An Ode To Opening Day

Yes, it really was that cold.

Saw you huddled under your channel 7 umbrella Al. Gee, you looked REAL comfortable...

That was one of the most miserable weather days I ever sat through to watch a ballgame. If it weren’t for Teddy’s potential no-no, we’d have left after the top of the 5th when the game became official.

As it is, we left in the mid-7th and STILL didn't get back home here in Michigan until after 11pm.
It wasn't THAT bad, if you dressed properly for it.

But I saw way too many people who didn’t. That $7 hefty bag the Cubs call a poncho isn’t going to keep you dry for long.

The runoff from that channel 7 umbrella got me wetter that the rain ever did. Remind me not to sit in front of Al anymore on a rainy day ;-)

You just about had a wetsuit on.

You should have been dry even with the runoff!

We were dressed properly and had the overhang in section 204 to cover most of the rain

still, the wind and rain made the experience an ordeal and not an even remotely enjoyable time (from a “conditions” standpoint).

Why does MLB have Guzman as the winning pitcher for the game?

Am I missing something?

They are afraid to print Lilly's name

Just in case they misspell it, and he shows up to correct them in person.

Far more uncomfortable than the Winter Classic

Instead of the wind behind us it was towards us and then the rain/mist for most of the afternoon. But when the Cubs win it makes it worth the stay.

I couldn’t believe how jammed Murphy’s was for mike & MIKE. They went on the air at 05:00 and the place was jammed.

Great cartoon.

I honestly felt bad for most of the people out there. I mean, I know they bought tickets and went of their own accord but…wow.

Al, you deserve a merit badge.
