"You see, you spend a good piece of your life gripping a baseball, and in the end it turns out that it was the other way around all the time." -- Jim Bouton
I share your disdain for the voyeur culture. The grocery stores are filled with paparrazzi rags catching the rich and pretty in their infidelities. Deadspin’s just the guys version.

My point in asking is that crap like this appeals to what most people wish they could do/be.
Meaning, if you (not specific, the general) were going to be rich beyond measure anyhow, and still talented and still playing a game for a living, and still collecting fat paychecks, you’d probably do whatever the heck you wanted.

Just WIN, Baby!
DWChaney - September 22, 2008
lets wrap up LCS home field tonight!
JB 23 - September 22, 2008
Question:
Would MLB make the Cubs play the Astros if necessary to determine HFA even if the teams in the playoffs are determined?
Goat Whisperer - September 22, 2008
Only if it's not already clinched
Clutch16 - September 22, 2008
Anybody having problems with gameday?
I can’t get it to come up.
tucsoncubsfan - September 22, 2008
try viagra
archimedes - September 22, 2008
I'll use Cialis
and suffer with ESPN gamecast instead.

Hey SWL
I could swear that DeRo was the real star of this movie.
BrewCrew'sPrinceofDarkness - September 22, 2008
Sori with the backwards K to start it off.
Goat Whisperer - September 22, 2008
why does Sori's slumpbuster have to start her name with a
K
Gibbon Jockey - September 22, 2008
Something tells me he's not going to be focusing well today
Or tomorrow. Or next week.
BrewCrew'sPrinceofDarkness - September 22, 2008
yes b/c pictures from july
should have such an affect on him now.
halfblindcubbiegirl - September 22, 2008
Seriously, why not
Wendy or something more favorable.
Gibbon Jockey - September 22, 2008
Maybe it should have started with an A
NittanyCub - September 22, 2008
(shudder)
Viagran kryptonite
spoiledcubbage - September 22, 2008
Bull Durham reference
NittanyCub - September 22, 2008
Craziest goddamn season I ever saw
Cubs can’t lose and a multi-millionaire superstar sleeps with a hag.
Gibbon Jockey - September 22, 2008
Well, it's not THAT bad, or even bad for that matter, depending on your view. Just ask this guy
NittanyCub - September 22, 2008
Or this guy
BrewCrew'sPrinceofDarkness - September 22, 2008
Fonzi Know that you never
^#$@ with a winning streak!
BrewCrew'sPrinceofDarkness - September 22, 2008
The Rose goes in the front sunshine
Gibbon Jockey - September 22, 2008
Did I miss something?
Shanghai Badger - September 22, 2008
Check out the pregame thread
NittanyCub - September 22, 2008
deadspin posted "incriminating" photos of Fonz
halfblindcubbiegirl - September 22, 2008
Just caught up to the link now
Shanghai Badger - September 22, 2008
I don't see anything "incriminating" about it
if anyone thought these guys sleep alone at night they’re crazy.
Including the wives
Gibbon Jockey - September 22, 2008
i hate the culture of deadspin
Fonzie could spent his nights doing blow and playing w/ legos and if he hits HRs and throws guys out, I couldn’t give a shit less.
halfblindcubbiegirl - September 22, 2008
+1
zevkalman - September 22, 2008
It's all the same
I share your disdain for the voyeur culture. The grocery stores are filled with paparrazzi rags catching the rich and pretty in their infidelities. Deadspin’s just the guys version.
Gibbon Jockey - September 22, 2008
Wow.
Ignoring the infidelity — What a dumbass Sori is for posing for the pics.
Shanghai Badger - September 22, 2008
he looked drunk off his ass
i’m surprised both his eyes were even looking at the camera.
halfblindcubbiegirl - September 22, 2008
I've been pretty drunk
Not drunk enough to risk millions of dollars
Shanghai Badger - September 22, 2008
I ask this question in all seriousness
If you had millions anyway, would you give up millions to do what you wanted whenever you wanted?
Seriously. The money/divorce probably doesn’t mean a darn thing.
Gibbon Jockey - September 22, 2008
Not being in that position, that's hard to answer
I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be doing that, especially not if I had kids.
Shanghai Badger - September 22, 2008
It's a hypothetical
so if you don’t want to posit an answer, that’s cool.
I know I would.
Gibbon Jockey - September 22, 2008
It wasn't booze he was buzzed on....
of course I wasn’t there so I’ve no confirmation, but I’m pretty sure I recognize that look. Just sayin’.
Not that that should change anything either way.
Remember this guy? He’s still a legend.

Gibbon Jockey - September 22, 2008
It changes nothing about him as a player
These guys aren’t saints.
He could lose big $ in a divorce. It also makes me question his intelligence.
Shanghai Badger - September 22, 2008
I like Sori but never thought he was the sharpest knife in the cabinet.
zevkalman - September 22, 2008
I completely agree
Gibbon Jockey - September 22, 2008
True
but I’m not really worried.
If those pictures are the worst things Fonzie ever does as a Cub… I’ll call it a win.
halfblindcubbiegirl - September 22, 2008
Wonder how Kaplan will weathervane on this one
He loves/hates Sori depending on the week
Shanghai Badger - September 22, 2008
they're from July
when he was out w/ his hand.
why should it matter now?
halfblindcubbiegirl - September 22, 2008
because it's "news" now
he defended Sori when things were good and told a story about him buying hats for kids with his own money (what a guy….) and ripped Sori earlier this month about lack of hustle
Shanghai Badger - September 22, 2008
i guess i just detest the idea that
anything off the field is news.
i just don’t care.
halfblindcubbiegirl - September 22, 2008
I'm not saying it is.
I wondered how someone in the media would react. Didn’t say he should or shouldn’t.
Shanghai Badger - September 22, 2008
I know
Sorry that sounded testy. Didn’t mean to.
halfblindcubbiegirl - September 22, 2008
s'alright
Shanghai Badger - September 22, 2008
Cedeno out 1-3
Goat Whisperer - September 22, 2008
Cubs go down quietly ichi-ni-san
Goat Whisperer - September 22, 2008
Gesundheit
spoiledcubbage - September 22, 2008
Let's take it to the MMs
and send them to the off-season, I’d much rather face the Bums in the first round….
Cub's Paperboy - September 22, 2008
Actually, I think I'd like it if the Cubs swept the Mets and the Brewers continued soiling the bed.
Goat Whisperer - September 22, 2008
My point exactly!
We can’t play the WC if it comes from our Division, so let’s feast on barely .500 teams like the Bums as a warm up into the post-season.
Cub's Paperboy - September 22, 2008
great gameday isn't working..
Chanman25 - September 22, 2008
ESPN gamecast is working.
tucsoncubsfan - September 22, 2008
MLB feed on WGN radio is working fine.
… and the Mets go down 1.2.3
Goat Whisperer - September 22, 2008
Vice versa... WGN feed on MLB.com is working fine.
Goat Whisperer - September 22, 2008
hate how wgn radio
always comes back AFTER the first pitch.
halfblindcubbiegirl - September 22, 2008
nothing like squeezing out hat last advertising penny
willie mays hayes' gloves - September 22, 2008
MLB.TV
the other day we watched the game on MLB.TV and they skipped the entire side of an inning, we could listen to on the radio, but the video was gone for the entire side
archimedes - September 22, 2008
The frustrating thing about it is
that it’s not even a commercial that’s finishing up. It’s some old hit song that’s playing. What’s funny is that often Pat Hughes will call two pitches in a row like the pitcher quick pitched the batter. I guess Pat thinks we’re too dumb to know what really happened. I wrote to WGN’s sports director and he said they don’t want it to happen and it occurs only a couple of times a game. Another guy with plenty of respect for their listeners.
mattvegas - September 22, 2008
Another guy who knows who pays his salary. :-)
zevkalman - September 22, 2008
DeRo with the 2-out double!
Goat Whisperer - September 22, 2008
Kinda glad we didn't give the farm up for Brian Roberts
when I see DeRosa hit this year.
zevkalman - September 22, 2008
me too
sue369 - September 22, 2008
RJ!! 1-0 Cubs
Goat Whisperer - September 22, 2008

zevkalman - September 22, 2008
Gotta love those maple bats
Weeghman Park - September 22, 2008
Its great because you can recycle them for toothpics after the game
BrewCrew'sPrinceofDarkness - September 22, 2008
They do that in Cincy
Weeghman Park - September 22, 2008
Mr. Johnson come through again
BrewCrew'sPrinceofDarkness - September 22, 2008
too easy
zevkalman - September 22, 2008
Johnson get's it done by going up the middle
BrewCrew'sPrinceofDarkness - September 22, 2008
lame
johnson jokes ceased to be funny in the 7th grade.
halfblindcubbiegirl - September 22, 2008
Johnson jokes are always funny
ChicagoRalph - September 22, 2008
As are Wood, Harden and Wang...
Goat Whisperer - September 22, 2008
Nice touch
ChicagoRalph - September 22, 2008
okay, the wang jokes from when
Chien-MIng Wang got hurt were high-larry-us.
halfblindcubbiegirl - September 22, 2008
again thats probably too easy..
mkcubs21 - September 22, 2008
and this too...
JB 23 - September 22, 2008
nicely done.
I deserve that..
mkcubs21 - September 22, 2008

Goat Whisperer - September 22, 2008
39 pitches through 2 for Niese
Goat Whisperer - September 22, 2008
Hey all!
Good to see we got the first run already!
TyCubsfan - September 22, 2008
Delgado was horrid in Chicago...
Now he gets walked to lead off the inning.
Goat Whisperer - September 22, 2008
yea..
he went from being booed at home to for a while being an MVP candidate. He has cooled off since but he was playing great ball for awhile.
mkcubs21 - September 22, 2008
What happened to the strike zone this year?
Weeghman Park - September 22, 2008
i hate leadoff walks
dammit.
halfblindcubbiegirl - September 22, 2008
He's just setting up the dp!
hahah
TyCubsfan - September 22, 2008
2-0 to Beltran
Come on JM… find the zone
Goat Whisperer - September 22, 2008
Corey Provost giving color commentary
Pat must not know what to do.
Goat Whisperer - September 22, 2008
well he's used to Ron
talking about pumpkins and sailboats.
halfblindcubbiegirl - September 22, 2008
Did you ever hear Corey do post game analysis?
Callers call with questions. He basically repeats the question and goes to the next caller. He is in way over his head.
mattvegas - September 22, 2008
As oppossed to Ron's
repeating something Pat said as if it was his own…
Shanghai Badger - September 22, 2008
That's exactly right
and I was thinking that often Ron repeats something Pat says as if it was his own.
mattvegas - September 22, 2008
Beltran K'd!
Goat Whisperer - September 22, 2008
Beltran K's

halfblindcubbiegirl - September 22, 2008

halfblindcubbiegirl - September 22, 2008
2 out. ... still at the corners
Goat Whisperer - September 22, 2008
Gameday is up and running!
Cub's Paperboy - September 22, 2008

I prefer gameday over ESPN gamecast.
tucsoncubsfan - September 22, 2008
Schneider up...
.261 this season
Goat Whisperer - September 22, 2008
The wild pitch wasn't good, but
I’ve gotta give Marquis credit for the hustle

mkcubs21 - September 22, 2008

He’s at 59 right now…
halfblindcubbiegirl - September 22, 2008

I haven’t
mkcubs21 - September 22, 2008
