Pitchers and catchers report a week from Friday... and the first ST game is only 23 days away. Baseball is about to return! In the meantime, see if you can name this Cub. Once again, a $10 gift card from Distant Replays goes to the first person with the correct answer.

Al Yellon - February 2, 2009

Clutche,
What is the secret of finding this guy? Obscure!
Cub Fan Mike
Cub Fan Mike - February 2, 2009
Identified the years the jersey was worn and I knew he was an infielder
Clutche - February 2, 2009
and he guesses Vic LaRose on every "Name That Cub"
j/k
He guessed LaRose on the Billy Connors photo.
Good job, Clutche!
flachimesa - February 2, 2009
What can I say......I thought Connors was La Rose with a tan
Clutche - February 2, 2009
Who has the better tan?
LaRose

Connors
Sweet Lou
flachimesa - February 2, 2009
Who has the worst haircut?

carmen_fanzone - February 2, 2009
Here's Vic LaRose...
… playing for the Tacoma Cubs in 1966 and 1967. Goes to show you how cheap the Cubs were in those days — just took old Cubs road uniforms and slapped “TACOMA” on them.
LaRose played in 4 games at the end of the 1968 season.
Al Yellon - February 2, 2009
wow way less cute with those glasses
Emelie - February 2, 2009
he clearly looked unhappy at Tacoma.
no cable TV at that time?
that was when the Dick van Dyke show was first run, not reruns.
LAcarl519 - February 2, 2009
About as obscure as you can get....
4 games, 2 AB for his ML career, plus….
Being acquired in an “unknown transaction” is as obscure as it gets….haha
carmen_fanzone - February 2, 2009
LOL
True.
Al Yellon - February 2, 2009
"unknown transaction"
Never heard of that before. Does that mean the Cubs stole him like a College Mascott in the middle of the night?
Cubbie-Tim - February 2, 2009
It's sort of like...
…an undisclosed location, I think.
CaughtInTheVines - February 2, 2009
I was going to guess
Ryno’s dad…
Lows05 - February 2, 2009
Hello, I'm a visiting Brewers fan and figured I would ask before trying.
But would it be OK with you, the Cubs community, if I were to try and guess on these “Name That Cub” games?
Noah Jarosh - February 2, 2009
It may turn you into a Cubs fan
I find myself reading more than usual about some of the more obscure Cubs.
flachimesa - February 2, 2009
Sure, you're welcome to join in!
Glad to have you here.
