The Peoria Chiefs are playing the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers tonight at Miller Park in Milwaukee, also known as O'Brien Field North. Aaron Shafer is going tonight for the Chiefs against Wily Peralta for the Timber Rattlers.
Bob Brenly will be in attendance. He's probably there to see Josh Vitters, Ryan Flaherty, Junior Lake, Rebel Ridling, Tony Campana and the rest of the hot prospects that the Chiefs have this season.
Or maybe he's just there to see his kid.
This thread is for people going to the game who want to post things either before or after the game, as well as for fans who won't be going to the game to post scouting questions about the Chiefs that maybe someone who is going to the game can answer.
Let's hope we get some good reports tonight.

Josh, anything you'd like us to look for?

Velocity on Shafer
that’s the big thing. A good general scouting report on Shafer would be great.
Other than that, what catches you eye. I want to hear about some lesser prospects too.

FYI on Shafer
Shafer was a guy who was considered a possible top ten draft pick going in to last season, but he hurt his arm. He opted not to have surgery and through rest and rehab he’s pain-free now, but the velocity has not returned. The Cubs nabbed him in the second round last season, hoping for a return to what he once was (although what he is isn’t terrible)

The photo
is from the Brewers home opener with the Cubs and it’s some guy from Iowa City. I’m guessing that’s his going to church outfit.
(It’s a joke Don’t forget guys, I’m a proud Hawkeye alumnus)

This site is quickly...
turning into a 50/50 split between Cubs coverage and Cubs minor league coverage.
kanderber - April 24, 2009
No, it's turning into a site with COMPLETE Cubs coverage.

BTW
our friend Colin has this post up at the Hardball Times

He’d sent me the written stuff already, but here he has some video where you can see Vitters and Flaherty take their swings. (I actually couldn’t follow the play with Flaherty in the field.)
