DPLee hasn’t hit a homer in over a month, and is on the wrong side of 30. It isn’t a slump. His best days are behind him. Soto is exhausted and ARam is 0-PASB. They need to sit.
How someone can watch tonight’s game and not see the obvious is baffling.
brings up a good point. Hopefully, bringing back soriano tomorrow would not be too much pressure on him. But, making as much money as he does we should expect him to play well..
If the Cubs can just get something going it would be a good boost to their confidence. Ward’s homer helps. The guys look frustrated, you can see it in their faces and body language.
did you see Ramirez throw his bat away and slam down his helmet? They definitely do not need a chewing out by Lou, but they need something to restore their lost confidence.
Cheering them on as hard as I can.. Glad to see it looks like the Cardinals finally realized they were over-achieving and we can focus on the Brewers now..
I just hope this isn’t some extended thing….Brewers are tearing it up suddenly and probably can’t wait to get us into Miller Park…..ill timed offensive slump…..it is painful to look at DLee and ARam right now….but perhaps a return to friendlier confines will awaken our sleeping bats…that and sweet swinging Alfy Sor…....gear it up against the Fish and then come into Miller with bats a blazing…...OR this becomes a cancer on the offense and we slowly slump our way into 2nd, which could still be good enough for the playoffs….remember the WC will likely come from the NL Central so don’t give up…..
Didn't Lou just get over saying that Hoffpauier has no business playing the outfield?
So why then was he brought in to play left field in what was then a tight ballgame? Cubs are screwing up on ALL CYLINDERS except the starting pitching.
These guys don’t need a kick in the butt, they need something positive to happen. I don’t know what Lou can do about it, but they won’t play better tomorrow getting screamed at after a game like this.
Just let em circle the bases, little league style. Half-assed execution once again. Right now we have the worst outfielders on the field in all of baseball, sweet!
just let them be. maybe some like the attention or getting under everyones skin. Reading and posting on here was easy a few weeks ago; you’d usually be able to igmore all the sarcasm and cursing to read about good baseball and follow game threads. now you its a complete reversal, i cant even follow the game anymore, its one comment about the game for every 10 on how pathetic things are!
You can’t accept the fact that the Cubs right now are NOT good. The proof is in their game. DLee is trying to pull everything. He will set a record for DP’s that was held by probably the slowest player to EVER play this game. I know you don’t know who it is, but a google search will tell you.
You called me a moron for responding to someone who said that DLee reached for another pitch. I said it was alright to reach for the pitch, just hit it, don’t try to pull it. That is baseball. You hit the pitch away to the OPPOSITE field. Otherwise you have a weak grounder to the pull side. DUH….
I know, dance around the campfire, sing Kum BiYa…...
I played college baseball too. I was a starting pitcher all four years. You don’t go headhunting for a clearly unintentional beanball. You just don’t. Shut up.
Big difference versus the scenario that happened with the lowly Giants. I dont’ care if Hart wasn’t gunning for Hudson, Cubs ARE going to feel this one.
Hart drilled one of the dbacks key players with first base clearly open and him being beaten like a rag doll on the mound, intentional or not, the dbacks are most likely going to have some sort of payback, thats how the game is played like it or not
You don’t know what you’re talking about. Accidental beanballs happen. Professional ballplayers can tell the difference between unintentional and intentional HBP. That difference matters. What the fuck is the point of punishing someone for an accident?
What’s the point of punishing the other team for a clear accident? Usually a beanball is in retaliation for something dickish that the other team did… a batter showing up a pitcher, an intentional HBP, a player sliding in with his spikes high, etc.
Why throw at someone for an accident? Especially what you’re saying… that they’re going to try and injure someone… it’s nonsense. You’re an idiot.
You can see it in Lou’s body language – “this kid just doesn’t have it.” It looked just the same on the 12th when the Giants were slapping him around.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Hart gets a very down-to-earth, quiet assessment of his future with the team in a 1-to-1 meeting with Lou. They’ll send him to AAA, try to accommodate him with a trade… but I seriously doubt that Hart pitches another meaningful inning in 2008.
If the Cubs ccould just manage to play .500 ball the rest of the year….
They will win 90 games.
Do I think that enough to win the NL central….? NO…BUT…..
I do think they will play a little beter than that…..bUT also….92 or 93 might not bee enough either….BUT that said…if the turds and suds can win 95+......more power to ‘em
Will probably get their two cents in. Not worried about this team at all, these hitters are too good to stay this cold for long. Not to mention Soriano coming back should provide some sort of boost to the offense
and if they can’t play .500 (ish) ball the rest of the year….they DONT deserve to be in the playoffs….and I agree….the Turds and Suds aren’t going away…just makes some squandered opportunities earlier this year hurt that much more….not that the Cubs own the market on squnadered opportunities.
this slump will not last much longer IMO. They are playing hard, hitting the ball pretty good – right at someone – and their pitching (except for Marshalll and Hart) has been outstanding. Hopefully it will end tomorrow. Like Bob said, if you have to lose two of three, then let the win be on getaway day.
are you saying that Kevin Hart intentionally threw at Hudson with the intent to do serious physical damage, even perhaps cause him to be out for the rest of the season?
the last i saw him pitch was the game where he came in and pitched two scoreless innings after we gave up 7 runs to the gians in the 8th and 9th inning at wrigley
But it don’t matter. Not late in a blowout against a 1st place opponent. And in a game where you clearly are playing like crap and frustration is bound to flare.
On the positive side you'll never be on my ignore list
I’m a sucker for diehard Cubbie fans from Iowa. Sue, I know you actually are one of the smartest and most objective Cubbie fans on this blog. And for that it is a better place.
You think we should call Fred and have him weigh in on the subject too?
Seriously, you’re good stuff Sue. One of the top 10 contributors to the sight. You hate my guts but that doesn’t matter. After all it’s not like we are team of neurosurgeons debating cure for cancer on this blog.
wouldn’t have told me what I could do to myself last year and then called me a name. That is who you really are. People on here are seeing that more and more every time you post.
If I have ever done something to offend you then I am sorry
Because seriously, you are one of the fine cornerstones of this blog. This blog loses you and its a worse space. I’m not joking around here. It is clear that you are longtime diehard who knows this team and has cried with this team for many years. You and I are cut from the same cloth. I have great respect for you.
When a blog about the Cubs devolves into psychotic individuals scurrying to Best Buy to purchase a couple of other computers so they can come up with a couple of other login IDs so they can make the subject matter of BCB about me instead of the Cubs? Well then it is time for me to severely curtail my participation. Creepy factor has settled in here at BCB.
Anyway Sue, you are one of the best on this blog despite your sour thinking on me.
Tonight is my third time posting on this site, ever. How quickly did the rest of the drool monkeys get on this spectacular list? Am I the fastest? I hope so. I must have struck a nerve.
this is another matter on which you’re completely and utterly wrong. I have never been on here before under another name. Maybe Al can verify this… I imagine he has the website registration information for everyone here.
I think it matters a lot! The kid was trying to get an out, he was wild and accidently hit the batter on the leg. He didn’t throw at his head. I would be shocked if Arizona throws at a Cub tomorrow over this.
Too bad profanity is not permissible on live feeds
I would love to hear Lou do his best Elia immatation.
Now the pressure begins for the starters. Since they know they are stuck with a bunch of suck ass hitters, they know that they will have to be damn near perfect in order to have a chance to win. That results in these guys trying to make the perfect pitch each time out. That leads to walks, hard hit balls, and the Cubs getting bitch slapped by 8 runs.
there are lots of Blue Mikes here…....all the ones who are the “gang”, the regulars, cannot take one bit of criticism of the Cubs….the Blue Mikes cannot take anything positive about the CUBS…..one is as bad as the other. Plainly speaking, the Cubs suck right now. If you don’t like that, call me names. I have been a Cubs fan since 1958, (not going to insert names here) but a Chicago hero would say the same thing. Uncle (name omitted here) would be here taking y’all to task also. Get a grip, both you negative idiots and you “do NOT criticize MY Cubs” idiots. See life as what it is. Not what it should be. Blue Mike, or whatever your damn name is, my offer still stands. I am half Sicilian, and I do NOT forget the personal things you threw at me. You “positive” Cubs fans….NOT BRUCE is an example, get it together, let folks speak their minds without your damn name-calling. Shit.
And right now, no, the Cubs aren’t very good. At least their offense isn’t.
The big difference is that based on past performances, I expect them to snap out of it very soon. And unlike many around here, I don’t think this is the beginning of the end, or the other shoe dropping, etc., etc.
Seems to me that many think that the Cubs have just been in an itsy-witsy slump as of late.
Well, for all of you crack smokers, try an 8-9 record in the month of July. For the team that still has the best record in the NL, that is beyond unacceptable. Also, that is a 17 game straight run (more than 10% of the season) that has been under .500.
I would love to know why people think this is a mere abberation. Oh, wait, my bad. I forgot, they are the Cubs. All will be well, just like it has been for 100 years.
IlliniHimey, I am a relative newcomer, 3 months at the outside....
I have never seen your name here. Granted I post rarely, but I read often. I have no clue what a troll is but I do know what assholes are. And you ARE one…...
Well, tis better to be an asshole than a cum stain. And you, sir, are the blotches that may be found all over the comforters of American’s hotel chains.
you are an asswipe of the first class….and, if you want to crawl out of your ass and meet like a man, I will be in Chicago in a week…..So you want to tell me where you will be? I will be at the Ambassador. Look me up. I will leave this name, crazymountain at the desk. Meet me punk.
Asshole, now asswipe. So, I must now refer to you as a cum shot, as opposed to being a cum stain.
I am curious. Why would you like to meet with me? I have an idea, but I was wondering if you could be stooooopid enough to share it with everyone on this board?
A threat of violence, set on a message board for all to see. Better part of this, I can print this out and have this as a record vs. the owner of this site.
Man, in spite of tonight’s loss, you made my night. I am still amazed that some people would publically threaten on a message board. No different than making a physical threat via phone, face to face, etc.
I do have one question. For you to be at the Ambassador, are you the assistant to the janitorial engineer?
As for asking me if I am a minor, now I am really confused. Are you some sort of predator. Sorry dude, but I am no sperm farter.
Sorry, gals, IF this is a man, he needs an asskickin', it is obvious his parents never disciplined him.
I refuse to back off from some chicken-sh&t behind a keyboard. I have my thumbs, I am not worried. Oh, yeah, I also walk with a cane. Guess I will have my wife hold that for me.
you and I are probably around the same age (I’m 58), so I understand your anger with this guy. But, please don’t stoop to his level. I, and a lot of others, have flagged this guy. Let Al take it from here. O.K.?
You are right, Mr. W......Like I said, I am not a "blog" person....
I have lived in the real world all my life. I reckon I should just give up this registration and live my happy life. NO ONE in the real world would say those things to me, I guarantee it. Why do I know this? Because no one ever has talked this way to me. I reckon I will just live my more than happy life and leave the typing to y’all. And, first thing is to get this centipede on the table (it has been raining here) and they are poisonous…...I will just think of it as this kid that I have never seen type anything here…..
I have a great life, NO ONE does, ever has (well in my old neighborhood when I was a kid!) talked to me this way. There is a reason for that, I am a big ugly guy….peaceable enough, but I will never back down….I haven’t had to prove anything since 1982….so, I will take your troll definition and consider this a learning experience. So, y’all have a great time typing, I will just play my music and live my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love my Cubs and ALL true Cubs fans are friends!! G’bye!!!!
The 2006 cardinals lost 8 straight in Late July-early August…Including 4 at wrigley..Oh and then they lost 7 straight from sept. 20th to sept. 26th. They then won the WS a month later…
meant to add that the “playoff” system sucks. The two best records should meet in the WS. Period. 116 wins and not even a league ring. Something is REALLY wrong…
1999 yankees lost 5 of 6 games to the Royals and Red Sox in September with only a 1 game lead and still won the WS. I don’t think we need to start freaking out yet…
While I do not disagree with you, my issue is HOW they are playing and losing.
I don’t have the time, but if I were a betting man, I am guessing that the Brewers have not had a stretch this year where they have been so abyssmal with the bats.
the Cubs are in a very bad hitting slump right now, but hitting slumps come to an end. As a coach myself, the last thing I would do with these guys is scream and yell at them. If they weren’t playing hard, that’s another matter, but they are playing hard! Look at the frustration on the faces of these guys. They absolutely hate what has been happening to the team right now. To tell them they stink is not a newflash. But to tell them they are still very much in charge of their own destiny, to tell them our best pitchers are lined up for the Brewers this month, and to tell them this slump has to end, so let’s end it tomorrow, is what I would tell em. All they need is one break, one positive play, and this whole thing can turn around in a nanosecond.
man. He knows not to kick his team when they are down. I’m sure he did talk with them and they all understand that things have to change. Now they just have to work to get it turned around.
they need to relax and play the game like they did when they were kids – let it be fun again. These guys are as tight as can be. I haven’t seen them this tense all season. Just relax guys, it will come.
someone has to sit DLee down and show him video of Derrek hitting the outside pitch to RF with authority. He is pulling everything. Sit him down a couple days, play Hoffpauir at FIRST, not LF, and let him relax a bit.
Rami needs to stop thinking that he is the only one who can win a game. He is a great hitter who is pulling off trying to get the lead run with no one on. He needs to relax, and HIT the way he does.
The Cubs need to step back and just relax, do the things that got them here. They have lost their ‘swagger’, their confidence…...
Have you guys seen the fight in Detroit between the Sparks and the Comets. Rick Mahorn, a coach on the Detroit team, just shoved Lisa Leslie to the floor.
cursed...

My guess for tomorrow:
Soriano
Theriot
Fukodome
Edmunds
Derosa
Ward
Fontenot
Blanco
Lily
Matt Allison - July 22, 2008
yeah, I'm sure he'll bench all of his top hitters on the same day.
sackings108 - July 22, 2008
"Top" hitters?
LOL
Matt Allison - July 22, 2008
Yeah, you're right. Nobody slumps. good point.
sackings108 - July 22, 2008
Talk about a monster slump...
Texas Wahoo - July 22, 2008
I'm not saying they aren't bad slumps, but to suggest that Ramirez, Soto, and Lee aren't the
top hitters on this team is just wrong.

You need to read some stats.

I bet Ward needed that homer way more than any of us.

Do any of you think
that rookie catcher would let going 0 – 2 and allowing 2 stolen bases in the All Star game effect him this much? Maybe I am reaching.
louslovechild - July 22, 2008
I think DLee is depressed he didn't make it

I made the MEMO silly
brownbuddha - July 22, 2008
As the Blog Police I will decide for you
brownbuddha - July 22, 2008
NBF,
this time I agree with you.
Mr W - July 22, 2008
Well, trying to pull outside pitches for one NOT BRUCE.....

Well, notbruce…..are you really UINBDM?
crazymountain - July 22, 2008
Do you have your posting license tonight
CubsBall2202 - July 22, 2008
I think I left it in my glove compartment
You guys just can’t handle the truth about yourselves. I shudder to think how some of you behave in person.
Not Bruce Froemming - July 22, 2008
What is the truth...Miss Cleo
TheRiot Police - July 22, 2008
I'm not really one of the negative guys, Bruce, but I agree that your incessant policing is somewhat annoying.
sackings108 - July 22, 2008
i do the policing around, i am the authority
brownbuddha - July 22, 2008
Hey, I wish I didn't have to do it
But some people reap what they sow. And you know the minute this team turns it around, they’ll be the first ones back on the bandwagon.
Not Bruce Froemming - July 22, 2008
You may be right, but at the same time, just let them be and hopefully they'll go away.
sackings108 - July 22, 2008
Good idea
But it seems like they keep on coming. Driving me nuts.
Not Bruce Froemming - July 22, 2008
agree with sacking108...
just let them be. maybe some like the attention or getting under everyones skin. Reading and posting on here was easy a few weeks ago; you’d usually be able to igmore all the sarcasm and cursing to read about good baseball and follow game threads. now you its a complete reversal, i cant even follow the game anymore, its one comment about the game for every 10 on how pathetic things are!
maddux1-27-07 - July 22, 2008
Nor can you handle the truth about this team
CubsBall2202 - July 22, 2008
You can't handle the truth, NOTBRUCE.....
DUH….
I know, dance around the campfire, sing Kum BiYa…...
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
Some people just want to put their heads in the sand
That way they can ignore what is happening right in front of their very own eyes.
nji232 - July 23, 2008
Why is DLee so frustrating when he isn't playing well??? I seriously get so mad at him...
when I know it is irrational….probably the expectations that he was gonna play like a god for us…..
razzpunk - July 22, 2008
It's because he shows so little emotion.
It looks like he doesn’t care. And when they show him in the dugout, he always looks like he’s hanging his head.

Get this bum off the mound!!

The Cubs didn’t do that. He didn’t get out of the way of an inside slider. You ONLY SHOW UP WHEN THE CUBS LOSE! Go away…..
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
well, hart did something productive I guess. We may miss Hudson tomorrow.
Although I forgot, Ojeda is a cub killer.
sackings108 - July 22, 2008
Please pack your bags for daytona Hart
CubsBall2202 - July 22, 2008
Bad idea to plunk a D' Back at this stage
Cubs are going to see some serious payback for that tomorrow. Better wear the body armor.
MDBNIU - July 22, 2008
we need something to get us going
Blaze22 - July 22, 2008
Careful what you wish for
Because if I am the D’Backs then I go head hunting for a major Cub hitter tomorrow.
MDBNIU - July 22, 2008
yeah I am sure
they are going to try to end someones career.
bheidge - July 22, 2008
It wasn't
even intentional…....
GOD HART SUCKS
Blaze22 - July 22, 2008
Yeah, you may be right MDBNIU.....
but you are still the most negative a$$ I have ever seen. Show up when the Cubs are winning for a change, eh?
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
Don't worry too much
Even if they did come after one of your batters, Doug Davis is starting for the Diamondbacks tomorrow. His fastball barely leaves a bruise.
kishi - July 23, 2008
Micah Owings, if he comes in to relieve, on the other hand....
with the 2nd most HBPs in MLB….
DbacksSkins - July 23, 2008
I highly doubt a hit by pitch well get us going
CubsBall2202 - July 22, 2008
a bench-clearing brawl probably would
let some of our hitters release a little frustration
bheidge - July 22, 2008
then they would get
some extra rest
JPetey - July 22, 2008
yeah I am sure Hart
was aiming for his…..leg.
bheidge - July 22, 2008
if Hart hit his ankle, he was probably head hunting...he is having a rough night. ugh.
Poor guy. He has faced all 9 batters.
LAcarl519 - July 22, 2008
Wasn't intentional tho
bad luck he jumped into a bad curve from a AAA pitcher.
Matt Allison - July 22, 2008
Plus we all know their intended target would be soriano up and in
CubsBall2202 - July 22, 2008
If I were them then I'd go after Soriano tomorrow too
That’s the way of baseball. Orlando Hudson is seriously hurt. It doesnt’ matter whether Hart was going after him or not.
MDBNIU - July 22, 2008
Is that how they did it at...NIU?
sackings108 - July 22, 2008
That's how the game is played my friend
Lou Piniella is sitting in that dugout right now knowing full well Bob Melvin is going to have somebody drill a Cubbie tomorrow.
MDBNIU - July 22, 2008
shut up
I played college baseball too. I was a starting pitcher all four years. You don’t go headhunting for a clearly unintentional beanball. You just don’t. Shut up.
mambochicken23 - July 22, 2008
You're wrong
MDBNIU - July 22, 2008
seriously.
All kidding aside, all snarkiness aside. I am not Drewish. I am not Gary Varsho. I have never posted here under another name. Seriously.
mambochicken23 - July 23, 2008
Lay off, man
It looked like an unintentional HBP to me, and I’m a Diamondbacks fan.

Just accept it. I wish somebody would go headhunting for him.

crazymountain - July 23, 2008
Like we did against the Giants when they hit us a couple times?
Oh, wait, we didn’t.
carmen_fanzone - July 22, 2008
or how we went headhunting
when soriano got hit and put on the DL
bheidge - July 22, 2008
D'Backs are in first place and have a rout going
Big difference versus the scenario that happened with the lowly Giants. I dont’ care if Hart wasn’t gunning for Hudson, Cubs ARE going to feel this one.
MDBNIU - July 22, 2008
WHO CARES
brownbuddha - July 22, 2008
What exactly are they going to feel?
sackings108 - July 22, 2008
Not if the ump
stops it before anythng gets started.
sue369 - July 22, 2008
haha
I dont think you understand a baseball players mentality at all. Unless you have John Rocker up there pitching
bheidge - July 22, 2008
Perhaps you are the one that doesn't understand
Hart drilled one of the dbacks key players with first base clearly open and him being beaten like a rag doll on the mound, intentional or not, the dbacks are most likely going to have some sort of payback, thats how the game is played like it or not
CubsBall2202 - July 22, 2008
Not always.
sue369 - July 22, 2008
Who did we hit with "payback" when that pitcher knocked out Soriano?
Oh, wait, we didn’t retaliate.
carmen_fanzone - July 22, 2008
We should have, though......
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
he drilled him
on the lower part of his leg, if Hart could spot his pitches that well he wouldnt have been in that jam
bheidge - July 22, 2008
Yep
MDBNIU - July 22, 2008
No.
No. No. No.
NO.
You don’t know what you’re talking about. Accidental beanballs happen. Professional ballplayers can tell the difference between unintentional and intentional HBP. That difference matters. What the fuck is the point of punishing someone for an accident?
mambochicken23 - July 22, 2008
Get back to us in 24 hours
MDBNIU - July 22, 2008
will do. nobody will get beaned
sackings108 - July 22, 2008
I ask again...
You’re an idiot.
mambochicken23 - July 22, 2008
Plus the umps
will have control of things from the start of the game.
sue369 - July 22, 2008
Doubt it, Sue...
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
I have a feeling
they will.
sue369 - July 23, 2008
Wuertz
should be back up soon
bheidge - July 22, 2008
BTW... Hart continuing to "scuffle" says our boy Len
Maybe somebody should show him the definition of scuffle.
sackings108 - July 22, 2008
I think Hart went screaming past a scuffle
and is currently in a schnide.
bheidge - July 22, 2008
Lou's going to walk out to the mound with his plane ticket to Iowa
and tell Hart, “I am not handing you this ticket until you get two more outs!”
LAcarl519 - July 22, 2008
Another out... Woohoo
Texas Wahoo - July 22, 2008
Well the Kevin Hart experiment is over....what next???
Can DWard pitch???? Because seeing him and Hoffpauir in the outfield together is like seeing 3 1st baseman playing on the same field…..
razzpunk - July 22, 2008
Hart should pack it in
Next stop, Iowa.
Not Bruce Froemming - July 22, 2008
We don't want him here....we are in 1st place....and we already took Wuertz off your hands!
razzpunk - July 22, 2008
Is that negativity??
sackings108 - July 22, 2008
No, in this case
it’s reality. Long-term lack of success—not just 4-5 games. That’s the difference.
Not Bruce Froemming - July 22, 2008
I repeat I am not negative
But they have not really played well since Soriano got hurt and they have not played well on the Road all year.
Maybe Soriano is the difference…
TheRiot Police - July 22, 2008
Shhh He is a useless headcase who we would be better off without
nji232 - July 22, 2008
You don't know
how much I’m hoping that’s the case.
sue369 - July 22, 2008
it doesnt help that
Lee, Ramirez, Fukudome and Soto have been slumping since then.
bheidge - July 22, 2008
Could it be because
Dome moved from his comfort spot in the lineup. Ramirez lost Dome behind him, and Soto had to move up in the lineup.
Soriano’s return should fix those problems
nji232 - July 22, 2008
its the white sox curse
The cubs have not been the same since the sox swept their ass.
tedinSoCal - July 22, 2008
They have like one big team ass?
sackings108 - July 22, 2008
they took

and the cardinals, in STL.
sackings108 - July 22, 2008
Why doesn't Gaudin pitch more?
Seriously, Hart is allowed to bury the Cubs but Gaudin pitches to one batter. I still have no idea what he can do.

razzpunk - July 22, 2008
Kevin Hart has pitched his last game under Lou Piniella
He might as well cut to the chase and head to Sky Harbor Airport right now.
MDBNIU - July 22, 2008
You really are just the king of hyperbole.
Why don’t you just start your own blog where you can make unfounded proclamations and leave the rest of us alone.
sackings108 - July 22, 2008
In this case, I'd bet that's accurate.

OK.....all ledge...jumpers...
If the Cubs ccould just manage to play .500 ball the rest of the year….
They will win 90 games.
Do I think that enough to win the NL central….? NO…BUT…..
I do think they will play a little beter than that…..bUT also….92 or 93 might not bee enough either….BUT that said…if the turds and suds can win 95+......more power to ‘em
kcjones - July 22, 2008
Well
Sheets and Sabathia, not to mention Carpenter and Wainwright, might have something to say about the outcome of the 2008 NL Central Race.
MDBNIU - July 22, 2008
Zambrano and Harden
Will probably get their two cents in. Not worried about this team at all, these hitters are too good to stay this cold for long. Not to mention Soriano coming back should provide some sort of boost to the offense
bheidge - July 22, 2008
Three best teams in the National League sit in the National League Central
This thing is going to be a dogfight until 162 games are in the books.
MDBNIU - July 22, 2008
another cliche from blue mike? shocking...
sackings108 - July 22, 2008
.....
and if they can’t play .500 (ish) ball the rest of the year….they DONT deserve to be in the playoffs….and I agree….the Turds and Suds aren’t going away…just makes some squandered opportunities earlier this year hurt that much more….not that the Cubs own the market on squnadered opportunities.
kcjones - July 22, 2008
Not that...
anybody from the NL west deserves to be there…(at least at this point in time)
kcjones - July 23, 2008
Remember when we had a 5.5 game lead last week?
gocubs40 - July 22, 2008

I can kinda sorta understand Don Sutton and company being a little testy having watched Orlando Hudson go down in a heap too.
MDBNIU - July 22, 2008
give it a rest.
sackings108 - July 22, 2008
F*ck 'em. Our star went down in a heap too about 6 weeks ago...
carmen_fanzone - July 22, 2008
Not in a blowout, and not against a 1st place team
MDBNIU - July 22, 2008
Both teams that got a star hit by a pitch were in first place.
So, if we were the Giants tonight hitting Hudson, it’d be okay?
carmen_fanzone - July 22, 2008
you're more concerned about Hudson going down than you were about Soriano getting a broken hand
OH WAIT, I forgot… Soriano is a guess-hitting hack.
Never mind. It’s a good thing he’d been out of the lineup for weeks.

Is there a link on net to webcast of this?
Also, is the 670 the score webcast the same as whats on the internet?
Blaze22 - July 22, 2008
All they can do is keep playing hard
this slump will not last much longer IMO. They are playing hard, hitting the ball pretty good – right at someone – and their pitching (except for Marshalll and Hart) has been outstanding. Hopefully it will end tomorrow. Like Bob said, if you have to lose two of three, then let the win be on getaway day.
Mr W - July 22, 2008

MDBNIU I have a question for you,
are you saying that Kevin Hart intentionally threw at Hudson with the intent to do serious physical damage, even perhaps cause him to be out for the rest of the season?
Mr W - July 22, 2008
what has Marshall done wrong?
he has pitched well! at least the last i saw….did he pitch poorly tonight?
IheartGeo - July 22, 2008
yes
bad control… wild pitches… generally ugly. Hasn’t gotten much work lately.
mambochicken23 - July 22, 2008
when was the last time he pitched?
the last i saw him pitch was the game where he came in and pitched two scoreless innings after we gave up 7 runs to the gians in the 8th and 9th inning at wrigley
IheartGeo - July 23, 2008
No, I dont' think Hart was throwing at Hudson
But it don’t matter. Not late in a blowout against a 1st place opponent. And in a game where you clearly are playing like crap and frustration is bound to flare.
MDBNIU - July 22, 2008
yawn...
you don’t know what you’re talking about.
How bad was your college baseball team if this is the wisdom your coach gave to you?
mambochicken23 - July 22, 2008
Whatever
Guess what, you’ve made my All Star ignore list. You’re in good company. Lots of drool monkeys and doorknobs who know jack scratch about baseball.

Wow that's rich.
sue369 - July 22, 2008
On the positive side you'll never be on my ignore list
I’m a sucker for diehard Cubbie fans from Iowa. Sue, I know you actually are one of the smartest and most objective Cubbie fans on this blog. And for that it is a better place.
MDBNIU - July 23, 2008
Yeah is that why
last year you called me the C word? That was reall classy by the way.
sue369 - July 23, 2008
whoa
Seriously, sue? I wasn’t around for that.
How’s he still allowed to post here?
mambochicken23 - July 23, 2008
Al banned him but
he keeps finding ways to get back on here.
sue369 - July 23, 2008
I did not call you cute
I’m a happily married man of 16 years. Seriously Sue, you need to understand that Fred down at the feed mill is the right man for you.
MDBNIU - July 23, 2008
My husband would like
to have a word with you.
sue369 - July 23, 2008
You think we should call Fred and have him weigh in on the subject too?
Seriously, you’re good stuff Sue. One of the top 10 contributors to the sight. You hate my guts but that doesn’t matter. After all it’s not like we are team of neurosurgeons debating cure for cancer on this blog.
MDBNIU - July 23, 2008
i'm a neurosurgeon
RightFieldSucks - July 23, 2008
ROFL!!!!!!!
Mr W - July 23, 2008
Now that is cool
MDBNIU - July 23, 2008
I got my B.A. in Neuroscience...
mambochicken23 - July 23, 2008
If I'm good stuff you
wouldn’t have told me what I could do to myself last year and then called me a name. That is who you really are. People on here are seeing that more and more every time you post.
sue369 - July 23, 2008
I certainly have seen it.
Mike is a detriment to the board, no doubt about it.
sackings108 - July 23, 2008
Me too,
I didn’t realize how far he can really go. Well, I flagged him. Whether Al does anything about it remains to be seen.
Mr W - July 23, 2008
Hey look everybody
Drewish comes in very many forms. Norman Bates would be proud. Hey Mr. Neurosurgeon, do any of your colleague dabble in psychiatry at the institute?
MDBNIU - July 23, 2008
I don't know about Drewish and his many forms,
but we all know that there is only one form of BlueMike, and we all wish it would go away. ASAP.
sackings108 - July 23, 2008
wait!
I thought I was Drewish!
mambochicken23 - July 23, 2008
Everybody is Drewish. Mike figured it out. The jig is up guys.
sackings108 - July 23, 2008
on the other hand...
he does give everyone on the board something to unite against.
mambochicken23 - July 23, 2008
If I have ever done something to offend you then I am sorry
Because seriously, you are one of the fine cornerstones of this blog. This blog loses you and its a worse space. I’m not joking around here. It is clear that you are longtime diehard who knows this team and has cried with this team for many years. You and I are cut from the same cloth. I have great respect for you.
MDBNIU - July 23, 2008
sounds fair to me
Blaze22 - July 23, 2008
If that's directed at me,
appreciate the words, but your apology should be to sue369, not me.
Mr W - July 23, 2008
If you have done something
to offend me? You know damn well you did because it got you banned. I really wish Al would just ban you again.
sue369 - July 23, 2008
Sounds good to me
When a blog about the Cubs devolves into psychotic individuals scurrying to Best Buy to purchase a couple of other computers so they can come up with a couple of other login IDs so they can make the subject matter of BCB about me instead of the Cubs? Well then it is time for me to severely curtail my participation. Creepy factor has settled in here at BCB.
Anyway Sue, you are one of the best on this blog despite your sour thinking on me.
MDBNIU - July 23, 2008
I really don't understand why you're even here...
if that’s how you truly feel about this blog. Like a dog returning to his vomit?
santoswoodenlegs - July 23, 2008
Uncle
You win chief.
MDBNIU - July 23, 2008
he also...
just said that you are cut from the same cloth as him. If that’s not a direct insult, I don’t know what is.
mambochicken23 - July 23, 2008
Guess what Drewish
You win. I’m not going to participate in the psychotic doings of an anonymous blog poster.
MDBNIU - July 23, 2008
seriously.
Seriously, I have never, ever posted here under a different name. Honestly. All kidding and snarkiness aside.
Get a grip.
mambochicken23 - July 23, 2008
Yeah that was
really creepy.
sue369 - July 23, 2008
MDBNIU
You are way, way, way out of line.
Mr W - July 23, 2008
as opposed to the usual...
mambochicken23 - July 23, 2008
That's awesome.
Tonight is my third time posting on this site, ever. How quickly did the rest of the drool monkeys get on this spectacular list? Am I the fastest? I hope so. I must have struck a nerve.
You are a sad individual, Mikey.
mambochicken23 - July 23, 2008
yes, yes he is.
Consider it a positive to be on whatever list that is.
sackings108 - July 23, 2008
One last post
Can’t fool me. You’re one of the usual suspects around here who apparently created a new login. You gave yourself away 30 minutes ago.
MDBNIU - July 23, 2008
Paranoid much?
carmen_fanzone - July 23, 2008
lol +1
mambochicken23 - July 23, 2008
It's Drewish ladies and gentleman
Darkhorse candidate is Gary Varsho. But my vote is Drewish.
MDBNIU - July 23, 2008
When do the polls close?
I always want to do my civic duty.
carmen_fanzone - July 23, 2008
wow
You’re a total nutjob, Mike.
mambochicken23 - July 23, 2008
for what it's worth, Mikey
this is another matter on which you’re completely and utterly wrong. I have never been on here before under another name. Maybe Al can verify this… I imagine he has the website registration information for everyone here.
mambochicken23 - July 23, 2008
Ehhhhh.....wrong answer
Ignored Drewish. Goodnight.
MDBNIU - July 23, 2008
I'm listening online to WGN 720..
They are talking about 3’s company..IS this same thing post game will be on?
Blaze22 - July 22, 2008
Agreed.
I also believe someone from our Cubs is gonna hit the deck. That’s how the D’Backs are.
ARAM FOR MVP - July 22, 2008
How are they?
sackings108 - July 22, 2008
How are they?
Since I live in AZ, I see this team, and this is how they are. A hard nosed young team.
ARAM FOR MVP - July 23, 2008
What do you mean, "it doesn't matter"?
I think it matters a lot! The kid was trying to get an out, he was wild and accidently hit the batter on the leg. He didn’t throw at his head.
I would be shocked if Arizona throws at a Cub tomorrow over this.
Mr W - July 23, 2008
Blue Mike
doesn’t know what he’s taking about.
mambochicken23 - July 23, 2008
Pls share postgame lou-isms to those of us outside radio range
West Coast Diehard - July 22, 2008
Pat Hughes doing his postgame right now
MDBNIU - July 22, 2008
And let me guess, in typical Pat fashion, all is well.
That guy lives in la-la-land. I am certain that he will finish with, “Well, let’s get out here tomorrow and see if we can get one!”
When they lose tomorrow, I can only hope that whatever food they get to eat on the plane ride home makes them sick. They deserve it.
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
Pat just said goodnight, next should be Corey Provus
MDBNIU - July 23, 2008
Have some respect. Gee.
ARAM FOR MVP - July 23, 2008
So your night is made better by trolling on a Cubs message board?
sackings108 - July 23, 2008
Me?
ARAM FOR MVP - July 23, 2008
no, I was replying to Illini
sackings108 - July 23, 2008
Ok Sorry
ARAM FOR MVP - July 23, 2008
no prob
sackings108 - July 23, 2008
Are you talking to me?
ARAM FOR MVP - July 23, 2008
What do you want him to say?
“Well, lets get out here tomorrow and stink the joint up again”?
Mr W - July 23, 2008
You're a lil ray of sunshine, aren't ya?
carmen_fanzone - July 23, 2008
Lil Hamster play of the game
sackings108 - July 23, 2008
no lou
RightFieldSucks - July 23, 2008
Still no lou
CubsBall2202 - July 23, 2008
He'll be on in a few.
sackings108 - July 23, 2008
Hopefully Lou is spraying urine all over the locker room.
Separate from the fact that Lou will make more money than I will ever see, I still feel for him. He has to be beyond burning inside.
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
Ugly visual
n/t
DrCrawdad - July 23, 2008
Damn....no more Cubbie coverage on WGN radio
Pat Hughes signed off and that is it.
MDBNIU - July 23, 2008
nothin on the score?
Blaze22 - July 23, 2008
score is playing the dan patrick show
sackings108 - July 23, 2008
yeah, that sucks. what about comcast?
sackings108 - July 23, 2008
Probably nothing
until their morning show.
sue369 - July 23, 2008
gameday audio went off too
RightFieldSucks - July 23, 2008
Lou probably is kickin ass.
ARAM FOR MVP - July 23, 2008
Lou may be spending time in the locker room
instead of talking on the radio
West Coast Diehard - July 23, 2008
Haha
Larussa’s post game comments were pretty interesting too..
Blaze22 - July 23, 2008
Too bad profanity is not permissible on live feeds
I would love to hear Lou do his best Elia immatation.
Now the pressure begins for the starters. Since they know they are stuck with a bunch of suck ass hitters, they know that they will have to be damn near perfect in order to have a chance to win. That results in these guys trying to make the perfect pitch each time out. That leads to walks, hard hit balls, and the Cubs getting bitch slapped by 8 runs.
Again, October can not come soon enough.
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
Man, this is a really ugly board......
there are lots of Blue Mikes here…....all the ones who are the “gang”, the regulars, cannot take one bit of criticism of the Cubs….the Blue Mikes cannot take anything positive about the CUBS…..one is as bad as the other. Shit.
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
great post.
sackings108 - July 23, 2008
LSA..
cubsnlinux - July 23, 2008
I think that's mostly fair...
But I think that NBF’s posts haven’t been out of line for the most part. I think that he’d agree that we suck right now.
mambochicken23 - July 23, 2008
Agreed, we do suck right now.
Nice post.
Itchy - July 23, 2008
Not Bruce posted 2nite?
kcjones - July 23, 2008
Sure did, kc
And right now, no, the Cubs aren’t very good. At least their offense isn’t.
The big difference is that based on past performances, I expect them to snap out of it very soon. And unlike many around here, I don’t think this is the beginning of the end, or the other shoe dropping, etc., etc.
Not Bruce Froemming - July 23, 2008
You are not
alone in those feelings.
sue369 - July 23, 2008
On another note...
has anyone found out if Lou is doing a press conference tonight..
Blaze22 - July 23, 2008
Define a 'slump'
Seems to me that many think that the Cubs have just been in an itsy-witsy slump as of late.
Well, for all of you crack smokers, try an 8-9 record in the month of July. For the team that still has the best record in the NL, that is beyond unacceptable. Also, that is a 17 game straight run (more than 10% of the season) that has been under .500.
I would love to know why people think this is a mere abberation. Oh, wait, my bad. I forgot, they are the Cubs. All will be well, just like it has been for 100 years.
Got it. Thanks.
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
We get it, you think your clever because you can troll after the loss. Yep, 100 years, etc. Good stuff.
sackings108 - July 23, 2008
Good stuff? You mean like Ram swinging like a monkey trying to F a football?
Again, he can rot. Go back to the D.R. and open up a chain of cock fighting locales. He is dead to me.
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
If things don't turn around when our all-star outfielder comes back then I might be scared...
until then i still believe…
Blaze22 - July 23, 2008
IlliniHimey, I am a relative newcomer, 3 months at the outside....
I have never seen your name here. Granted I post rarely, but I read often. I have no clue what a troll is but I do know what assholes are. And you ARE one…...
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
FLAGGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Asshole? Me?
Well, tis better to be an asshole than a cum stain. And you, sir, are the blotches that may be found all over the comforters of American’s hotel chains.
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
Are you 12 years old or just really drunk?
This is embarrassing to watch.
santoswoodenlegs - July 23, 2008
Yeah, kind of a train wreck, huh?
I am a 12 year old that is drunk.
Watching the Cubs does drive one to drink, doesn’t it?
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
Man you are brave behind a keyboard......
you are an asswipe of the first class….and, if you want to crawl out of your ass and meet like a man, I will be in Chicago in a week…..So you want to tell me where you will be? I will be at the Ambassador. Look me up. I will leave this name, crazymountain at the desk. Meet me punk.
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
There is that 'ass' comment again.
Asshole, now asswipe. So, I must now refer to you as a cum shot, as opposed to being a cum stain.
I am curious. Why would you like to meet with me? I have an idea, but I was wondering if you could be stooooopid enough to share it with everyone on this board?
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
Well, I think you need a good ass kickin' is all.....
so, you a minor? Got a problem? You think you are special? I WILL kick your ass, sonny.
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
GOD. Thank you for this. Really, thank you.
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
dude
it’s not a threat. he doesn’t know who you are. how could he threaten your safety?
this kids gotta be a brewers fan
joeschmitt - July 23, 2008
wow, a liberal...
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
I do have to warn you, I will be armed....
I will not have my thumbs amputated before we meet, fair enough? After all, my thumbs are more dangerous than your gun OR your keyboard. Punk
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
Crazy mountain
ENOUGH. Seriously. Flag him like I did and be done. This is’t a fight worth having!
halfblindcubbiegirl - July 23, 2008
You are too late. Dummass here already made the documented threat.
Simply amazing. His janitorial engineering career will be over.
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
LET IT GO
you’ve been flagged. al’s been alerted. baiting people into things reeks of 12. knock it off, go away. grow up whatever. just DROP this.
halfblindcubbiegirl - July 23, 2008
Let it go.
This guy is history after tonight.
sue369 - July 23, 2008
Sorry, gals, IF this is a man, he needs an asskickin', it is obvious his parents never disciplined him.
I refuse to back off from some chicken-sh&t behind a keyboard. I have my thumbs, I am not worried. Oh, yeah, I also walk with a cane. Guess I will have my wife hold that for me.
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
Cane? Is that some sort of slang for 'Johnson' or 'chubby'?
Confused me, as you said your wife will be holding it.
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
No sonny, it is for walking.....
I sure wouldn’t want you to say I had a weapon…..As I said, I have my thumbs…..now go back to your mommy’s bed, ok? Do not trade jabs with men…...
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
crazy. i will flag you too
LET IT GO
halfblindcubbiegirl - July 23, 2008
How does one go about flagging?
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
advanced html wizardry
not for n0o8z
joeschmitt - July 23, 2008
Oh! Must be that Missouri degree you have.
Quinny Snyder still banging the heiress of Wal-Mart?
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
your illini heritage is hereby confirmed
altho u were sposed to spell it “misery”

joeschmitt - July 23, 2008
'your mommy's bed'?
I don’t sleep with my mommy. Now, your wife on the other hand, yum!
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
Seriously dude,
you need to go to bed and sleep it off.
Mr W - July 23, 2008
Yum is right, sonny!!!! Too bad you will never know a woman so good as she is......
and I meant as a person, sonny…..
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
My apologies to y'all....
I have never been on a place where folks type….I guess I just don’t get it. I just figure if a man is a man, then stand up. But, bring your lunch.
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
What planet are you from?
What is for lunch?
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
You just verified for me that you are a pre-teen at mommy's computer....
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
Yep, I am sitting on your wife's lap as we speak.
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
that means crazy's your father
joeschmitt - July 23, 2008
I know, isn't that CRAZY?
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
don't feed him
its really not worth it. flag him and be done
halfblindcubbiegirl - July 23, 2008
crazymountain,
you and I are probably around the same age (I’m 58), so I understand your anger with this guy. But, please don’t stoop to his level. I, and a lot of others, have flagged this guy. Let Al take it from here. O.K.?
Mr W - July 23, 2008
You are right, Mr. W......Like I said, I am not a "blog" person....
I have lived in the real world all my life. I reckon I should just give up this registration and live my happy life. NO ONE in the real world would say those things to me, I guarantee it. Why do I know this? Because no one ever has talked this way to me. I reckon I will just live my more than happy life and leave the typing to y’all. And, first thing is to get this centipede on the table (it has been raining here) and they are poisonous…...I will just think of it as this kid that I have never seen type anything here…..
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
this type exist on every internet forum
this is a troll. the type you do not feed.
blue mike maybe obnoxious, but at least he’s rarely gone here.
halfblindcubbiegirl - July 23, 2008
Not a troll. More like a hobbit!
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
I STILL do not know what a troll is.....
so what IS an internet troll?
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
This guy is a troll.
the most accurate definition.
someone who baits, swears and then tries to twist things into a “point” just to get his rocks off.
You’ve been feeding him. thats why he’s gotten so noxious.
halfblindcubbiegirl - July 23, 2008
DING DING DING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have a wiener!!!!!!!!!
With one correction. Again, I am a hobbit.,
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
Troll:
One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument.
Mr W - July 23, 2008
Well, I reckon I should give this up then....
G’bye!!!!
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
BUH BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
Adios, my friend.
Mr W - July 23, 2008
you don't have to leave
and we’ll miss you.
its just the interwebz. you get losers like that guy all the time. Don’t let him win.
The real non troll cubs fans will miss you. :-)
halfblindcubbiegirl - July 23, 2008
Yeah, the 'realists' will miss you.
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
If you leave
you let him win. I doubt we will be seeing him around any more. His fan post is gone like I thought it would be and I bet he’s one too.
sue369 - July 23, 2008
LOL

joeschmitt - July 23, 2008
your link was kinda broken
this should work better
halfblindcubbiegirl - July 23, 2008

joeschmitt - July 23, 2008
lol
funny how that works, huh?
halfblindcubbiegirl - July 23, 2008
uhhhh, ooops
crazy, click here to learn about message board trolls u silly guy. haven’t you heard of the google or searching the internets?
joeschmitt - July 23, 2008
a wager...
I bet you $50 you can’t find a single team in the last 50 years that didn’t have an 8-9 stretch during the course of a season.
mambochicken23 - July 23, 2008
sorry bud, but the 2001 Mariners didn't have a single 8-9 stretch.
sackings108 - July 23, 2008
really?
ouch.
mambochicken23 - July 23, 2008
please paypal $50 to
sackings108@bcb.com
/no, don’t, i’m JK’n
joeschmitt - July 23, 2008
And their WS rings...
are STILL on hold.
santoswoodenlegs - July 23, 2008
oh, I never said they won the WS, just was answering the original poster.
sackings108 - July 23, 2008
I know...i was just making the point...
that a regular season record means nada in the playoffs.
santoswoodenlegs - July 23, 2008
Oh Yeah
The 2006 cardinals lost 8 straight in Late July-early August…Including 4 at wrigley..Oh and then they lost 7 straight from sept. 20th to sept. 26th. They then won the WS a month later…
Blaze22 - July 23, 2008
Really true Santos
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
whoops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
meant to add that the “playoff” system sucks. The two best records should meet in the WS. Period. 116 wins and not even a league ring. Something is REALLY wrong…
crazymountain - July 23, 2008
The
1999 yankees lost 5 of 6 games to the Royals and Red Sox in September with only a 1 game lead and still won the WS. I don’t think we need to start freaking out yet…
Blaze22 - July 23, 2008
no...
by all means…freak out.
santoswoodenlegs - July 23, 2008
+10000000000
mkcubs21 - July 23, 2008
The early 80's teams at NIU never did...
or so I hear.
santoswoodenlegs - July 23, 2008
I heard the other teams just forfeited when they heard a guy with the
baseball acumen of BlueMike was on the NIU team.
sackings108 - July 23, 2008
You can play well and go 8-9.
While I do not disagree with you, my issue is HOW they are playing and losing.
I don’t have the time, but if I were a betting man, I am guessing that the Brewers have not had a stretch this year where they have been so abyssmal with the bats.
I would trade their 1-8 for ours in a second.
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
haha
Blaze22 - July 23, 2008
only a brewers fan would say that
Cubs 1-8:
.279 / .355 / .439 110 HRs 489 RBIs
Brewers 1-8
.256 / .326 / .442 131 HRs 452 RBIs
joeschmitt - July 23, 2008
Since 6/21...............
Cubs BA: .262
Brewers BA: .286
Sabathia and Sheets vs. Z and Harden. Call the pitching even.
Riding the Brewers bats. The stats don’t lie!
IlliniHimey - July 23, 2008
nice month
we’ll see in October. i think our guys will have outlasted ur guys
joeschmitt - July 23, 2008
Not my guys.
I only attend Brewers games because a friend has tix right behind home plate.
Safe to say, you could throw out most any form of Cub trivia, and I could probably answer it. I would doubt a Brewer fan would do it.
1981, Cubs @ Reds. Bump Wills leads off the opening game with a hr.
1984, Rick Sutcliffe, 16 and 1 with the Cubs. 4 and 5 with the Indians.
1984, which Cub reliever was left off of the playoff roster, even though he pitched all season and had an ERA around 3.20? Rich Bordi.

It's a shame that such...
a knowledgeable cub fan like yourself…can’t discuss a team having a rough time in a more respectable manner.

he's a brewers fan
brewers fans know everything about the Cubs. they are obsessed.

Here's what I think,
the Cubs are in a very bad hitting slump right now, but hitting slumps come to an end.

I agree. Lou is a smart
man. He knows not to kick his team when they are down. I’m sure he did talk with them and they all understand that things have to change. Now they just have to work to get it turned around.
sue369 - July 23, 2008
Absolutely!
they need to relax and play the game like they did when they were kids – let it be fun again. These guys are as tight as can be. I haven’t seen them this tense all season.
Just relax guys, it will come.
Mr W - July 23, 2008
Yep.
I seriously need to get to bed. Let’s hope for a win tomorrow night to take us back home and get four more going into Milwaukee.
Night.
Go Cubs!!!
sue369 - July 23, 2008
Adios!
Mr W - July 23, 2008
I agree...BUT
someone has to sit DLee down and show him video of Derrek hitting the outside pitch to RF with authority.

OT
Have you guys seen the fight in Detroit between the Sparks and the Comets. Rick Mahorn, a coach on the Detroit team, just shoved Lisa Leslie to the floor.
Mr W - July 23, 2008

and expect a lot of “What’s the point” and “I work for __” comments from me tomorrow.
