Macko was an infielder for the Chicago Cubs who played briefly in 1979 and 1980. He died November 15, 1981, of cancer. He was 27 years old. Macko was a native of Burlington, Iowa.
Bill Johnson came to the Cubs in the Dick Ruthven deal (for Willie Hernandez). He made 14 relief appearances in 1983 and 1984 and then vanished. IIRC he had some injury problems; at one point he was considered a pretty good pitching prospect.
Michael Barrett?
SonnyJ9 - February 7, 2009
No, Barrett would have been too well-known.
Al Yellon - February 7, 2009
More I looked at I didn't think so-
but he does resemble a “young” Barrett.
SonnyJ9 - February 7, 2009
Here's a young Barrett, signing an autograph.
Al Yellon - February 7, 2009
Color Photo
It’s a good photo, not faded, has to be early 80’s if I had to guess. Don’t have a clue as to who he is though

Al Yellon - February 7, 2009
It was probably that skiing he did between the '83 and '84 seasons that led to his exit from baseball... ;-)
Oddly enough, both of these Bill Johnsons were born in 1960.
