Since yesterday's game was eminently forgettable, let's relive some of the good plays and interesting moments from Wednesday night's win:
Mark DeRosa catches Brian Roberts' (who?) fly ball in the 1st inning
Aramis Ramirez scores the Cubs' third run on Geovany Soto's single
Mike Fontenot catches Melvin Mora's popup in the 3rd inning
During an 8th inning pitching change, Orioles outfielders appear to be having a prayer meeting
Kerry Wood strikes out Alex Cintron to end the game

Once again
great pictures! Too bad the game was terrible. I especially appreciated the prayer meeting… maybe the O’s had divine intervention. Let’s hope the gods nod our way today.

Why not, we had a bad series right before we saw the Sox last week.
and that series went our way. Let’s hope for a similar crosstown series this weekend.

Those photos are from Wednesday night...
... which was a GOOD game.
Al Yellon - June 27, 2008
oops
still have that bad-game hangover from yesterday
Emelie - June 27, 2008
Yeah, me too.
Let’s get rid of it at 3:05 today!
Al Yellon - June 27, 2008
There was a game yesterday?!
I guess I must have blocked it out of my mind.
Blue W - June 27, 2008
Of course there was a game yesterday.....
in Detroit, where the Cardinals lost…........
crazymountain - June 27, 2008
Also, the Brewers did not play.
So, all things considered, the Cubs dodged a bullet with yesterday’s horrific loss. New day. New series.

And I got to catch the replay
of the tenth inning on FSN last night. That helped.
neverAcquiesce - June 27, 2008
I wish it was a 1:20 game in stead of 3pm
Madison Cub Fan - June 27, 2008
Not me.
I get off at 4 so I’ll get to catch most of the game.
But I have to watch it on WGN. :(
neverAcquiesce - June 27, 2008
Just turn the sound off!
Al Yellon - June 27, 2008
I Think You Answered My Question
Are Len and Bob doing the CSN Chicago coverage today?
CaliCub - June 27, 2008
Yes.
Al Yellon - June 27, 2008
you sure? Len & Bob were on CSN last week when it was at Wrigley
...and WGN had Heckle and Jeckyl.
Logic, decency and fair play would suggest that they flip announcers for today’s game, no?
ballhawk - June 27, 2008
Yes, I'm sure.
That’s what it says on both team’s websites.
Al Yellon - June 27, 2008
TIVO says
the post-game show on WGN is “White Sox Wrapup,” so it’s going to Hawk and DJ on the WGN feed.
gary varsho - June 27, 2008
You know it.
Don’t get Pat and Ron out here so it looks like a “watch Cubs game, listen to music” kind of day.
neverAcquiesce - June 27, 2008
Save the Van Halen for after the game
For fifteen bucks get MLB Gameday Audio and then you CAN listen to Pat & Ron for every game.
JFCubFan - June 27, 2008
Is that in real time?
Or is there a delay?
Bump Bailey - June 27, 2008
it's "kind of" real time
the feed is usually about 2-3 seconds behind the game—if you have a dvr, you can mess around to synch them
Shanghai Badger - June 27, 2008
ok thanks...
that’s not too bad. i think i’ll check that out.
Bump Bailey - June 27, 2008
minor delay
a little dvr pause-and-play and you can get them in synch – otherwise the MLB.tv radio feed is about a pitch behind – the video feed for MLB.tv is even further delayed (~2-3 pitches)
RavenswoodRob - June 27, 2008
I can't wait till the game starts today.
yesterday’s game is fresh in my mind.
mjk83 - June 27, 2008
argh
I’m in a huge project today; I’d no idea that the game started during work hours!
plot, plot, plot… AH-HAH! I HAVE YOU NOW!
drewishdrewid - June 27, 2008
Love those game-ending Kerry Wood shots.
It would be cool if, at season’s end, someone compiled those and created a slideshow.
daver - June 27, 2008
For all the doom and gloom
after yesterday’s game I looked this morning and we are still in first place 19 games over 500. Sometimes I wonder.
Oh and Happy birthday to Jim Edmonds, 38 today. Still a youngster.
bubbamike the one and only - June 27, 2008
let's hope he celebrates in fine style
on the field
Emelie - June 27, 2008
Let's hope
he gives a fan or two a gift today.
neverAcquiesce - June 27, 2008
A 50th Win
on the season would be a great way to celebrate!
CaliCub - June 27, 2008
Yup.
We gotta win today or tomorrow to get 50 before the halfway point of the season.
