...but fielding percentage is entirely useless, because you can’t make an error if you don’t make it to the baseball, and it’s not an error if the runner beats out your throw. So you can perhaps see why a guy with good hands but poor range and arm would put up a good fielding percentage but not actually be good on defense.
they finally fixed the Fox Espanol feed of the game. For some reason, in the top of the 4th, the feed was almost 5 minutes behind. So I watched the rally in Spanish, which was fine. Now I can sync Pat & Ron to the Spanish feed and be back in business. Go Cubs!!
But it is wierd that every half inning of the game, the feed/sync timing changes. Fox is messed up!
but if I had thought for a moment or two longer, it would have been less of a guess and more of a certainty seeing as how you’re watching the Mets game.

but Marmol is our most valued young pitching commodity right now. Throwing him this much in meaningless games as Lou has already done twice this year is Dusty-esque
who can do that as well, if Lou wasn’t so committed to making him a lefty specialist. We have multiple arms capable of going more than 1 inning, this was senseless today
Why do that if he was not going to come into the game? IMO, Mármol should have been properly rested and not pitch at all today, or at the very least no more than one inning.
I was calling Northwestern Wildcats @ Illinois Fighting Illini play-by-play on the radio (Illini 14-4, F), but my color commentator was getting text updates on his phone whenever the Cubs scored and I was more than happy to pass them along. Let’s get ‘em again tonight!

but we just called up Gallagher who was supposed to start yesterday. He’s completely fresh and should be used when we’re up 6 runs and need 2 innings. If things get hairy, then you bring in Marmol

Why do that if he was not going to come into the game? IMO, Mármol should have been properly rested and not pitch at all today, or at the very least no more than one inning.

I was calling Northwestern Wildcats @ Illinois Fighting Illini play-by-play on the radio (Illini 14-4, F), but my color commentator was getting text updates on his phone whenever the Cubs scored and I was more than happy to pass them along. Let’s get ‘em again tonight!
