While we wait for tonight's Home Run Derby, here's a photographic review of the weekend.
The newest Cub, Rich Harden, pitching
Rich Harden leaves the game to a standing ovation
Matt Murton says goodbye to his fans in the bleachers. Oh, wait...
Seven of the eight Cub All-Stars (Ryan Dempster was warming up in the bullpen)
SF's John Bowker thrown out by Reed Johnson at the plate in the third inning
Bleacher fans wave the Aramis Ramirez giveaway T-shirts during his at-bat in the 8th inning. Unfortunately, A-Ram hit into a double play.
Flying this flag just tells us the result of the game -- not that we're "losers".

Great Pics
The Murton-Ronald McDonald comparison was classic.

No baseball for four days makes me sad
The home run derby and All-Star Game don’t count.

Murton line is great
Who gets credit for that one? Al or David?
santo4hof - July 14, 2008
Al gets credit
I cracked up too, when I saw the caption he had posted.

Well, I thought it was Murton at first!
Kidding. I think.

I was at the game Sunday with my girlfriend
and both were amazed by all the people in the bleachers waving their shirts. It was unreal. Just a sea of blue.

I still can't believe we have 8 all-stars...
...it’s so awesome.

Always wonderful pictures...
I love seeing the game from the fan prospective. These shots are so much better than close up shots you see in the media.
Murton’s flipping burgers now?

Anybody hear this about us being intersted in Greene? Don't think it's diary-worthy, but here's the link...

Always, always, ALWAYS...
... read the original article quoted in MLBTR. If you had done that you’d know that the Cubs aren’t “interested” in Greene:
Sounds like Hendry called and asked Towers to trade Greene for a low-level prospect, Towers laughed and that was the end of it.

Whoops. Sorry. I'm not usually that lazy.

Poor Matt Murton - lol

I thought the Cubs said they were no longer going to fly the "L" flag?
In today’s world of Internet, etc…
LAcarl519 - July 14, 2008
Conversely--does flying the "W" flag mean that we're not winners...
...and only that we won the game? ;c-)
cubfever7 - July 14, 2008
LOL
But the point is well taken. It simply announces the result of the game, nothing more.
Al Yellon - July 14, 2008
I was trying to get a good pic of the "L flag
as if the rumor is true that after the ASB they will not be flying it anymore after loses, but I couldn’t get it when it was unfurled. It might be the last time we see it (anyway, the way the Cubs have been playing at home this year, it really isn’t being used very much anyhow)

It's more than just a rumor...
... which is why I posted the thread the other day asking for more opinions. All the comments there, plus all the ones from the previous post made in late June have been forwarded to management.
Al Yellon - July 14, 2008
Any feedback?
