Once again, leave it to Mike to sum up today's 9-2 Cubs win over the Nationals with a pithy phrase, the one you see as the title of this post.
That's exactly the right statement, and the Cubs made one after their worst loss of the year -- came right back and blew out the Nats, in front of a handful of their fans (Jim McArdle found some more of them, including an entire party of them on the rooftop at Murphy's -- the one where you can't see the game, which was probably just as well for them). I spotted at least two of them in the stands, one on the concourse wearing a gray road WASHINGTON jersey, another in the LF corner seats wearing one of their red alternate shirts with the interlocking "DC" logo (one of the better logos in sports and the one they ought to use on their caps instead of that 1960's era script "W").
Digression again. Important things: Aramis Ramirez smacked two three-run homers; the six-RBI day brought his count to 90, the first Cub to reach that plateau this year and bringing him to sixth in the NL, pending tonight's action. The Cubs now have three players (D-Lee, 74, DeRo, 76, and A-Ram) with 74 or more RBI, all of whom have a shot at 90 and maybe even 100 if they have good Septembers.
It didn't start out very well -- the Cubs left two on in the first, with nearly another DP-Lee, though he beat a relay to make it only a fielder's choice; left the bases loaded in the second and again in the third without scoring. Eight men left in the first three innings -- not good. But in the fourth they broke it open with a walk to Alfonso Soriano -- this isn't saying much, but he's now got 28 walks, almost equaling his total of 31 from all of last year -- two singles, and A-Ram's first homer, making it 4-0. Meanwhile, Ryan Dempster was mowing down the Nats easily; only one Nat reached third base in the first six innings and that was only because Kosuke Fukudome overthrew second base on another Willie Harris extra-base hit, a double into the corner, and what has gotten into Harris the last two days? Or this year? He's a journeyman who's suddenly hitting for power -- 12 of his 19 career HR have been hit this year. He's still not a very good outfielder, as shown by letting Ryan Theriot's bloopy little ball drop in for a single in the fourth inning, helping trigger the Cubs' four-run rally that frame.
Dempster ran out of gas in the 7th on a very sticky, humid day, giving up three hits and a run after two were out, and for some reason Lou let him bat in the last of the 7th and come out for the 8th; I'd have taken him out in that weather, considering the pitch count ran up to 111 (74 strikes), more than necessary. When Dempster hit Lastings Milledge, Carlos Marmol had to be summoned to rescue Dempster, which he did with his usual ease, posting his sixteenth scoreless appearance in his 17 outings since the All-Star break (17.2 IP, 3 hits, 1 ER, 9 BB, 22 K, 0.51 ERA in those 17 appearances). Sean Marshall gave Washington a consolation run in the ninth inning, when Aaron Boone doubled to almost the exact spot he did yesterday with a runner on first.
Today was Dave's (mumblemumble) birthday, which was properly commemorated by a scoreboard announcement, some gooey brownies from Weber's Bakery on the Southwest Side brought by his son Brian, and a visit to the bleachers by Dave's first granddaughter, Catelyn, just past her first birthday, who entertained all of us by keeping her hand immersed in a cup of water for an inning or so. We had fun today -- even though a sudden five-minute tropical island type downpour had us scurrying for the umbrellas, just about the time Ramirez' second three-run jack put the game on ice, and more ice would have been really nice today, given the weather, and I wonder how much longer I can run this sentence on.
That was about it, I guess.
The Cubs had fun too. Rich Harden takes the mound tomorrow to try for the series win, and that'd work for all of us. In the meantime, go Pirates and Braves.

Great win...
Awesome to see Rambo break out. He has a shot at 30 HR and 100 RBI, hopefully quashing all the talk that he’s rapidly declining."
It’s all about winning series, and hopefully the Cubs can keep that up tomorrow afternoon.
Curtain Jerker - August 23, 2008
"all the talk about Rami declining..."
I think that is confined to the idiots who work the booth for the Reds.
LAcarl519 - August 23, 2008
Agreed
In fact, while Ramirez’s surface stats are a bit underwhelming relative to those of his last two seasons, his peripherals show that he might be better than ever. His walk rate is way, way higher than his career rate and although his strikeouts are also up, his BB/K is still thirty points above his career rate. He is hitting his highest amount of line drives in three years and he has also taken a large number of ground balls and turned them into flies, something which I would like to see our other corner infielder do. His HR/FB rate is down and unless he has suddenly lost his power, which at this point in his career is unlikely, today might have been a signal of what is yet to come for Ramirez down the stretch. With his newfound plate patience and fly ball ways, I would rather see him in the three hole, but it’s not like he’s being wasted one spot further at four.
dakoose - August 23, 2008
gawd.
both of his home-runs were huge, although not as huge as DeRosa’s yesterday. MORE of this? I may faint.

Now let's watch the Brewers
start to fold under pressure. Maybe tonight’s the night it starts.
santo4hof - August 23, 2008
I don't think the Brewers...
…will fold. With Sheets and Sabathia healthy, that lineup will score enouph runs for them to win their share of games.
MPH73 - August 23, 2008
I agree.
That’s a good team. They have to be the favorites to win the WC.
Al Yellon - August 23, 2008
Even if the Brewers only win 55% the rest of the way...
I think the RedBirds fade.
The teams in the East beat each other up.
And the Dodgers have yet to prove they can win in their own division (only .500).
So by process of elimination, even if the Brewers cool off a bit, I think they make the playoffs. And i hope they do cool off as I would like some breathing room in mid-September.
But let’s take care of our own business and keep winning at a 60% clip or better (by keep winning series). That will keep pressure on the Suds.

Ryan Dempster -
you’re table is ready.
He is really impressing me. He hasn’t allowed a HR since July 2nd! He should really be a leading candidate for the Cy Young along with Brandon Webb. He has really been the ace of the staff, and has been consistent all year long.
You want a MVP candidate? What about Aramis Ramirez? If he finishes with 30+ HR and 110 RBI, you would have consider him also. He will have a OBP near .400, also.
Also, it looks like Marmol is back to early season form.
Unique - August 23, 2008
i would say Demp... is Cubs MVP
nervousCUBlover - August 23, 2008
Both He...
…and DeRosa have been top notch performers, and have really allowed the club to take it up another level from the 85 wins last year. I give Dempster big time kudos, and have no problem saying I was completely wrong when I thought he would struggle as a starter.
That game yesterday was a good thing. Getting an ass whoopin once in a while keeps you a little humble, and is much better than losing a close one in the last inning.
From this point, you hope everyone can stay healthy and they can finish strong.

First Time Poster From Denver
Been a faithful BCB’er for two years now, so I figure it’s about time to get in on the action. Born in Chicago, been in Denver for 25 years.
No TV coverage today due to the Saturday Fox blackout rules, so the family left when it was 5-0 to go shopping. I parked next to a red jeep with a Cardinals tire cover, which I thought was funny. The guy in the sports store had a Pujols jersey on and I had my Cubs gear on. He quickly came over to tell me what a great year the Cubs were having and I told him the Cardinals are hanging in there for a Wild Card spot.
Anyway, nice rebound victory today. Great to see Aram making some things happen offensively. Go Cubs Go!

me too
and i always try to be mr. optimistic……i’m quickly walking up the steps to find the highest ledge i can find :(
cubswynn - August 23, 2008
I think we're just seeing who the guy really is.
He’s one of the best right fielders in baseball (+15.5 runs) with a penchant for overthrowing the ball, but overall really is excellent defensively. The problem is, he really just isn’t that good of a hitter. He has a bit more power than Ryan Theriot, and strikes out like crazy now that pitchers are pounding him in with the fastball. Seems like the best offensive ability he has is his OBP skills.
sackings108 - August 23, 2008
I think Fukudome...
…is somewhere between what you saw the first 2 months and what you have seen the last 2 months. He isn’t as bad a hitter as he has shown since the all star break, but he isn’t a .310-.320 hitter either.
When all is said and done (time for mental break and adjustments) I think he is a .280-.290 hitter, who will have an OBP of around .360-.370 and will hit you 10-12 homers.
MPH73 - August 23, 2008
I'd like to see that happen.
For that to happen this year he’ll have to have a real good September. It’s still possible.
Al Yellon - August 23, 2008
He may not get there...
…this year, but I still say he finishes strong and will have fewer long term cold spells after he has this year under his belt.
MPH73 - August 23, 2008
Yeah, I'd be absolutely pleased with those numbers.
I hope he’s able to ramp it up in September and make it there. I “watched” him strike out with the bases loaded on my cell phone this afternoon and was quite melancholy for a good while afterward.
daver - August 23, 2008
I agree.
Now that he understands what to expect out of the US game, he has to adjust. I think he will come back as a better player next year. Fukudome will adjust. But I think the remainder of this year will be more fits than starts. Lou will keep the pressure off him the remainder of this year. Lou did say after today’s game that, “he was going to have a talk with him (KF) about his hitting tomorrow AM.” Lou is clearly losing his patience.
I think there is even a chance he won’t be on the October roster if his #s don’t improve. Do you want Pie’s defense and speed if he is a decent call up in September? If both Hoff and Pie have good showings in September (assuming they get enough playing time), it could be an interesting problem…
LAcarl519 - August 23, 2008
No chance hs gets left off the October roster.
Fukudome is not the player he was earlier in the year, and many analysts, particularly those on BP-type sites, had a feeling his success wouldn’t last, but he is still valuable. Also, his defensive numbers look even better when you consider that many say that Wrigey’s right field might be the toughest corner outfield spot to roam in all of baseball. He’s a nice doubles hitter with a little extra pop once in a while who will hit for mediocre average and take walks. If Pie doesn’t pan out and Edmonds doesn’t come back next year, his bat would become more valuable if he moves to center field, which he looks capable of playing pretty well.
dakoose - August 23, 2008
there is NO WAY
Dome gets left off the roster. He still draws LOTS of walks, and his defense is ultimate Transformers edition.
I really don’t understand this fascination with the Hoff, especially as a position player.
drewishdrewid - August 23, 2008
Agree with
everything you said.
sue369 - August 23, 2008
What's not to understand?
everybody loves the “kid from nowhere” story, except Micah’s not necessarily a kid. But his age taps into another american favorite, the “career minor leaguer finally makes it to the show” story. Plenty of movies about that. Add in the fact, that he’s absolutely raking the ball in the minors… it’s very appealing to the non-discerning fan.
But 25 man rosters being what they are, there’s usually one spot for the LH pinch-hitter specialist role, especially in the NL. And that spot is currently filled by Ward. So as long as Ward’s numbers are less than stellar, Dome struggles at the plate, people don’t think about defense, and Micah continues to pound the ball, people are going to be fascinated with the Hoff.
I admit I am. But not at the expense of Dome’s defense. Or Ward’s experience. Or pretty much anyone else on the current ML roster. There’s just no room for Hoff now. But he’s a nice Plan B to have in your back pocket. He’s been up before and acquitted himself rather well, if I remember right. So, come September, he should be up and may be able to help us win a few crucial games. And with September’s road game predominance, any and all help will be much appreciated.
ballhawk - August 23, 2008
LSA.
As a thank you for writing this post, I’m going to access the time-space continuum and see to it that DeRo’s home run today drops directly into your glove on Waveland Ave. And when you speak of me, speak well.
daver - August 23, 2008
Hoff could see October
if Lou leaves Marquis off the playoff roster, which is a real possibility with both Gaudin and Marshall already in the pen as capable long-men. Hoff has been raking and he could defeat all odds to become the next Carlos Pena-like late bloomer, but I expect him to end up being more of a Fontenot/Theriot than a Pena, and by that I mean a serviceable part timer/fringe starter in the bigs, not a speedy slap hitter with some pop type. Also, since the beginning of last season, he has shown very little plate patience and with more AB’s he could be exposed. For his sake, and the Cubs’, I hope he is legit, but more often than not players with his profile don’t go on to have huge careers in the bigs.
dakoose - August 23, 2008
Dome's success early this season
was based around not swinging at garbage, looking for a good pitch and then hitting it. Now he’s over thinking and pressing. He just needs to relax…
DKT - August 23, 2008
everybody got mad at me in last thread for jumping on Dome, BUT...
why not bench him and try the Hoffpauir out there OR put DeRo out there and Fonty at 2B, OR, have some more Reed AND Edmonds together games??? I like Dome, but he is hurting the team, and I am willing to hurt his development or hurt his feelings to WIN THE WORLD SERIES! I am afraid we are just playing him cause we’re paying him!
nervousCUBlover - August 23, 2008
no benching him wasnt your exact words.....
had those been your words you wont have been jumped on I believe they were DFA Fuku and bring up Hoff.
Madison Cub Fan - August 23, 2008
i just like saying DFA!!!!
note – if we bring Hoffpauir up after 9/1, is he still playoff eligible if we choose?
nervousCUBlover - August 23, 2008
If Fukudome gets injured, they could use Hoffpauir to replace him on the roster.
The fact is, Fukudome is a joke. He’s a late inning defensive replacement, at 12 mil a year. Felix Pie could do that for the minimum, and he has real upside.
sackings108 - August 23, 2008
You just like saying it?
Do you understand what DFA means?
daver - August 23, 2008

would it make sense to leave Marquis off the playoff roster since we only need 4 starters
nervousCUBlover - August 23, 2008

DFA Fuku two different things
I would have agreed w/ the benching Dome comment. He’s struggling right now
I was shocked when I went to game @ Miller Park the amount of Japanese media there. I cant imagine living under that microscope.
Madison Cub Fan - August 23, 2008
I agree and I think
that we’ll see a very different Dome next year. I think the pressure and amount of change he’s experienced this year is astronomical. He’s a human being. Cut him some slack his first year in the States. If his offense continues to suffer next year then, yes, he’ll deserve critical scrutiny. This year? Not so much.

I’ve never sat in the upper deck before, and other than the fact that you can’t hear ANY of the announcements, I thought that it was pretty good. Nice view, in the shade, under-cover from the rain, and just the right height to see Rami’s first home-run as it kept rising into the stands, and DeRosa’s THIRD HR in THREE GAMES.
My section sang happy birthday to me as well (it’s next week, but this was my game celebration).

Scott Eyre update
Just completed his 5th appearence for the Phillies. He has pitched 4 innings given
up two hits no runs has one walk and five strike outs. I am not questioning that he was pretty bad this year but perhaps having a manager who uses him and might actually trust him might help him. Except for the upcoming series next week , I hope he keeps this up.
Doggie Stalker - August 23, 2008
I had a feeling he'd do well...
…if the Cubs moved him. Man, when you look at how Howry has continued to struggle, you really gotta wonder…
daver - August 23, 2008
I read somewhere
that one scout said the only thing wrong with Scott Eyre was that got trapped in Lou Piniella’s doghouse.
Good for him, though. He wasn’t going to get another chance with us, most likely.
Josh Timmers - August 23, 2008
Good for scotty......
but the Cubs really have no room for him. Also, four innings of very low leverage pitching(he has pitched all of his innings either behind or ahead by plenty) is hardly impressive. He was of no use to the Cubs and at least they got a prospect for him.
dakoose - August 23, 2008
But we have room for Howry ?
Like I said I think Eyre pitched bad this year but he has been in Lou’s dog house since last year.
I strongly suspect it is because he was one of Dusty’s boys but in any case Lou gave Howry all the chances in the world and treated Eyre like dirt and they both pretty much stunk.
You are correct that Eyre has pitched in his last thre appearences with big leads or deficits but
in his first appearence for the Phillies he came in with two and two out with the Phils down by one.
He got the out ( McClouth) and ended up with the win when the Phillies scored in the next inning,
in his next appearence he pitched a scoreless 8th with the Phils down by 2.
It is best for everyone that Eyre left since Lou did not “trust” him and thus would never use him,
I am just glad he found a happy home.
Doggie Stalker - August 23, 2008
Howry also stinks.
True, Howry has stunk as well, but the “upside” of Eyre isn’t near that of Howry. What I mean is that if Eyre were to return to form he would be used as a situational lefty, but Lou seems to already have given that job to Marshall, Cotts or just one of his three nasty righties. Howry on the other hand, could be a setup man when going well and would provide insurance for another Marmol slump, Wood injury or Samardzja rookie struggle, all of which are possible. Not that I entirely believe everything I wrote, it’s just that thats what I believe the rationale was behind trading Eyre but holding onto Howry.
dakoose - August 23, 2008
As long as Scott pitches
against the Cubs when Philadelphia is behind, best of luck to him.
Bill Potter - August 23, 2008

you can understand the comfort with that spot. It has been the WC team much more often than the team with the best record in the NL. I have read this a few times.
I am just saying…
We have lots of things to overcome when we are the Cubs. AND WE WILL!!!
LAcarl519 - August 23, 2008
So you're one of those "agitators."
daver - August 23, 2008
Dome
I sat close today and got a ton of photos. I’ll try to get a few up later, but noticed something kind of interesting – Dome was using Soto’s bat at least once today.
08Cubs - August 23, 2008
on the radio driving home
people talked about two things that the SportsCenter guys agreed with:
1) He’s being too selective
2) He’s totally unable to hit the high-inside pitch
drewishdrewid - August 23, 2008
Breaking Pitches
He doesn’t seem to be reading breaking pitches at all and takes terrible swings at pitches that end at his toes.
dakoose - August 23, 2008
does anyone else feel this way??
i almost wish the cards would win and get the WC so we dont have to deal with the suds anymore
preachermancubsfan - August 23, 2008
Be careful of what you wish for
in 03 I thought the Fish would be an easy path to the WS
Employee22 - August 23, 2008
This is assuming that any of the NL Central teams
actually make it past the NLDS.
daeviant - August 23, 2008
Yea
the east and west are tough………meh
Employee22 - August 23, 2008
im only saying...
i would rather face stl’s starting otation than sheets and cc
preachermancubsfan - August 23, 2008
No one is easy
in the playoffs. Everyone is tough.
Grockcubs - August 23, 2008
They finally finished that Braves-Cardinals game while I had dinner...
8-4 Bravos was your final.
The Deputy Mayor of Rush Street - August 23, 2008
and
he squeezes off another one.
drewishdrewid - August 23, 2008
Of all my Cardinal fan friends...
…they all feel the Cardinals play this season has exceeded their expectations. Itr’s as if they didn’t expect them to be this close this late in the season anyway. They are still in the Wild Card hunt, but even that might not happen if the Brewers stay hot.
DKT - August 23, 2008
No question TLR is getting as much (and more)
out of that Cardinals team. You know their club will always play hard, and play good fundamental baseball. It just so happens that at the moment, they’re the closest team to us for a playoff spot..
“It’s not personal Sonny, it’s business.”
The Deputy Mayor of Rush Street - August 23, 2008
Good to hear the lopsided score...
….first game I’ve missed either on TV or radio this year.
But when your daughter sings the national anthem at her high school’s football game that, by the way, was held at the new Lucas Oil Stadium In Indy, well, life’s about priorities. :)
A very proud papa tonight.
carmen_fanzone - August 23, 2008
Wow!!!
Congratulations to you and your daughter. Memorable experience for all of you.
sue369 - August 23, 2008
thanks sue. :)
carmen_fanzone - August 23, 2008
OT: Which high school does your daughter attend?
I was there last night for the Fishers High School game. What a great experience for all of the kids involved.
grace1723 - August 23, 2008
She goes to Lafayette Jefferson.
She’s in the Marching Band, but also in choir, so she sang the NA then performed with the band at halftime. Pretty special day. And that stadium is just beautiful.
carmen_fanzone - August 23, 2008
I agree about the stadium - it is amazing.
Congrats to your daughter on a memorable day!
grace1723 - August 23, 2008
That's awesome
Congratulations.
Bill Potter - August 23, 2008
A memorable day
congratulations to you and your daughter! A special moment for you both.
Emelie - August 24, 2008
Hi Gang!
Checking in from Colby, KS — on my way to Missouri for a family confab.
Thanks for taking care of my boy DeRo so well while I missed the game!
I’m listening to the game right now because my motel’s “high speed internet” isn’t high speed enough to run MLB.TV. Still good, though, to hear Pat and Ron.
I can drive all day tomorrow probably not being able to watch the game, but secure in the knowledge that Harden will be on the mound for the Cubs.
DeRoMyHero - August 23, 2008
DeRo was awesome
again today. The guy is hot right now.
sue369 - August 23, 2008
Is he ever not hot?
halfblindcubbiegirl - August 23, 2008
This guy?
Bump Bailey - August 23, 2008
What the...
Are you stalking DeRo at his dry cleaners, Bump?
daver - August 23, 2008
actually, he got that photo from Sue
Sue took the picture while wearing a big hat and a huge trenchcoat, and she was standing on HBCG’s shoulders at the time…
drewishdrewid - August 23, 2008
LOL
With Emelie standing next to them holding her cat…
Bump Bailey - August 23, 2008
MR. DEROSA! DO YOU WANT TO PET MY
kitty?
drewishdrewid - August 23, 2008
Haha...
No, I think this in the player’s parking lot…Just surfing and looking for new Cub’s pics and ran across this one.
Bump Bailey - August 23, 2008
Bump if you are going to stalk players
can i request a Geo?
Madison Cub Fan - August 23, 2008
FWIW...
… one of the independent T-shirt vendors today had a shirt with a baseball diamond, a heart at 2B and the words, “I Want To Get To Second Base With Mark DeRosa”.
No, I am not making this up.
Al Yellon - August 23, 2008
nice
north, west, or south side?
drewishdrewid - August 23, 2008
I saw that one when I was at Wrigley earlier this month!
cubs ftw - August 23, 2008
And you didn't buy it for me????
DeRoMyHero - August 23, 2008
hahahaha
omg. that is AWESOME.
halfblindcubbiegirl - August 23, 2008
I saw a shirt that said
I want to get to second base with Halfblindcubbiegirl.
Galvin was wearing it.
BrewCrew'sPrinceofDarkness - August 23, 2008
Only quality if its in Braille
that would be golden.
halfblindcubbiegirl - August 23, 2008
I think it was.
BrewCrew'sPrinceofDarkness - August 23, 2008
ok, a Braille t-shirt on a shapely young lass...
…is just asking to be read. ;-)
ballhawk - August 23, 2008
I was sitting next to a girl
who was wearing this shirt Thursday at the Reds game.
Not Bruce Froemming - August 23, 2008
Hmm... can a score, home plate, Soto etc. shirt be far behind?
I think there’d be a few mail order requests from BCB for that one…
ballhawk - August 23, 2008
LOL...He wasn't in the parking lot that day..
but if you like catchers, I do have a lovely Rob Bowen and a Koyie Hill..:)
Bump Bailey - August 23, 2008
Yes. THAT GUY!!!!!!!!!
DeRoMyHero - August 23, 2008
And that is the answer to my question
an emphatic “no”. The man is gorgeous. Plus I love the NJ accent.
halfblindcubbiegirl - August 23, 2008
Ryan Theriot disagrees
I believe he referred to DeRo as “Hideous.”
:)
BrewCrew'sPrinceofDarkness - August 23, 2008
ewww. not. hot.
Emelie - August 24, 2008
I take that back... it's too early in the morning
I actually thought that was Tom Cruise!
Emelie - August 24, 2008
I think DeRo is straight
BrewCrew'sPrinceofDarkness - August 24, 2008
Colby, Kansas?
Wow, as a lifetime Kansan let me be the first to apologize to have to spend the night anywhere west of Salina.
bikemonkey - August 23, 2008
It's only for one night,
but driving through eastern Colorado and western Kansas has never been my favorite activity. The goal (Arkansas) will make it all worthwhile.
I do appreciate your sympathy, though. And I’m paying way too much for a motel whose idea of “high speed internet” is about 100 kbps.
DeRoMyHero - August 23, 2008
home from vacation!!
did yall miss me??
Chanman25 - August 23, 2008
The Cardinals I believe are slowing disappearing from contention
They are slowly slipping, IMO. I think when September 1st rolls around it will be a two team race between the Cubs and Brewers, which I would like much better because that would most likely assure that we make the playoffs. With the Cardinals gone, it would make it MUCH easier..
Chanman25 - August 23, 2008
We need the Cards to get hot for two game against the Brewers then
they can go back to sucking.
BrewCrew'sPrinceofDarkness - August 23, 2008
x10
DKT - August 24, 2008
Sadly winning tomorrows game is needed to just break even with Washington for the year
as a DC resident that has watched the suck that is Nationals all year that seems really odd, guess thats why they play the game.
DC Cubbie - August 24, 2008
every year, things like this happen.
when the RedBirds won the WS in ’06 the Cubs had a winning record against them.
Sh^t happens. Some teams just match up better or get up for you.
In our case, I think the Cubs tend to let down against the Gnats. Let’s just hope the Cubs get their act together today and get to +30 over .500 and get to even over the Gnats. Two worthy goals!!!
LAcarl519 - August 24, 2008
You got your wish...quit complaining...
…I had to deal with a SWEEP here in Tampa..
NotSure - August 24, 2008
Rates
“…walk to Alfonso Soriano — this isn’t saying much, but he’s now got 28 walks, almost equaling his total of 31 from all of last year…”
This is saying A LOT!!! Alf has 28 walks in 336 ABs. Compared to 31 walks in 579 ABs last year. That is a HUGE difference! That is a 50% increase in walks!
californiachicagoan - August 24, 2008
