Cardinal fan brother mouth me about the Cubs that made the All Star team. He said Wood, Fukudome, and Soriano shouldn’t have made it. Hopefully he is just sore that they are losing this series and doesn’t really mean it.
1. The Cubs have the best record in the NL. 2. They’ve played more road games than home games. 3. One of their projected starters had a nuclear meltdown. 4. Their LF has been on the DL twice. 5. Their top set-up man was terrible the first 6 week.
according to this article, he is still playing in firm team but will be called up tomorrow and make debut against Bobby Valentine’s Chiba Lotte Marines on Tuesday here.

If this lead holds up (and it BETTER)
Cards fall into 3rd place, by percentage points.
ChipSet - July 6, 2008
If it doesnt, I AM going to help Glaus kick his dogs
VolPowers - July 6, 2008
I dont like that. It was nicer having them in second instead of Milw
louslovechild - July 6, 2008
Put in perspective:
4.5 games = biggest lead for Cubs, latest on June 27
And it will be 3.5 games after we win today.
Dan
dtpollitt - July 6, 2008
Coming off a road trip
With Rami slumping/gone.
Z hurt until the last 3 games.
Sori out.
Keep things in perspective. We just went thorugh an injury ridden fest and lost a game.
slcathena - July 6, 2008
Brewers have a good team
I’ve been more worried of them taking the division rather than the Cardinals. Ben Sheets is a monstah
NittanyCub - July 6, 2008
Finish these guys off today, so I can delete yesterday from my memory
VolPowers - July 6, 2008
+1
nervousCUBlover - July 6, 2008
It was deleted
for me an hour after the game.

I swear that it looks like Lou is sitting on a hospital portable toilet.
I see them everyday at work. That is what it is. Anyone who can rewind, please look.
louslovechild - July 6, 2008
lol
maybe a stadium seat?
Unrestricted View - July 6, 2008
No. It is a portable toilet. One of those that looks like a chair but,....you know

3.5 Lead Good...
yeah, i read that in the ‘03 and ‘07 division champ years we NEVER led by as much as 3 games at any point in those entire seasons…
nervousCUBlover - July 6, 2008
I just had to listen to my
Cardinal fan brother mouth me about the Cubs that made the All Star team. He said Wood, Fukudome, and Soriano shouldn’t have made it. Hopefully he is just sore that they are losing this series and doesn’t really mean it.
love the ivy - July 6, 2008
He's more sore now!
and that’s the way we like him :)

Bump Bailey - July 6, 2008
Nice Grab D-Ro!!
nervousCUBlover - July 6, 2008
Let me see if I have this straight...
1. The Cubs have the best record in the NL.
2. They’ve played more road games than home games.
3. One of their projected starters had a nuclear meltdown.
4. Their LF has been on the DL twice.
5. Their top set-up man was terrible the first 6 week.
And they might not be for real????
DeRoMyHero - July 6, 2008
This just has to be infuriating the "greatest fans in baseball"

I know you’ve missed Dome back in Japan, but thanks for sharing him - and your insights - with us.
DeRoMyHero - July 6, 2008
Well
Dragons is really stink right now without Dome, 10.5GB back from 1st place Tigers… too many injuries…
dragonsfanatic - July 6, 2008
Hey Dragon...
... Any idea how is Jason Botts doing? He went over there a few weeks back.
Ross - July 6, 2008
Will be called up tomorrow
according to this article, he is still playing in firm team but will be called up tomorrow and make debut against Bobby Valentine’s Chiba Lotte Marines on Tuesday here.
dragonsfanatic - July 6, 2008
Thank you...
I hope he does well there. He strikes me as a Randy Bass-type.

Finally something really great on the road
Lets hope it stays that way!

We should of swept the series
but games like Saturday—happen. I really believe that we are the better team. Good to see Marshall and Marmol perform well today.

Great Win
Mark of a good team: Coming back to win a game following a really tough loss..
