RAMI!!!!! 4-2 Cubs!
Aramis Ramirez would like you to stop worrying so much about him.
Nice way to Start'er Back Up
Yes!

Fly ball pitcher is just what we need!

ARAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
I love your links northsider
All the ladies do.
Hey, Hey!

Yessssss Aramissssssssss!

I love Aramis!
Ron does as well

he approves rami!

That was fun. :)
SLUMPBUSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ARAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carrie Muskat

Someone ask for me? I thought the Pattersons were both far away from St Louis today!

Your turn, Jimmy!
Thus endeth the Ramirez batting 8th debate
Is Aramis spanish for clutch?
Actually, it's Spanish for rooster ;)
Jimmy Ballgame walks

Shaping up as a possible big inning…

BB Edmonds, nobody out
isn't that

Jimmy’s first time on base in this series?

burn up that Card pen
Jeanne

sounded MUCH less enthusiastic about A-Ram’s HR.

Rami is so underrated
Well, of course

He’s not THE GREAT ALBERT PUJOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!

also not Manny
Well, all Yankees and Red Sox are great

That goes without saying

1-29,

but I’ll take it!

or 1-1, depending on how you look at it.

small sample size be damned… ;-)

I do believe it's Geo time...
????

Was that a Cards fan who caught the ball and turned to show it to the fans like he was proud??

lol

That’s what it looked like to me.

Yeah, that was odd.
morans
that's what I was thinking
need to "get a brain"

go usa

or get a brian
I had a Brian once

.... he was kind of a jerk.

he's prolly been drinking since yesterday

i’ll cut him some slack. drunk ball catching is hard work… or thats how i’ve heard it

How old was he?
Late 20s I thought.
old enough to drink

And it looked like his buddy came over to hug him too!!! Gotta love em

Cotts for another inning? Or....shudder.....Marmol now that we have a lead?
depends on how the rest of the top half plays out, probably
save Marmol

for the Reds

If we break the game open here

Bring in Marmol

never thought i'd EVER see that sentence
Gotta figure it's time for Marmol

To get back on that horse.

Brian Barton

Should not be playing for St Louis with his affiliations to Red Stripe beer.

Cotts.

Save Marmol for later.

Soto bloops a hit

Edmonds to third!!!!

Geo with the bloop, nice hustle Edmonds to 3rd
Keep the line movin!

to quote BB

get on that merry-go-round!
Round and round and round they go!
oh, MAN!

Edmonds out at the plate???

Frak!

Should've held up.
wtf

How do you not score on that?

Perfect throw--a rocket--from Ludwick

Molina had the plate blocked, just got him.

Momentum Changer

CRAP

c'mon
still got another out
I think the Rami homer was the momentum changer
nah

we’re up by two. That’s better than yesterday.

Edmonds

Belly Flops/Face Flops on to home

What happened?
yes

please explain!!

Deep fly to Ludwig

he throws home and gets Edmonds.;-(

Deep fly to ludwick

made a great throw to gun out jed at the plate

Walking Hamster
walking Fonty?
Edmonds

needs some new legs.(sigh)

it was a great throw
true dat too
I thought with the double clutch by the outfielder Edmonds was going to be in.
Fontenot IBB.
Wow.

That might be a career first

Really makes no sense to me when Ward's on the bench.
TLR is having an off day
No. He's reinventing the game!!!!

We’re just too stupid to understand

oh i forgot thats the new propaganda
Oh man

that must’ve been a great throw

Sounded like it.
Come on DWARD!!!!
Edmonds slowed himself down by watching Ludwick.

Should’ve just went full steam the whole way. But It was an awesome throw, nonetheless.

Edmonds

Is he shaving runs to get the St Louis fans off his back…..(insert gay joke here).

lame

and not cool

damn. inning over dward pops out
One pitch, one out

ugh.

poop
On the bright side, we're winning.
ever the voice of reason :-}
Dward, first pitch fly out...

crap

HOLD THAT LEAD
+1

Marmol retribution time?

I think you mean redemption.
Sure

Whatever means 1-2-3

I think he owes us some retribution too!
PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kangaroo/Hamster

Daryl Ward was thrown off by Fontenot not being in his pouch.

you are really either trying too hard

or just not funny.

I'm going with the latter
Tough to not get more

but hopefully it won’t come back on us.

please no Marmol

Let him get his confidence back at home

rather Howry

then Wood

A bit of good news

is that the shadows will make hitting a bit more difficult the rest of the way. If the pitcher’s ball has movement it will be hard to pick up…let’s get six outs!!

Marmol is in.
Trust your stuff Carlos!
nervous

c’mon carlos.

oh please please please Carlos please please please
heart of the order
Oh boy....

Ankiel jacks a long foul ball

the breaking ball

working so far…

Wow. That was frighening, but ends up an HGH-powered foul
K!!!!

yeah! One out!

BIG OUT
every out for marmol is big at this point
Ankiel K's!!!!
Less base runners for Pujols the better

obviously

bases empty

thats how i like to see pujols ab!

That's the Marmol we know!!!
Marmol...

reach out with your FEELINGS…

Looks good...

but it also did in SF after 2 hitters…just sayin’.

zactly...

but please prove me wrong!

do not

jink the man.

I guess Lou's trusting him to get out of his funk

with this part of the lineup facing him. Come on Carlos!!!

Lou is showing confidence in Marmol
yes and I respect him for it

even though it gives me palpitations

My feelings exactly.
Me too
Lou is no dummy...

he knows the Cubs are gong nowhere without Marmol.

Agreed.

That was so great to see.

get filthy, Carlos!
Just no walks.

make them earn it.

Come on Marmol.

Please.

Pujuols

pops out to Dome!

two outs! Breaking balls all the way.

Pujols skies out to right.
one more baby!
you got your wish :)
Three outs!

YEAH! GO MARMOL!

Way to go Marmol!
HE'S BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice job Marmol!!!!!!

Marmol back on the horse
like I said

SF was soooooooooooooooo long ago! ;-)

Thank you Carlos
Right through the heart

of the order…should make Kerry’s job easier in the 9th.

let's make it a non-save situation for Woody

...even better!

Dude, if we make it non-save, I want Howry in the 9th.
Ludwick is the only power threat in the 9th. (Knock on Wood)
careful w/ kerry

we need him!

heart of the order

that shit right there should get you a save!!

atta boy, carlos!! you’ve been missed!!

WHITE CASTLE!

mmm-mmm! Tastes GOOD!

I'll take a sack of those
YAY!!!!!!!

That should boost his confidence. 1-2-3 through the heart of the order.

Good job, Carlos! Nice call, Lou!

It has to be

such a relief for Carlos. So happy to see him do so well.

I know!!!!

I’m so incredibly thrilled!!!!

Love to here Pat Say__

1-2-3 we go to the ninth Cubs over the Cardinals 4-2!!!!!

Beautiful words!
Let's give Kerry a run or two more here.
That gets my vote.
how many pitches did Woody throw yesterday?
just walked in...

glad to see Carlos back in good form.

hey bump!
Hey all!

Was listening in the car and was screaming with glee when A-Ram went yard. The guy next to me at the stop light had a Cubs hat on and gave me a thumbs up…lol..

i love moments like that
yes very nice
Well, first time

I’ve listened to an entire game on-line from one of the stations on the Cubs radio network. I thought these streams were supposed to be blacked out!

what station?
oh they are thats odd

Are you listening to an internet stream? I’m listening on MLB audio so its never blocked

Write Al...he can give you my address

I don’t want to post it in case the MLB Police are reading.

you can email me if you like

drewishdrewid AT gmail DOT com

Lets skip wood

lets bring in Leiber up 7-2

I like that idea.
I like that line of thinking
crowd so quiet you can hear the proverbial pin drop

that was the dread grey bar

you’re supposed to talk like a pirate when you see it

heh

keeping up the BCB gray bar tradition :D

I've missed that one somehow
Dome with the eye
Let's go Lee!

does anyone know how long the de-lay is on mlb.com

for which?

audio/gameday/tv?

There's no TV, it's audio/gameday.
except overseas
depends on volume

I think.

Varies

gets larger the longer you listen.

Hey Dude,

How’s the weather in Seattle? Rainy in Victoria today…

ARAM

flies out. No runs score.

Rami, flies out, on to the bottom of the ninth
WE NEED A SAVE
That was a neat

commercial.

which one?
It was a State Farm

ad and it takes place outsideof Wrigley and an older boy catches a homerun ball and ends up giving it to a younger kid. Sappy, I know.

i love that one

:-)

I hadn't seen

it but I did like it.

ack...hadn't seen it before
that sentence was fin

i understood it. it is a neat one.

I'm getting about 80% commercials for soccer matches

on FSE.

Fasten those seatbelts says Pat

... Kerry. Please. Lets make this NOT dramatic!

sue wearing your jersey?
You girls start your Geo blog yet?

NO FIREWORKS.
Just Wood's 96 mph fastballs
Kerry throwing

mid-90s

Wood

walks the first batter.

Leadoff Walk

grrrrr

Kerry. Honey. Please

3 outs? that’d be fantastic

Pretty please!!!

We need you here Kerry!!!!

I predict a double play!
so does ronnie
Ron wants the same thing.
Cmon, Kerry

screw playing around on the corners. THROW STRIKES.

screwed by the ump

F
thats the start of the word i said
GRRRRRRRRRR

i thought yadier didnt' K much?
ouch ouch ouch

Kerry, darlin’, get it together

omg

i don’t like this.

I need some

Tums for my tummy

Okay.

Freaking out.

Officially.

Come on Kerry.

I hate when this happens
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Guys this just isnt a good situation right here
nope it's not
I cannot speak

Santo is going nuts in the booth. “gee whiz” “ah shucks”

faked out the infield.

4-3 St. Louis, no outs, men on 2nd & 3rd. Walking Duncan intentionally.

well it is time for a strike out

It's going to be real tough to get out of this one...

no outs, bases loaded after the IBB

game over...

nice work, Kerry.

hey!

the game is NOT over. Take your pessimistic BS somewhere else.

Kerry do NOT do this to us!!!
We need a strikeout after this IBB in the worst way

Figures Marmol is good today, so of course Kerry messes up.

no offense but shush
NO NO NO NO NO

:(

i don't like this!!
$&@48W*
play at the plate
C'MON, TRIPLE PLAY!!!!
this is fun

bottom of the 9th

epic

i would've loved routine and uneventful
gotta be positive. . .
Izturis is Pujols' little puppy dog in the dugout

puke

everyone is getting a piece today

Ok, well we got one out
Got um at home!
Hah!

got the out at home! One out, bases still loaded.

NOW we need a double-play.

well - one out
Got the tying run
out. We got the tying run out. That's what I meant
Games with the Cardinals are definitely never boring!
1 down....nothing hurt
double play

totally do-able.

let's get the ground ball
Come on double play!
thats what I want
i just want 2 outs

w/o runs.

please let that happen
Miles gave the finger
wow - what a catch by geo
2 down

c’mon Kerrry just one more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes it was
*pshew*

Okay, let’s get the DP or a Strike out Here.

You can do this, Kerry

yes you can yes you can

that's it kerry

maybe he needs more warm up time??

sometimes... its just not as pretty

growing pains as a new closer.

Pop fly to theriot!

TWO OUTS!

Gameday audio is so slow
close it and you'll catch back up
I know I'm dying here.
Come on Kerry! Get this schmuck out!
Ok two out
Miles looks lost....come on Kerry!
Pop up - just one more out!
2 down!!!!!!!!!
2 down....nothing hurt
OMG!!!

PLEASE ONE MORE!!!!

Cmon cubs we don't want to be chasing the Cards anymore!
One strike
Everyone take a deep breath!
::nervously picks at hangnail::
Haha doin the same!
don't let drugs win!
NNOOOOOOOOOOOO
HGH at the plate

Fuck….HGH wins it with the hit

no way

please let my future be different!

let me know if that works
no

i tried hoping though.

)(*&*&%&%$^%#$(* )*&%&^$%* _O( ^&% (*&_)( .
SHIT!!!!!!!!!
fuckmefuckmefuckme
tomorrow they must win to get W for hte series
Pesky farking Cards
I hate losing to the Cardinals!

I hate this team again… I cant take this

that was painful
Totally hurt.
deep, deep hurt
hopefully you have better luck with geo jersey than i did :(
Lame.

Super lame.

Just gross...Wood got no help

Molina went around and Lee should have never been playing in…

well shit!!

that hurt..

unbelievable

glad i wasn’t there. Reminds me too much of the Brewers loss in May

Horrible to give this one away....

Walks, walks, walks..

we would've been better off with Marmol
20/20 vision

Wood had only 9 walks before today

as in -- in hindsight
yesterday we got the calls from the home plate ump and won

today they got the call from the home plate ump at the critical time and won. That’s what good teams do. Crap!

Let’s get the series tomorrow.

Hey Flag up I just flagged you for trolling get the F out of here!
"Pesky farking Cards" = trolling?

I’m not exactly sure what ‘farking’ is, but it doesn’t sound like a compliment, so how could Flag Up’s comment be considered trolling?

they hadn't won after trailing after 8 all freaking year!
I hate stats like that 'cause it just tell me they're do.....
that....

was awful.

Kerry battled though… sometimes you just don’t have it. :-(

:cries:

Tomorrow they need a 'W' TO win the series
Edmonds play at the plate

was huge. Poor decision.

Why “Get ‘em Tomorrow” when we had ‘em today???

Should have had a pinch runner or something

Edmonds is slow – that was pretty deep

Gah.

I’ll see you all tomorrow. :(

So um. No pressure Marshall

but we’re totally counting on you to not make us lose our minds.

just fing redicluous

One inning blow up… Championship teams dont let that happen…

im sick to my stomach…. The cubs will kill me

really?

pabelbon didn’t blow a single heartbreaking save last year?

grow up

Aren't you just being a bit dramatic?

In my opinion, what makes a championship team different, is that they don’t let a bad loss affect the next game or the game after that.

This team needs to act like a First place team one of these days

They did last night
Your right

but i mean act like a First place team for a series.

Is the series over?
Listen to some

and the season is over

I hope not

with Marshall pitching tommorow..

Feeling pretty confident right now?

If so, why? I’d like some hope.

Why be negative

all the time? I always go into a game thinking they will win. Good God the way some of you think would be like having one of your children being excited to play in a ball game and you saying to them, “Why? You’re just going to lose.” Nice.

even first place teams

lose in the bottom of the ninth.

Yea

but they learn to close out teams, that have been closed out so easily for the enitre year…...except by us….this FIRST PLACE TEAM

+1

it's not like

we’re playing the pirates or something. The Cards are in second place for a reason.

Bad luck for us today. Shake it off. Tomorrow is another day.

Ugh

I undersatnd where your coming from, but I dont like 100 Years like some people…i wanna win now, instead of serving up losses like these and assume they mean nothing.

you are a Rockies guy
TY

for telling me what I AM

You are a underachiever. See how it easy it is to just say you are anything i wanna say you are?

this wasn't the clinching game of the world series

it was a game in july. wow.

no one LIKES the drought. but we’re not iong to win the world series in july. and one game does not a season make.

what are you talking about?

Man. Teams LOSE. That’s why they PLAY the actual game, instead of just simulating it.

We should have had this one. Marmol was ON. But Kerry let it get away. It sucks. We hate it. And tomorrow, they play again, and hopefully we win, and move on.

Well, if you want to win now...

...perhaps you should consider coming to more Cubs games. Your signature looks pretty impressive.

Dude

shit happens. Even to first place teams

the problem wasnt

edmonds play at the plate it was wood’s whole 9th inning. Marmol does good today and wood did horrible

Woody left the slider up...

should have gone with the hard stuff…

was that geo's call?
think so..

didn’t see woody shake him off…

New rule:

If Kerry walks or hits the first batter, pull him.

he's gotten out of it before

this shit happens.

I think less than 50% of the time he gets out of it
b/c the last 3 outs are hard

and who do you bring in anyway? your closer is your closer. you ride it out. especially when he’s new at it.

+1

How the hell is he supposed to be any good at this if he’s looking over his shoulder. Honestly, people, THINK before you post. NO ONE disagreed with brining in Wood. Any idiot can critique in hindsight.

If he walks or hits the first guy

It seems to mean he doesn’t have it – because he blows the save almost every single time.

Even if he loses 75% of the time when he hits/walks the first guy?

Do you really think it’s that hard?

yes i do
Agree to disagree

I think even Howry could get a save once in 5 tries or so with a man on first and no outs.

if it isn't, why aren't there more lights-out closers in the league?

how many can you name?

saving is hard - i agree

But not so hard that it’s almost impossible to get a save when you hit or walk the first guy

he's learning on the job

the last 3 outs are different, do you agree tot hat?

he’s saved 12 straight before today. Thats pretty good.

And he’d given up baserunners too.

that is absurd

so every pitcher that gives up a runner gets yanked?

I can’t imagine why no one has let you manage a team yet.

NO!

If a pitcher blows the game 80% of the time or more when a certain event happens – then you pull him after that event.

seriously

so… Z’s not allowed to pitch on days when he’s only had 1 banana and its over 80 degrees, b/c he fails to do well everytime?

Your standards are wack.

Fine if you think that

But I wouldn’t mind a rule that where a starter gives up 4 runs in the first inning he gets pulled if he has a history of sucking after that. Obviously your standards are different for a starter because it’s still early in hte game

That's an absolutly ridiculous rule.
Great idea! (sarcasm)

Pulling Kerry shows the ultimate confidence! (sarcasm) Remember, just like Marmol, the Cubs are going nowhere without him.

If you tell him the rule beforehand - i don't see the big confidence effect
Sure, that'd REALLY solve things....

It’s a GREAT idea to have your closer looking over his shoulder all the time…..

He would be looking over his shoulder only when he walks/hits the first batter

I see it no different from pulling a starter if he gives up 5 runs in the first.

Hitting/walking the first batter has clearly shown that he doesn’t have anything that day so far this year.

you pull Z when he gives up 5 runs in the first?

I wouldn’t. you trust your ace to ride it out and get it out and keep you in the game.

i see the closer as the ace of the bullpen. same thing.

No - I wouldn't pull Z in that sitaution

But if I had the stats and every time he gives up 5 in the first he goes on to give up 12 runs in the first 4 innings, I would certainly consider it.

whatever

i don’t see where you’re coming from ont his, but I’m done. :-)

Agree to disagree.

Sounds good

Here’s hoping Wood saves the game tomorrow 1-2-3 :)

sounds good to me
girl don't waste your breathe on him

he clearly isnt worth it

Come on

Just because I have a different view point?

Of course I'm being facetious...

...though it is true that this season that almost every time Woody has walked or hit the first batter, he’s blown the save. It seems like he either has it or he doesn’t.

I'm out

See y’all later

How bout this Brewer fans get the hell out of here.
He wasn't that bad

In fact, his last two posts were pulling for the third out.

He did post "CUBS LOSE!!!"

Have fun losing your 2 fatties at year ends cheesehead!

missed that one, but so what?
ignore it

or if you can’t take people saying stupid things… don’t go on the internet.

Let it go dude....not important
No, he didn't

He posted “CUBS LOSE”

no exclamation points.

why not just ingnore them?
Rivera does what Wood could not
yes b/c rivera has never blown a save to the red sox

excpet for all those times he’s blown a save to the red sox.

Get a grip.

Did you see Wood’s #s for his last 17 appearances before today? Guys have off days. If it wasn’t for that Molina call, the inning would never have happened the way it did. Woody will be just fine as will the back end of our bullpen.

Note - I was not saying Rivera is better than Wood

I like wood as a closer – i would trade him for maybe 2 other closers in the league. I was just mentioning that Rivera had better stuff than Kerry TODAY – nothing more

who?
Not sure

I’d have to look more at the stats of other closers. Personally I would like Huston Street, but that’s because he’s younger and I’m biased. I think Wood is one of the top 5 closers in the league.

Rivera is better overall
he's also been closing games

for 15 years.

Agreed

thats a big point.

I was just saying he would be right to assume that.

And wood's been closing

for… lets see: march, april, may, june, 5 days of july…

thats… a shade over 4 months.

Unreasonable standards, much?

....

Im not wrong about who the better closer is….dont take the loss out on me cause im not straight out lieing…

For a team that has

Eric Gag me…...

You really have little room to talk about a blown save.

Who's pitching for the Cardinals tomorrow?
Wellemeyer. We should pund him.
Cool. Thanks.

Let’s Get em tomorrow!

Woody's got to get his head right to pitch EVERY TIME

if he hits or walks the first guy, he usually pisses the game away. This was a horrible, horrible loss. Doing it against an AL team is one thing, but doing it against the Cards is completely unacceptable. He should feel like shit tonight, deservedly so.

"wonders what VolPowers does for a job and if he/she perfect everytime"

I personally am not perfect. So I understand people have bad days

Guess how much they DONT pay me for what I do?????
Give it a rest...

I’m sure he feels bad about it. It’s ONE FUCKING GAME!

I, for one, turned the TV right off

I’ll catch Lou’s post game tomorrow.

Wood had saved 12 straight games before today

its not an “omg everytime he comes in he sucks”.

excellent perspective
Funny how people have such a short memory.....
no one goes 162-0
You're only as good

as your last appearance. AKA What have you done for me lately.

word

he’s been pitching great lately. And he almost got out of that disaster. He’ll be back tomorrow.

well said.....

..I do get concerned that he seems to come a little un glued when he walks / HBP a guy

This isnt all on Wood….Molina went around and why was Lee playing in? That was the ball game

Lee was playing in

because they were expecting a bunt.

5 blown saves this season..that's not good
I'll take 12 saves out of 13 save opportunities

like Wood’s given us over the last weeks.

Agreed. And if it wasn't for the Molina check swing call on 2-2

the inning would have never got out of control. Kerry was tough today. Just a bad day. It happens. Next.

Still, you can't come out of the bully and put the first two on if you're a shut-down closer
I'd much rather have back-to-back-to-back's beat us..at least he's throwing strikes then
I'd rather not lose

and have perfect 20/20 vision.

Shit happens.

Hard to argue with that...doesn't change the fact Woody can do better
And?
It's a cause for concern...this team has an opportunity to win a championship

And you have to have a guy you can rely on in the 9th to win one.

And you learn to rely on a guy in the 9th

by him going out there and doing it… and then bouncing back after the occassional bad outing.

At least thats how I see it. I don’t know for sure if thats the best way, b/c the team I’ve loved for as long as I can remember hasn’t won one. But its what we’ve got. And as a cub fan i have to hope that its right.

 Reliance comes from experience together. This is part of that.

Agree about the bounce back, but the bounce back should be a rarity

5 times before the All-Star break is what I hope stops real, real soon.

Agreed

It sucks to blow 5 S.O. it sucks to blow any.

But. We’ve gotta keep our heads up and hope he’s got it next time he trots out. Thats how he’s going to stop it and how he’s going to become what (i hope) he could be. A great one.

Mariano Rivera

Had the bases loaded with no outs today, a run already in, and the Yankees staring at three straight loses to the Sox. So, shut-down closers do put the first two on sometimes.

But most shut down closers occassionally get out of that situation - like Rivera

Kerry Wood has yet to do so

And again

Rivera has been closing games for over a decade. Woody is learning on the job.

‘Member the game against the Dodgers when they loaded the bases before Woody got out of it w/ that K?

He can do it, he just didn’t get it done today. Sure it sucks, but to say that he can’t do it is ridiculous. And this comparison to Rivera is premature at best and idiotic at worst.

Name one closer in the history of the universe that NEVER blew a game against a good team. It happens. Ice your wounds and get over it.

I Agree Mostly

except that Wood was closing last year…even in his minor league rehab stints. Now, you may well be right in that “these things happen” but the Nervous Nellie in me wonders if there is anything Woody can yet improve on so he can be our vintage-era Rivera or Sutter.

He didn't walk or hit the first batter in that Dodgers game

I still think he’s a good closer – or at least a decent closer. He now trails only Isringhausen in blown saves this year – and I believe all but one came in games where he hit or walked the first batter.

Who are you?

If your for the Cards, well we dont need to talk about Isrighhausen

And if your for the Brewers…. well must we bring up the Gagne effect?

I seem to recall a game what was it THURSDAY?

When the Brewers blew a 5 run lead.

Who am I? I'm a Cubs fan you jackass, and I'm pissed that we lost a big game today

Stop showing your ass

Look at it this way;

anybody who’s trolling on this site just to rip an opposing team is beyond pathetic-just ignore them-they want a reaction because it creates the temporary illusion that they have lives.

I'm a Cubs fan you morons....give it up on your troll theories
you're coming across as an a-hole

who only showed up when we lost/were about to lose.

Change your tone or expect to be called a troll. :-)

Been on this site for many, many games....win or lose

just because YOU haven’t noticed me doesn’t mean I’m a troll. Woody’s blown 5 saves this year, and almost all have been when he’s walked or hit the first batter of the inning, so my point is BEYOND valid. Yet immediately, I’m labeled as a troll. That pisses me off. So if I’m coming off as an a-hole to you, you know what, I’ll get over it. As for you telling people to change your tone, if you feel self-important enough to do that, fire away.

I was trying to tell you

that you were coming across the screen in a certain way.

I don’t know you from Adam and make no excuses about that. I’m sorry if I offended you, but that is how I (and others judging from the comments above) read your comments.

:deep breath: Thats all.

Sports is a passionate thing, and losing one like that stings

And Kerry has got phenomenal stuff, he just needs to throw strikes to win. So I’m extra bothered when he doesn’t. I’m also troubled about the obvious trend that has appeared in the games he’s blown.

I also apologize if I’ve offended you, but my point was valid, regardless if people didn’t like the way I said it. Kerry’s going to feel lousy about today, and he should. I didn’t personally attack him. I pointed out that he’s showing a trend during his failed opportunities. It was not the ump’s fault he was missing the strike zone, it was his. Kerry’s a great player, and my hope is that he takes his game to the next level. He’s got to.

Point taken on the deep breath.

I'm just pissed that Ankiel beat us...

...and we didn’t score when we had major opportunities to do so…

But, game’s over.Lots of positives today. We’ll get em tomorrow.

See ya all later.

bye

thanks for the PxP. :-)

Just Back From the Game

Well, that sucked.

Yes it did.

But tomorrow’s another day.

Wood

Woody is our closer, Gang, for better or for worse. For the vast majority of the time this season he has been great. Remember, this is his first season as a closer. I think he is catching on pretty well for OJT.

I will say this, he has to learn to calm down and get that final out with his good stuff. He will learn. If he doesn’t, we’re screwed.

Oh well.

Kerry just didn’t have it today. We will give them tomorrow.

Well, that wasn't how I wanted my Saturday night to start

:sigh: Anyway. Go cubs. Lets pay ‘em back tomorrow.

Boy....

Wood has been a decent closer for, 80+ games now. Sometimes THEY FAIL.
It’s too bad, but there ain’t a damn thing we can do about it. I did not see the bad call, but I was able to listen—poor Ronnie. (I think I heard a “JESUS!” out of him during that inning.)

In this market, Trevor Hoffman has been closing for almost 15 years - got the Padres to a damn WS - and now, that he’s on the down side, he’s booed. He’s headed to the HOF, but he’s getting booed.

Some people here just need to chill. This team is getting healthy, A-Ram may be showing signs of coming out of his slump. Lee’s hot. Soriano’s return will really help.
I think his value is now more than evident.

I’ll take 2 out of 3.

Woody had nothing on his fastball today

He topped out at 95 and I think he only hit that once.

He has average stuff today and they made him pay

On The Fence

I find myself agreeing with both sides. Championship teams go for the kill and don’t let games like today get away, and even the good ones piss away games to worthy opponents.

Still glad we took the first game so we’re assured of the top spot upon returning home.

think i just..

threw up in my mouth a little…... those walks man… they ALWAYS ALWAYS score…. too big of a series to be giving games away…. especially to the memphis redbirds.
