Woody) or walking guys (Marmol).
And Lilly needs a little accountability here, Louis “Freaking” Rivas.
But Sori will get killed, stayed tuned for the avalanche.

Lieber is good. Howry is picking it up. Wuertz pitched well yesterday. Gallagher has put himself in the rotation. Marmol is teh sh!t. And Woody can be dominant.
drewishdrewid - May 25, 2008

Our pitching problems are from the rotation. The bullpen cannott stop them each and every time
plenz - May 25, 2008
Fine
Cubs went 8-2 last homestand, and Soriano went off, I guess that is in the rear view mirror.
Hey I am not going to defend him dropping the ball, But to blame this whole game on him, can’t do it.
Grockcubs - May 25, 2008
but he
balances his hit streaks out with horrific offensive streaks and consistent pathetic D
plenz - May 25, 2008
soriano's losing games with his defense
and if he can’t run…he should go on the DL…he’s useless limping around the bases and limping around the outfield
