It doesn’t make me feel much better. It devalues the NL Central more than it uplifts the Cubs choke-job last year.
I understand the hatred of the Cards but having grown up mostly in L.A., my hatred of the Dodgers is greater. I sure hope the Dodgers lose the next series like they did last year.

Point is, could have happened to ANY team.
Al Yellon - October 12, 2009
Makes me feel MUCH better.
Doggie Stalker - October 12, 2009
LOL.
You crack me up Jessica.

That series was proof there is a God and He has a sense of humor.
CubSteve - October 12, 2009
It was strange seeing something like that happening to someone else
seems like if you replace Holliday with soriano and 2009 Cardinals with 2008 Cubs it would have just added to the stories.
mjk83 - October 12, 2009
If the Cubs are in a similar 9th inning situation in the playoffs next year,
let’s hope Sam Fuld is in left for defensive purposes.
Mike Vails Evil Twin - October 12, 2009
Indeed
I think Sam knows better than to try to catch a ball with his balls.
Doggie Stalker - October 12, 2009
Ouch.
It hurts just READING that.
Al Yellon - October 12, 2009
Better than a "fractured testicle "
Nastiest sounding baseball injury. This maybe one time you boys should be grateful MLB pulled the video link.

Doggie Stalker - October 12, 2009
who was the 3rd basemen who had the bloody testicle?
mjk83 - October 13, 2009
beltre
jesus christos - October 13, 2009
THAT sounds like a BAD horror movie.
Doggie Stalker - October 13, 2009
appropriate that the story is from Ball Hype
katie casey - October 16, 2009
A person would have to be "nuts" to do that

I just nearly Peed in my pants.

Well, presuming you've now relieved yourself...
…you should read the cartoon above. It’s pretty funny.
daver - October 12, 2009
I made the mistake of reading the cartoon first
eths - October 12, 2009
Mixed feelings on this one
I understand the hatred of the Cards but having grown up mostly in L.A., my hatred of the Dodgers is greater. I sure hope the Dodgers lose the next series like they did last year.
The cartoon is very good though.
tucsoncubsfan - October 12, 2009
Always nice to start a week with a little schadenfreude
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer team, either.
Cubbiefaithful - October 12, 2009
Schadenfreude ist die schönste Freude

After that stunning, first round sweep by the Dodgers, I'm thinking the best move...
…for the Cards would be to let DeRosa go and trade for Milton Bradley. They need to get more left-handed.
malicedoom - October 12, 2009
:) :) :)
jdb-44 - October 13, 2009
Maybe they could take Aaron Miles, too.
That’s how teams get better from playoff sweeps.
Right?
Al Yellon - October 13, 2009
They could even recycle the old baseball cards
eths - October 13, 2009
Hahahahah... very true. Great pickup, that Miles... oy vey
