Are they playing duck-duck-goose?
No

Spin the bottle.

I know

a team only rally

Kumbaya!

you should have...

placed a Police Concert in the middle. Does the same amount of damage.

which player did you sacrifice in the fire?
I think it's the Flying V
I thought maybe they were...

…trying to form a heart.

We Wrigley Field.

First

ok what does this formation look like?

I think that

the only I can pick out is Ed Halbur. Go get ’em Ed!

Prediction time

Cubs win the NLDS in 5 games. This series is going to be low scoring baseball and close games. It will come down to executing the offense (i.e., the stuff the Cubs did surprisingly well in April, May and June) and the Cubbie starters pitching deep into games to avoid anybody not named Carlos Marmol and Keryy Wood in that pen.

Heroes….Ted Lilly and Ryan Theriot

How does the series go 5

and a hero is the game 4 starting pitcher? Are you saying you think we will be down 1-2 after 3?

Did you play baseball in college? Are you a former all-conference 2nd baseman?

I didn’t think so….Pound Sand.

This would be a lot to pound

Yep...
Alternatively

He could come in the 15th inning to pinch run for Soto in the 5th game, and take Martin out at the plate for the winning run!

5 games

I will be losing my mind if this series goes 5 games.

Me too...

But I have tickets to that game, so I’ll be losing my mind at Wrigley at least.

LOL - oooh, bold predictions!

The games will be low scoring! The offense must execute! Pitching will matter!

In other news, I predict the series will come down to whichever team does the best job of staying out of 2-3 counts!

Things I learned at the rally today

The Cubs are run by “Crain Kennedy”.

The only thing Governor Blago loves more than the Cubs is hearing himself talk.

Jim Belushi is pretty annoying in all but the smallest of doses.

You shouldn’t monkey around with “Go Cubs Go” – the original is by far the best.

Derrek Lee is awesome.

But the main thing I learned today is that this time just being there is not enough. Last year it felt like simply getting to the post-season carried with it a measure of vindication. This year the crowd seemed less happy to just be in the playoffs, but more excited to go forward.

I agree with most of this

Jim had to have had a few cocktails for lunch but his rendition of Sweet Home Chicago was really cool.

The most annoying thing about the Blago speech for me was how he urged everyone to write to our local sportswriters about voting for Santo for the HOF, only the writers are not voting.

I also learned Soto has become a huge fan favorite. He seemed to get the loudest ovation whenever mentioned.

Somebody needs to explain to me Jim Belushi....

To me he is little more than a loudmouth schmuck. Getting William Peterson or Bill Murray would have been cool. Belushi? Barf.

I've always liked Jim Belishi personally..

movies like Mr Destiny—K-9 and a couple others were pretty doggone good—he can be a bit boorish I supposes—but he is true Cub fan from what I know.

You need better comedic acumen.
You're going to need a new job judging by your time spent here.
were you a comic in college?

no? then how do you know if it’s funny? Go pound comedy, you guess laugh joke wiffer!

Would I then laugh my ass off?
as far as I know

comedy is a binder, so, no, you would not laugh your ass off.

Since my comedic acumen is decidedly limited...

does a binder= wedgie?

only from the front.
With that answer--I am now proud to have limited comedic acumen

although I was once dry willied in a taxi/mini-van from the back seat by a gay guy my wife works with..it was a violation of my ear.

dry willied?

that’s terrible. Your first time you should definitely have lube.

Oh--make no mistake..

I had been previously wet willied.

I see where you're going with this

everybody has their, ah, adventuresome moments… wink, wink, say no more!

Comedy is King...

and the King of Comedy is Rupert Pupkin.

Yes, I noticed that too

Geo probably got the loudest cheers of anyone whenever his name came up.

Yeah, and when they showed the clip of Lilly...

…knocking over Molina, there was a huge cheer as well.

I bet

that might’ve been my favorite moment of the year so far.

I felt fortunate

that the one game I got to attend all year had a no-doubt highlight reel moment.

my only game this year

was against the dodgers. and nothing really special happened. but it was still fabulous.

Got the ticket stub

tacked to a board with the score and CUBS WIN! written on it. It’d be great to have a ticket from The Year, ya know?

Plus, you saw em play the Dodgers. Good sign, maybe…

Saw Dempster beat the Dodgers

and Woody throwing high heat in the 9th.

Hopefully its not the last time I see that all happen.

It's only a day away...

Hopefully.

TOMORROW, TOMORROW I'LL...

ahem…

I saw RJ and Dome make highlight reel catches...

…in the one game I attended: May 31 win over Rockies.

After a string of forgettable losses

I was fortunate enough to attend two games that made the highlight reel — Henry Blanco’s walk-off single against the Cardinals, and the Cubs comeback from down 6-2 to the Brewers on September 18.

For that Blanco game...

I was up in Minoqua ignoring the outside world when I walked into a German beer garden themed bar. I was only going to have one and get on my way when I look up and see that the Cubs were on. What great luck. Well of course I had to stay to the end. IIRC it was an extra innings game and the wide wasnt to happy with how long it took or how many beers I had. Oh well, I at least I got to sin Go Cubs Go in northern wisconsin!

She'd really be unhappy if she knew

That you referred to her as “the wide”!

Just how pained did Mayor Daley look/sound to have to be at a Cubs rally?
He did a decent job of keeping a straight face.

The crowd really let him know they knew whose side he was really on.

Yeah, he was a good sport and played along

But he obviously is much more invested in a certain game being played tonight on the south side.

You mean the White Sox?
and remember....

you can’t spell “Sex Wit Ho” without White Sox.

Since you're on the webcam

Can you post pictures of the ads MLB is putting up down the right and left field lines per the Trib?

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-080930-chicago-cubs-ads-link,0,7308043.storylink

here it is...

That's not that bad...

I can live with that… temporarily.

doubt it will be temporary

i bet there will be more next year

I bet you're correct.
MLB Network.

Another sports artery that Comcast will push to the elite tier.

Not awful

but I could really do without all the ad-age.

Haha, playoffs=ad-age.

Lots and lots of ad-age. Which is fine by me…

There's an old adage that says...

…there will always be more ad-age.

there's another one

down the left field line that is an ad for Postseason baseball on Fox and TBS but I didn’t want to bog down the thread.

ha

Al?
beard's too dark

have they announced the freakin’ lineups yet???

no

and i’m going nuts.

Is that from the rally today?
yep

off of chicagoist.com

cubs pick up Piniella's 2010 option

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/cubs/1193722,lou093008.article

:-) Yay Lou.

It's about time!!
Yay Cubbies.

very good news.

Good news.

He’ll be needed for our three-peat.

Jessica won't be happy
Rosenblum blogs w/ Rami

Pretty good interview:

.
When Sammy was here and Moises in ‘05 and ’04 and ’03, we had great lineups, but we didn’t have as good pitching as we have this year. We have great starting pitching and a great bullpen. Woody in the bullpen with Marmol and Samardzija, and getting Harden from Oakland and getting Z healthy … this is the best pitching we’ve had in a long time here.

Kevin Tapani would like a word with you.
no Howry mention?

…how appropriate.

Steve Stone talking again

http://blogs.suntimes.com/cubs/2008/09/steve_stone_questions_piniella.html

Thinks Lou should have pulled Z- Ask Stoney if he was pitching a no-no if he should have been pulled.

’’I would have pulled him in the sixth. A manager is paid for some very tough decisions and no-hitters are delightful. You can always say you have a no-hitter.

’’He is becoming Sammy [Sosa] Jr. They are creating another monster on the North Side.

‘’This is a really talented guy, but so was Sosa. But the point is, if you remain completely complicit, in guys you know in taking more and more, eventually the tail cannot wag the dog.’’

Stoney has been spending too much time on the southside, apparently he still has a knee-jerk reaction to questioning Managerial decisions.

I used to love listening to Stoney- sniff it will never be the same

Dipswitch John Kruk went OFF BIG time on that same topic the other night..

IIRC he said it would cost the Cubs the post season since they didn’t pull him after 90 pitches.

Which cracked me up

b/c he’s the anti-pitch count guy.

gimme a break

a guy like Z throws 25 pitches and he can’t ever throw again…. Zs recent ‘problems’ are more mental than physical.

If i remember his last start--he had good velocity

the firsdt inning or 2 didn’t he? If so, that renders the Kruk-ster moot (and dumb) and you correct—Z has a Yogi problem—half this game is 90% mental.

Yep

He looked good the first two innings. He just lost focus in the third and then got frustrated…

This means the Brewers, in using CC on 3 days rest 3 consecutive times to make the playoffs...

have already eliminated themselves from postseason play.

I've never seen Kruk be so stupid.
Really?

He used to be on TBDSSP on Fox and they specialized in stupid.

How much gravy did he sweat while saying it?

That guy is enough of a slob to play for the Brewers….

mmmmmmmmmmm....gravy.

Gravy: it's own food group

to paraphrase Philip Seymour Hoffman in Twister.

Steve Stone is a MORON!!

Some day Cubs fans will realize it. Lets face it guys, we all want him to be the GM for some crazy reason, but if he is or would be so good at being a GM then why has no team picked him up as a GM.

He is a loud mouth media guy and that is it.

But he does cut a striking profile.
Thank you for not posting that again....
Just seeing that poster

gives me a case of the green apple quick steps

No kidding

my eyes are already damaged, lets not kill them before the playoffs start.

NO!!

For the love of God…please, no!!!

Stone is a Sox announcer.

I’m done with him.

That would be the WHITE Sox, right?
Where is this webcam?

I mean… where can I find this webcam online?

It's part of the Cubs Club.

Click on “Fans” on the Cubs website. You have to pay $20 to join. Probably better to join just before next season as you get free MLB Audio with it.

Just drove by the ball park

On my way home from the airport (yes it was out of the way). About 30 people watching the Cub’s workout from the “knot” hole and at least 30 more with gloves on Waveland hoping for a home run ball. Pretty cool scene for a non-gameday with lots of clouds and cold temperatures.

Are you going to be at the White Sox game later tonight? You know they're playing a game at home for the Division and a playoff spot right?
the White Sox?

you don’t say!

the White Sox?

who are these pale hosiery?

OT: If one more person says

Ryan Howard is MVP b/c of his “body of work” I may scream. He had a good Sept. How the hell is that a body of work?

uh... have you seen his numbers?
This just in, Ryan Howard struck out again.
oooh, I see what you did there.
In case you havent noticed whether you agree or disagree..

MVPs get voted in for HR and Power numbers in general… I dont think that should be the only measure… but Howard has hit 48 HRs 146 RBIs .543 slg%, , I dont think he should be MVP but he does have some impressive numbers to earn him some votes

Yes

but I’m more impressed by Pujols. Especially when you think about fact that nearly HALF of the pitches thrown at Pujols weren’t strikes. And he put up the numbers he has.

And he's about to have elbow surgery.
Further, that he was able to produce those numbers needing TJ surgery.

Albert carried that team and Howard had Utley.

...and Rollins, and Burrell, and Hamels, and... need I go on?

All Pujols had was Ludwick.

Troy Glaus had a pretty solid season, too.

.856 OPS with 27 dingers and 99 RBI.

not saying where he had him, but that he had him.
And in a clutch spot

who scares you more: Pujols or Howard?

You can get Howard out, a lot. Pujols in a spot where you HAVE to go after him is scary.

I agree that Pujols should be MVP

but without Howard that Phillies wouldnt be in the playoffs this year… with Pujols the Cardinals are not in the playoffs this year… so this years MVP who is or was most valuabal to his team is Ryan Howard

Um... what?

Pujols should be MVP… but Howard is most valuable?

Im saying I would vote Pujols

But Howard does deserve to be considered the MVP, and I would understand if he won ………Mr. Huey Lewis

I can see an agrument for Howard

(even if I’m not buying it) but not when its his “body of work” say his numbers “down the stretch” or something, but his season OUTSIDE of Sept is not impressive.

Since when does the MVP have to be on a playoff team?

The litmus test is a team that is in contention. The Cards battled all year.

Fat Albert said so himself...remember?
You serious or setting me up...?
He really did say that.

But that doesn’t mean SWL isn’t setting you up.

Does he have another way?
Serious as a numb left arm.
The fact that the Cards were in the race as long as they were

probably prevented Albert from getting the surgery earlier.

If you haven't...here are some...
BA  = .251
Ks  = 199
BB  = 81
OBP = .339
FP = .988
Here's another one: 123 OPS+

For comparison, Mike Fontenot – yes, Mr. Wonder Hamster himself – had a 133 OPS+.

(Pujols: 190!)

What the...?

How did you get the graybar to appear?

It's like your old girlfriend just

reappeared.

Hey, all this yakkin' about the MVP...

…pales in comparison to the potential return of the Dread Pirate Graybar.

Oh good

I thought I was seeing things. Pirate Greybar has returned?

Appears to be SWL graybar

as he is hiding the key.

Hee hee hee!
key
And the board goes silent

as people try and figure out the combo.

easy
 pre
pre?
Look at the formatting guide.

Think laterally.

You just type...
<pre> and close the tag after your done typing what you want in the graybar.

Wow, really?
arrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

Brillant, indeed!

Let's see
 garrrrrrrrrr! the pirate has returned
yar! T'is an omen and a portent!
Or

“pre(. TEXT” without quotes, which would make

TEXT
Cool.
Yeah, that works, too. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!
So the Dread Captain Greybar did not die!

You kidnapped him, you scurvy knave! So what will it be? A chest full of bullion? A thousand barrels of grog? A gaggle of leggy lasses?

Leggy lasses! Leggy lasses!
Yar!
Wenches for the good Captain Greybar!
Yikes

Al Davis is a scary old man.

Further OT, Cedric just signed with the Bengals
I was sure the

Stealers would give him a shot

Cos an 0-4 team is that desperate.
And Cedric's

legal problems are small versus the rest of the team.

Maybe they get a group discount.
He fits right in, doesn't he?
Heh

Ah the Bengals. What a mess they are.

Have fun watching Cedric run with his shoelaces tied together (step, step, fall)

The only place that fits him almost as well as the Cook County Jail
Funny, they have some of the same guys.
Webcam

What’s the link to this webcam?

So when does Lou announce the 25 man roster?

…and who is on the bench (though not part of the 25) and who goes to Mesa?

When's the game start tomorrow?

Five minutes before that.

i wish i knew

you were being sarcastic.

dammit lou. i need to know.

(i’m so glad the sox have to play 163 tonight… no baseball would’ve driven me nutty)

I hope I was being sarcastic too.
This isnt Lovie Smith were talking about.....I bet we hear sooner than that
and who is that standing over there?

and where is my “I Hate Mondays” mug?

you guys know

that at this point tomorrow, I will be grabbing a scorecard, 2 Becks beers, and possibly some peanuts- in October, in Wrigley…. ahhhh

did i mention

it will be a post season special like score card

Becks? seriously?

I’ll be there – with Old Styles in hand.

1 dollar more

and they are 20 ozs, and I dont get a headache-
Old Styles are for after a W

Interesting points.

I just can’t bring myself to buy anything else in Wrigley.

are you in 231 r 7
nope. 204 row 4
nice seats

231 is pretty close to me

229 r 13
Couch. Row 1. Cushion 1.
Hey that's odd

my ticket says Couch. Row 1. Cushion 1 as well, are you sure your ticket is real, or did you get it off craigslist ;)

A very reputable seller in an alley.

Also sold me a funny smelling plant. I guess it’s pretty to look at, but so far all it’s done is made me giggle and eat Doritos.

Close to me

Off to the side in the recliner. Same row though. :-p

It's a good venue I hear.

No eyeline obstructions, no lines for the restroom, and the cheapest ballpark food I’ve ever seen.

Have fun with that.
Mine comes complete

with a waitress ;)

Only problem seems to be getting a vendor to come by

Having to pour your own gets old.

True.

And the last time I tried to hire a waitress it turned out she was a cop, too.

lol
Torre Live on MLB: Furcal will be in starting line up
Starting Dodgers lineup

Furcal, martin, manny, ethier, kemp, loney, blake, dewitt

(the order of the last five might be slightly mixed up but the names are correct.)

the LA line-up

for game 1 was announced as:
Furcal, SS
Martin, C
Ramirez, LF
Ethier, RF
Loney, 1B
Kemp, CF
DeWitt, 2B
Blake, 3B
Lowe, P

Btw, while the Dodgers announced their 25 man, teams don’t have to officially do it ’til tomorrow morning, which is possibly as long as Pinella might take. The Dodgers could also change theirs before then. Dodger fans are rejoicing that Mark Sweeney was left off the roster, he of the like 100 OPS or something.

There's no real suspense for the Cubs 25 man

except for Pie vs. Hoffpauir. Paul Sullivan reports that DeRosa and Cedeno are in despite their recent nagging injuries. Unless there’s some surprise like Howry volunteering not to pitch (yeah, right), the only thing up in the air is Felix or Micah.

Micah was at the rally today

I wonder if that means anything….

seems like

Hoffpauir’s looked so good it’s hard to believe he woudn’t make it but then again he hasn’t much experience.

I just scored 2 tix for Game 1!

My connection came through at the last possible second, and I could not be more excited! Another Madison to Chicago road trip! (And I’m on fire with the Cubs right now, the last two games I attended were Z’s no-no and the game the following Tuesday against CC at Wrigley)

OT : TBS sucks...

they are using “Stretch-O-Vision” for the pregame in “HD”. if they do this for the NLDS games, it will be the most pathetic thing I have ever seen.

last year

the games were in true HD, once they actually, you know, got them in HD. I can’t imagine MLB would let them screw it up like that.

Screw it up with terrible ANNOUNCING, now that’s different.

well.l..

its been going back and forth and around, right now its ok.

the only concern here is that it’s foreshadowing TBS’s potentially crappy coverage (again).

I tried to be an optimist once, but I was afraid it wouldn’t work.

Thursday's Game - and Beer Sales at Wrigley...

…does anyone know if the beer sales inside Wrigley will halt at 9:05pm as usual, or if that rule will be relaxed due to the 8:30om start?

Just curious…have not heard much about that.

My guess...

Is that they’ll keep the same policy…7th inning or 9:20, whichever comes first. But who knows!?

Announcers for tomorrow's game?

Who will we have the pleasure of listening to? Dick Stockton, Chip Caray, Bob Brenly?

Looks like...

Dick Stockton, Ron Darling and Tony Gwynn.

Where can I find our official playoff roster?
I'm all set for games 3 (and 4 if necessary)

Flying in to LA with my son and flying Dad in from Waukegan to support the Cubbies in LA. Hope to get to see them finish the NLDS off. GO CUBS!

White Sox--Marketing Blunders for $500, Alex

You never, never call for a “Blackout” from your fans. When everyone in the crowd is wearing black, it makes it look like there is no one at your ballpark.

On my standard def TV, it looks like no one is at the Cell.

Idk, that looks pretty cool

and the players still know there is people.

Although blackouts don’t always work – see UGA v Bama college football game

Sure, that way they feel at home

Because that’s what it’s like for most of the games. The White Sox games.

+1

I was gonna say the same thing.

what channel is

the sox / twins game on?

You mean the White Sox / Twins game. It is considered bad form to omit the White.
bad form

by who…. i’m fairly certain that everyone knew what i meant.

Maybe you didn't notice...

but we take our White Sox pretty serious around here.

Gotta love them White Sox
Red Sox fans omit the Red

They think they’re special. I always have to add the “White” when talking about the “Sox” because it confuses them.

Did they ever announce the Cubs NLDS roster today?

I’m not seeing it anywhere on here or anywhere else.

nope not yet AFAIK
Boy I like your sig line.

I have to ask “what is AFAIK”?

Never mind

I just figured it out. Thanks.

I thought you would like it.

as far as I know

Paul Sullivan is reporting,

Pie is on the NLDS roster, Hoffpauir is out. This is due in part because of DeRosa’s injury.

Hoffpauir, Wuertz, Hart and K. Hill have been sent to Mesa to work out in case they are needed in a later series.

I know it wasn't rational...

but I was holding out hope that Wuertz would be on it and the Howrymeister would not.

aaaaarrrrggh

enough with the frank tv ads, I think Ive counted 4 already, 1 per inning, not counting the one they just cut away from to get back for 1st pitch.

WE GET IT. ENOUGH.

+100
what Radio station

is the game on? Anyone know?

never mind, I found it.

670 AM.

ESPN Radio
these guys

are pretty bland.

The White Sox announcers?
there's two of then?

I can barely tell them apart.

Sure, Steve Stone and Ed Farmer

announce for the White Sox

Steve Stone once pitched for the White Sox
Ed Farmer also pitched for the White Sox
I'm sure it doesn't help

that I know almost nothing about the individual players, but their voices sound very alike to me.

I'm surprised you don't recognize Stone
he's just so

vanilla.

it sounds like he's calling

a football game. The Chicago White Sox football team.

Take a breath! Have some inflection!

I liked him with the Cubs

before he got bitter. Dusty and his boys treated him poorly, but he could have handled it better.

I guess

I didn’t pay enough attention then.

He was the TV color commentator

Left after 2004

Watching on TBS...

Who does Cal Ripken look more like? Uncle Fester or Steve Wilcos? Nothing against Cal of course.

this is a pretty good game
The White Sox game?
no, the Twins game

they’re playing the White Sox.. Who just scored a run, I think…

POS

Thome. hate that jackass

Really?

I always thought Thome was a pretty classy guy. Why don’t you like him?

Thome is not a jackass.
Probably meant to reply to bheidge?

Because I agree

yes - just trying to keep the thread flowing consistently
probably nothing more than

a strong dislike for the Indians, Phillies and White Sox.

He was always “that guy” to me, no matter where he was traded.

In real life, he's a good guy.

OT: he grew up a Cubs fan.

interesting to know

but I’m a big Cub and Twins fan….so most of the White Sox roster bugs me.

I'm constantly impressed

at how the Twins find a way to contend every year despite losing players.

I’ve got nothing against the White Sox myself, but it’d be kinda cool to see the Twins advance. I think it’s one and done against the Rays, though.

From Peoria I believe...

and now lives in Hinsdale…western burb of Chicago…

probably shouldnt have sent

cuddyer on that one. Although with Punto coming up next its an acceptable call

I thought when it was hit that he should at least draw a throw

But was surprised that he kept coming home. It was closer than I expected.

it was close

not sure why the announcers were saying “thats why Griffey is a gold glove player” a 1st baseman probably could have thrown him out from that distance

Yeah, it was pretty shallow
Closer than "I" expected

The I is hiding behind my avatar…

Just met Dempster and Fukudome

Future Mrs. Fukudometer and I went jogging and did a lap around Wrigley. Saw the Dodgers taking BP and the ballhawks out. Passing the Cubs parking lot we got to see Fukudome getting in his Escalade and drive off, but then Dempster walks out, signs a dozen autographs, then keeps walking down Waveland. Mrs. Fuk and I wish him good luck them walk right behind him all the way to his house, 4 blocks west. He had a Fed Ex envelope and I can only speculate it was filled with two dozen great seats for tomorrow’s game. A bunch of Cubs fans walked by and had no idea it was Demp because he was in jeans and a t-shirt with a hat. Pretty cool to see the NL All Star Playoff Game 1 starter walking in the neighborhood.

Hell that gave me chills
Has anyone checked out the Dodgers schedule for the past month of September?

started out with
3 @ home against San Diego
Day off
3 @ home against Arizona
3 @ San Diego
Day off
3 @ Colorado
4 @ Pittsburgh
3 @ home against San Francisco
Day off
3 @ home against San Diego
3 @ San Francisco

Not saying anything besides that is incredibly weak.

That's good!

Hopefully they’ll have a tough time getting up for tougher competition

What a great commercial

With ARam and Fukudome. Gave me Goosebumps.

Aram

has a weird voice

Viva Viagra

Every break they play a Viagra ad. What does that say about Sox fans?

that their White Sox

don’t stay up.

makes it tough

to watch a game with your 8 year old.

“daddy will MY erection last more than 4 hours?”

I'm not a parent

but I’ll bet that’s one of those moments where you want to laugh, but you can’t.

and these ads are there over and over

so the kids hear them, even if you try not to let them, and they wonder what “erectile dysfunction” is. Does a 7 year old girl need to know that ?

please put these ads off until after 10.

ok back to the game, its the 9th!

and what a game it is!
and its done! great catch

wow when was the last time both chicago teams made the postseason at the same time.

yes, it was

A pretty exciting 1-0 game

1906 to answer your question
102 years !!!

wow

Well, keep in mind

Divisional play is relatively recent…4 teams from each league even more so.

And, both Chicago teams pretty much sucked for most of the latter half of the 20th Century.

I'd be happy if they just stopped all drug ads

It’s your doctor’s job to prescribe drugs to you, not the drug companies’ job.

drug companies shouldn't be able to advertise like anyone else?
Yeah...but for PERSCRIPTION MEDS? It's not like a person can go out and just purchase those.

It’s not a regular consumer product like chips or cell-phone service. A licensed medical doctor HAS TO WRITE A PRESCRIPTION in order for someone to even have the ability to choose to purchase one…and they can still buy a generic most of the time. It’s stupid to run commercials for prescription medications…a waste of money, time and it also makes it more difficult on doctors when trying to diagnose patients. Patients already self-diagnose themselves using WEBMD and the internet, and now they’re convinced they need what the TV tells them as well.

The countdown begins for the

Keep a weather eye!

How often is this going to happen?

Two Chicago teams and two LA teams in the playoffs at the same time.

and no New York teams
I was kind of joking around with friends about this lineup:

Cubs, White Sox, Dodgers, Angels, Mets, Yankees, Marlins, Rays

It could happen…

We prolly won't see the two Chicago teams in the playoffs again for a while

Though I wouldn’t be shocked if that lineup happened next year. After that. chicago will mess it up.

Not sure if anyone posted this yet:

Courtesy of twitter:

cst_cubs Pie in, Hoffpauir out. Won’t be announced till Wed AM, but Cubs taking speedy Pie in final playoff roster spot. about 2 hours ago from txt
