RAIN DELAY DEBATE (if there IS one...): Geo locked up the NL ROY last night...
I have a hard time believing anyone else can beat him out unless he has a horrid September- and give his PCL MVP recognition last year, he would seem to have the "consistency" side of the equation worked out pretty well.
Hard to believe earlier this season he had that run of consecutive at bats where he struck out.
Geo struck out 8 straight times over 4/25-26. However, Zambrano and the bullpen combined on a shutout on the 26th, prompting Geo to remark that he could care less about striking out 5 times in a game since the pitchers threw well and the team won.
on contact and force the issue, either way he is either out or scores, DLee is much slower and Sori get’s the secondary lead and is halfway home before the ball gets to JWilson.
And to be frank, I’m not entirely thrilled with European brews – I like to drink my beer, not eat it.
But Coors sells watered-down malt liquor and tries to act like it’s a gourmet beer that has to be kept chilled so it doesn’t lose one ounce of its precious flavor. It’s ridiculous.
Over here, Coors Light, Budweiser, etc. are all imports, and priced that way. A 4 pack of bottles would be about 5 pounds or so.
That goodness for the Base Exchange, where I can get my cheap domestic brews at cheap domestic prices. Cause I sure as hell ain’t paying $10 for 4 bottles to take home
Let's do this!!!!

Madison Cub Fan - August 27, 2008

McRipper - August 27, 2008
I do enjoy my Budweiser.
And to be frank, I’m not entirely thrilled with European brews – I like to drink my beer, not eat it.
But Coors sells watered-down malt liquor and tries to act like it’s a gourmet beer that has to be kept chilled so it doesn’t lose one ounce of its precious flavor. It’s ridiculous.
cwyers - August 27, 2008
Ah, yes...
…the blue thing on the bottle…which also begs the question, why is anyone drinking Coors Light out of bottles?
PurpleLineToWrigley - August 27, 2008
because you can use the bottle as a weapon in a bar fight
Bill Potter - August 27, 2008
There probably would be a bar fight
in a bar where multiple patrons are drinking Coors Light longnecks…
PurpleLineToWrigley - August 27, 2008
my point exactly.
Bill Potter - August 27, 2008
Yeah, what's up with that?
The bottles are worth more than the beer. Coors is designed to be drank out of 40s.

Madison Cub Fan - August 27, 2008
With his baserunning and Sori's fielding they look like a couple
of clowns. Lou needs to kick some asses!

Quade is showing base signs:
Sign #1 don’t run when the ball is right in front of you
VegasCubFan - August 27, 2008
"Whaddya mean the ball travels faster than me?"
Clutch16 - August 27, 2008
Scrappy is a disaster waiting to happen on the base paths.
willie mays hayes' gloves - August 27, 2008
Discipline on the basepaths, Ryan
Sheesh
spoiledcubbage - August 27, 2008
Theriot should've elbowed the third baseman
and yelled Obstruction
Jayo525 - August 27, 2008
Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffet on the PA in PNC
Shanghai Badger - August 27, 2008
It's times like this that make me wonder... What would Jimmy Buffet do?
sanantonecub - August 27, 2008
Pouurrrrr me something tall and strong...
spoiledcubbage - August 27, 2008
Funny you should ask that...
I’d say
Pour me somethin’ tall and strong
Make it a hurricane before I go insane
It’s only half past twelve but I don’t care
/It’s 5:00 somewhere!/
sanantonecub - August 27, 2008
If I drank, that would be my anthem, pretty much
spoiledcubbage - August 27, 2008
I don't always drink beer...
…but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.
daver - August 27, 2008
Stay thirsty my friends.
willie mays hayes' gloves - August 27, 2008
Merkle's bad baserunning
I mean Theriot hurt us.
VegasCubFan - August 27, 2008
For those listen to Len and Bob...
what kind of excuse did they make for Theriot being stupid?
santoswoodenlegs - August 27, 2008
BB called another bad decision by Theriot
Jayo525 - August 27, 2008
Not a thing...they're shitty commentators so they dont notice shitty baseball..
hoffer - August 27, 2008
woah
what?
drewishdrewid - August 27, 2008
BB commented
carmen_fanzone - August 27, 2008
Um...what?
neverAcquiesce - August 27, 2008
you heard me...I want chip and steve back
hoffer - August 27, 2008
Pass on Chip
HE CAN BE A BIT OVERLY DRAMATIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shanghai Badger - August 27, 2008

hoffer - August 27, 2008

Emelie - August 27, 2008

hoffer - August 27, 2008

drewishdrewid - August 27, 2008

Jayo525 - August 27, 2008

daver - August 27, 2008
Really...nothing against BB, he just kinda tows the party line.
Doesnt get dirty like steve, pat or Ron!
hoffer - August 27, 2008
huh?
drewishdrewid - August 27, 2008
Steve Stone gets...dirty?
daver - August 27, 2008
Waitaminute...
…Pat Hughes gets dirty?!
daver - August 27, 2008
Nope
Just a dirty old man
carolinacub - August 27, 2008
Its the color mans job to be critical but Pat still carries out those conversations w ron
hoffer - August 27, 2008
Stone was fired for being overly critical of the team!!
hoffer - August 27, 2008
BB very much called Theriot out on that
Emelie - August 27, 2008
And he's often quiet when Theriot or Fonzie make mistakes.
Like…if you can’t say something nice…
neverAcquiesce - August 27, 2008
Right
hoffer - August 27, 2008
I disagree with that
They frequently point out bad baseball. And they aren’t bad commentators.
Yes, BB has his biases, but it sounds like he did comment (got Gameday audio here).
Shanghai Badger - August 27, 2008

drewishdrewid - August 27, 2008
Yeah. My HD isn't so good on my old fashioned set
Emelie - August 27, 2008
That's good
sue369 - August 27, 2008
This jambalaya is good
It can only mean one thing:
CAJUN POWER will win this game!
sanantonecub - August 27, 2008
Must mean Fontenot
wnielsen - August 27, 2008
Two things....You're also going to need more toilet paper.
santoswoodenlegs - August 27, 2008

sanantonecub - August 27, 2008

Emelie - August 27, 2008

drewishdrewid - August 27, 2008
DAMNIT - Triple
malicedoom - August 27, 2008

Shanghai Badger - August 27, 2008
Him too
malicedoom - August 27, 2008
You cannot expect DeRosa to make that catch everytime....
I don’t blame him for diving…but I would have rather seen him take a deeper route and concede the hit.
santoswoodenlegs - August 27, 2008
Come on Jason..one more out.
sue369 - August 27, 2008
