Let's see. Carlos Marmol and Aramis Ramirez are out, but may return as soon as today. Milton Bradley is still out with no target date. Derrek Lee has a recurrence of the same neck problem that forced him to miss a few days both last year and in 2007, but he's hoping to be in tonight's lineup. So the Cubs are down possibly four players, without any DL time for any of them (not that I'm advocating that) so that they could have some reinforcements.
And maybe that's why Lou is not worried about Geovany Soto's slow start; Soto is hitting only .128 and has missed a few games with that minor shoulder problem. But Lou says he should be fine:
"I was a Rookie of the Year myself in 1969 and my second year, I hit .301," Piniella said. "What I'm trying to say is, if you have the same approach and you maintain your confidence and swing at strikes, you have an advantage, too, because you know the pitchers you're out there facing.
"You hear about the 'sophomore slump,'" he said. "I think that phrase is more up here [in one's head] than it is physical. It's more mental than physical. I think he's going to be fine. I just have to play him and keep him getting at-bats until he has a couple good solid games and he starts hitting the ball and I think things will start flowing from there."
I'm a bit worried about Geo's weight. He looks heavier this year. I hope all the time away at the WBC didn't get him out of shape.

Dan Haren has an 8.04 career ERA against the Cubs in three starts -- but only one since he came to the Diamondbacks. Most of that bad ERA comes from this June 10, 2004 game when he gave up 10 earned runs in 3.2 innings. The only current Cubs who were in that game -- Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez -- may not even play tonight. Alfonso Soriano is 6-for-17 vs. Haren from their time together in the AL, with 3 doubles and 2 HR. Hard to believe he has a 1-3 record with that ERA, but the D'backs have scored a total of three runs in Haren's four starts so far this year.
Ted Lilly has held Arizona hitters to a .233 average in 103 career AB. But among the 24 hits he's allowed to current D'backs are 4 doubles, 2 triples, and 7 homers, not including a certain famous HR in the 2007 NLDS. He'll have to keep the ball down tonight, particularly vs. Chris Young, who is 3-for-9 vs. Ted, all three of the hits being for extra bases (two doubles, a HR).
Neither of tonight's pitchers has issued many walks this year so far. Perhaps that will mean a quick game -- the "fastest" game so far this year was 2:34, last Friday's loss at St. Louis, and of the 17 games so far, eight have been three hours or longer, two of those being extra-inning affairs.
Important TV programming note! Because of game 6 in the Blackhawks/Flames NHL playoff series, the Cubs game has been moved to CSN Plus. In Chicago that's CLTV; the HD channel on Comcast is 285. "Check local listings". This should not affect anyone watching via MLB Extra Innings. See the MLB.com Mediacenter for more info, and go to this CSN Chicago page to find out what channel CLTV is on, if you have Comcast in the Chicago area.

I was a little worried when I read about Geo's added weight
back in March.
It seemed that his improvement has a ballplayer, and ascension to the big leagues, came after he lost all the weight, while working with Kerry Wood.
Now, some of the weight is back on
SackMan - April 27, 2009
A-ha!
The hidden cost of losing Kerry Wood reveals itself!
Goodie1969 - April 27, 2009
Put him on the Ted Lilly program.
He’ll get so fit, he’ll knock himself out.
znohitter - April 27, 2009
I would happily offer to help Geo watch his weight
Madison Cub Fan - April 27, 2009
I dunno if I'll be staying up for a lot of these west coast games...
…they just run so darn late. I don’t see any Twitter updates from Gordo yet, meaning the lineup is probably still being fiddled with. Even so, the Diamondbacks have scored the 2nd lowest total in the NL – 63 runs (we’ve scored 82) – and no one outside of Lopez and Reynolds is hitting the ball with anything above a 100 OPS+. Qualls already has 4 saves and a 12:1 K:B, so we do not want the ball in his hands.
I really would like to say the Cubbies are gonna win this one, but considering I have absolutely no idea what our lineup is gonna look like, I’ll just say we are gonna take at least 2/3 in this series. Keep em low, Theodore.
Dan
dtpollitt - April 27, 2009
Who's gonna post the GIF?
I feel like watching Teddy slam the glove.
chilango2 - April 27, 2009
Yeah
I love that too!
wrigleyrocker12 - April 27, 2009
That glove had it coming
It shouldn’t had held the ball that was hit…
chilango2 - April 27, 2009
You LOVE it? Oh man, why?
santoswoodenlegs - April 27, 2009
Because it reminds me of when we got murdered in the NLDS in 2007...
…Oh, wait, that’s not something I want to relive. Ever.
dtpollitt - April 27, 2009
That was
A succesful season. Yes I would’ve like more, but it still was.
wrigleyrocker12 - April 27, 2009
So try remembering the good things...not the painful sucky things.
santoswoodenlegs - April 27, 2009
Seriously though
Do you have the gif?
wrigleyrocker12 - April 27, 2009
I'm glad no one posted it.
Let’s leave it in history where it belongs.
Al Yellon - April 27, 2009
just wait
Crawdad or “Ol Pete” will come along and do it.
drewishdrewid - April 27, 2009
Unsteady Teddy
When I posted the Lilly gif it was in response to a numskull comment by Santo on how Lilly never lets anything get to him when he’s on the mound. Hello Ron? How soon Ron glossed over that comical meltdown by Unsteady Teddy.
DrCrawdad - April 27, 2009
what did I tellya folks?
ain’t he a peach?
drewishdrewid - April 27, 2009
Ain't you a ...
DrCrawdad - April 27, 2009
Can't wait for this
Especially when the best thing I have to do right now is play ink ball.

wrigleyrocker12 - April 27, 2009
super
chilango2 - April 27, 2009
That's if you're counting each body as "1".
I wouldn’t count Joey as “1”, and I almost wouldn’t count Hill as “1”, either. So we are gonna have a catcher and a shitty outfielder on our bench tonight. Wow, this is great.
dtpollitt - April 27, 2009
Why not for Hill?
He’s been great.
wrigleyrocker12 - April 27, 2009
He's not bad this year, no no.
But he played in game #7…and game #17. Kinda hard for a guy to do that, even though he had a hit the other night. And he’s a catcher…that would probably have to play 3B or 1B if someone got hurt. I don’t like it.
dtpollitt - April 27, 2009
And I hope Teddy pitches a complete game shutout and both of them STAY on the bench tonight.
santoswoodenlegs - April 27, 2009
The fact Bradley didnt hit the DL
is a joke
Hammer - April 27, 2009
Just one more thing he hasn't hit this year
SackMan - April 27, 2009
ill go with
heyooooo

Gordo Says:
dtpollitt - April 27, 2009
Weak...
3 of our 4 premier offensive players are out.
wrigleyrocker12 - April 27, 2009
yikes....I assume they must be somewhat optmisitc about one of the three
…Lee, Rami or Bradley to continue to go this shorthanded w/o any moves.
JB 23 - April 27, 2009
Jeez, Reed's pressing already....
Cleanup?
carmen_fanzone - April 27, 2009
Lilly batting 9th in that lineup?
Al Yellon - April 27, 2009
LOL!
ChipSet - April 27, 2009
I foresee lots of hitting and running
and attempting to manufacture runs with this lineup.
Bill Potter - April 27, 2009
I hear they call that
small ball.
drewishdrewid - April 27, 2009
I remember hearing rumors in Spring Training
that the Cubs bench allowed them to play this “small ball.” We shall see if they actually can.
Bill Potter - April 27, 2009
oftentime
the adjective “scrappy” is applied before this phrase, “small ball.”
drewishdrewid - April 27, 2009
or tonight
before the word lineup
CUBS SCRAPPY LINEUP
Cubbie-Tim - April 27, 2009
maybe they'll show it to us
onna tee-vee. Maybe Lou actually wrote that.
drewishdrewid - April 27, 2009
they go hand-in-hand, really.
along with “intangibles”
Bill Potter - April 27, 2009
also
gutting it out. Toolsy.
drewishdrewid - April 27, 2009
add
hustling, diving, tenacious and “little things” to the pot, as well.
Bill Potter - April 27, 2009
grippy
“a real player”.
drewishdrewid - April 27, 2009
add it all up
and you’ve got Ryan Theriot.
Bill Potter - April 27, 2009
what about
these little screws here? They don’t seem to go anyplace.
drewishdrewid - April 27, 2009
Speaking of mlb extra innings...
Im new with the extra inning package. I live in the phoenix area. does anyone know if the cubs broadcast of the game will be blacked out? im not thrilled with the idea of having to listen to darren sutton for 9 innings.
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
Any game on your local broadcast schedule will be blacked out.
santoswoodenlegs - April 27, 2009
Cripes!
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
thank goodness ill be in attendance for tomorrow nights game. i cant handle Sutton.
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
On FSN Comcast here in Tucson
tucsoncubsfan - April 27, 2009
Do this:
Take the worst possible scenario, apply it to you, pay $150 to MLB, and that’s probably what’s gonna happen.
dtpollitt - April 27, 2009
Gordo also says that Z is listed as "extra hitter" on lineup card.
wow.
zevkalman - April 27, 2009
This team needs

For those who care
Ben Gordon is day to day on his hamstring. Gosh, we better protect Kane, Havlat, and Toews.
wrigleyrocker12 - April 27, 2009
Huh?
Who dat?
chilango2 - April 27, 2009
All I'm going to say is
Gosh, I hope you’re kidding.
wrigleyrocker12 - April 27, 2009
Never mind
I just realized it was basketball and hockey. Not a fan.
chilango2 - April 27, 2009
perhaps if we combined the two sports?
Hocketball? Baskey?
I imagine guys on an ice rink skating around trying to shoot a hard black rubber ball into nets 10 feet above them, and only the “Goal Tenders” have sticks.
santoswoodenlegs - April 27, 2009
You're onto something big!
The National Hocketball League. Est. 2009. The Chicago BlackBulls will open the season against the New York IslandKnicks.
chilango2 - April 27, 2009
Sportsball
You go nine quarters, each one with an alternating base/basket/football/puck
defense has sticks
offense has bats
the goalie wears skates.
laidbackliam - April 27, 2009
No kidding, we should lock up Cutler and throw away the key this week. The injury bug is in town....
JB 23 - April 27, 2009
Am I the only one who doesn't think Cutler is going to be that great?
His numbers so far haven’t exactly been phenomenal, and he’ll have nobody to throw to this year.
aramis - April 27, 2009
I was thinking the same thing
They’re pretty similar to Ortons.
wrigleyrocker12 - April 27, 2009
I mean I understand being excited by a QB,
but I still think Aaron Rodgers is a great deal better than Cutler. With their potent offense, and a newly buffed up defense, I feel the Packers are the team to beat in the NFC North this year.
aramis - April 27, 2009
someone after my own heart :)
Even if I’m not sure I agree. I hope Aaron has a good year. (ducks as all the Bears fans realize I am a Packer fan)
Madison Cub Fan - April 27, 2009

AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
He who?
chilango2 - April 27, 2009
holy crap, sorry.
i suppose a name would have been helpful, sorry:)
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
You still haven't
Given a name….
wrigleyrocker12 - April 27, 2009
Hanley Ramirez
dtpollitt gave it……
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
Dan did it right under you, it's Hanley Ramirez.
aramis - April 27, 2009
o
Got it.
wrigleyrocker12 - April 27, 2009
Well, I don't root for injuries.
But I won’t be unhappy if Hanley can’t play this weekend.
Al Yellon - April 27, 2009
"He" refers to Hanley Ramirez...
dtpollitt - April 27, 2009
Also, we don't have to face Josh Johnson, which is great luck.
aramis - April 27, 2009
yep, and nolasco hasnt looked good at all
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
Yeah, who knows about Nolasco.
But Josh Johnson is the real deal. His stuff is absolutely sick.

chilango2 - April 27, 2009
GIve it up Lou
If Bradley has no time table to return, put him on the DL. Put it retroactive to Saturday so its really less than two weeks. He should be well rested and ready to go then.
Chanman25 - April 27, 2009
Yeah, I agree with this. maybe they're worried about putting him on the DL because of the perception of the injury.
aramis - April 27, 2009
agreed
if they dont have a return date put him on the DL. He is taking up a usable spot.
jkobus - April 27, 2009
David Ross RBI double

wrigleyrocker12 - April 27, 2009
It's going to be

sue369 - April 27, 2009
well if the Cubs don't do well............
you might not want to be here anyways :(
Madison Cub Fan - April 27, 2009
but they will do well, so plan on sticking around!
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
Hope so,
but a lineup with Johnson batting cleanup isn’t extremely inspiring
aramis - April 27, 2009
well the dbacks for whatever reason dont score runs for haren. 3 in 4 starts(knock on wood)
so hopefully a ton of offense wont be needed tonight.
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
true
aramis - April 27, 2009
I was away for a week, has it still been extremely negative once the team gets down?
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
Oh shut up!
santoswoodenlegs - April 27, 2009

AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
Yes indeed it does.

Lou's rookie year...
Ladies? Thoughts?
carmen_fanzone - April 27, 2009
He didn't
quite have that egg shape back then.
wrigleyrocker12 - April 27, 2009
Marv Staehle wears funny hats.
And of course, Lou never played for the Pilots. He was taken by them in the expansion draft, but was traded to KC just before Opening Day, where he won the Rookie of the Year award.
Just think. If the Seattle Pilots hadn’t traded him, Lou might have played his career out as a Milwaukee Brewer.
Al Yellon - April 27, 2009
Marc Steaele
Is actually related to my friend.
wrigleyrocker12 - April 27, 2009
what the hell
every happened to Marv Staehle?
Oh, traded to the Expose. Harsh.
drewishdrewid - April 27, 2009
I would rather NOT have any thoughts
Looks like a reject from a defective batch of G.I Joe dolls
Doggie Stalker - April 27, 2009
Xrays negative on Hanley's wrist.
guess were gonna see him this weekend
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
not necessarily, he'll probably be day to day, like half of our lineup
aramis - April 27, 2009
Pardon my ignorance
But why is Gathright called “rejo” by B.Miles in the lineup?
Reddevil - April 27, 2009
I think "rejo" is Reed Johnson
chilango2 - April 27, 2009
I knew I was gonna feel dumb
But I’d rather feel dumb than have Gathright starting. Thx.
Reddevil - April 27, 2009
no offense, but so would we:)
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
Also, it wasn't B. Miles, it was Gordo tweeting....

AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009

zevkalman - April 27, 2009
huh? That means Reed Johnson. Gathright isn't going to start.
aramis - April 27, 2009
good grief, dont scare me like that.
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
Are you implying that Gathright isn't up to snuff?
zevkalman - April 27, 2009
he's close, but no.
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
I think he'd be great if he could hit in the majors.
zevkalman - April 27, 2009
so would you!
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
I'd rather be Jim Hendry
zevkalman - April 27, 2009
close?
to what? The gatorade dispenser?
drewishdrewid - April 27, 2009
Lineups out yet?
kanderber - April 27, 2009

zevkalman - April 27, 2009
sadly yes, reed johnson as our cleanup hitter is all you need to know:)
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
ugh
aramis - April 27, 2009
Anyone recall Augie Ojeda going off on us last year?
I know he will be starting at SS so im hoping he doesnt repeat.
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
He annoys me because of how well he hits us. And because he was once a Cub.
zevkalman - April 27, 2009
Early
it listed Lilly vs Petit on Cubs.com, did they switch it back ?
Cubbinstrongsince86 - April 27, 2009
Cubs.com lists Lilly vs. Haren.
So does Yahoo.
Al Yellon - April 27, 2009
as does mlb.com
aramis - April 27, 2009
i also saw lilly and petit early on yesterday but I think it was changed later in the day.
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009

same thing was listed on the diamondbacks website too
Cubbinstrongsince86 - April 27, 2009
Gameday has Haren, too, FWIW
Bill Potter - April 27, 2009

After the two Marlins debacles I think going to Chase Field is the worst.
Ted Lilly meeting the only place and person that has ever stopped him. That will be fun to watch.

if Hoff is hitting the ball well
do we bench him for Lee tho? Dont we need to play the hot hand a little
Cubbie-Tim - April 27, 2009
I guarantee 100% that Lou will start Lee over Hoff, when Lee is healthy
he stated that he’s going for defense over offense from now on. Hoff is still a butcher
BoVandy - April 27, 2009
in RF yes, not so much at 1B
Cubbie-Tim - April 27, 2009
Lee is gold glove caliber, Hoff is not
Hoff will return to the bench when Lee is 100%
BoVandy - April 27, 2009
Lee is great on D
…..unfortunately I would take 4 other first baseman in the NL Central alone over him. 3 definetely and 4 most likely.
Hammer - April 27, 2009
not with neck spasms
Cubbie-Tim - April 27, 2009
never 100% with neck injury
so he will be close sure, but never again the same, trust me
Cubbie-Tim - April 27, 2009
Are you related to Micah or did DLee do something personally to both you and clutche?
Madison Cub Fan - April 27, 2009
neither
just want to see some victories, and if Micah is hitting and able to play 1B why rush back an injured Dlee who is not hitting?
Cubbie-Tim - April 27, 2009
but you were on that bandwagon back in ST
Madison Cub Fan - April 27, 2009
and the offense seems to backing it up, right?
I am not anti Lee, but i am anti Losing. Dlee has not been hitting the ball, and has a bad neck, why not let him rest a bit?
Cubbie-Tim - April 27, 2009
If it was anyone else filling in besides Micah would you be that excited?
I guess I don’t want double clutching Theriot throwing to someone who isn’t 6 ft 6 who can make some great plays @ first. Last time I checked Micah’s detractors disliked his defense not his offense.
It’s ok to have a man crush on Micah. :)
Madison Cub Fan - April 27, 2009
im see nothing wrong with giving him some time
he is a 1B, not horrid at 1B and is hitting the ball. What is wrong with that?
Cubbie-Tim - April 27, 2009
fwiw
my complaints about Hoff on D are related to him playing outfield. He’s apparently a competent first baseman. No, he’s not as good as Lee, but he can stand in when Lee’s not healthy.
However, if Lou and Lee say that Lee is ready to come back on Wednesday, I want Lee back on Wednesday.
drewishdrewid - April 27, 2009
This presents my hidden Lou theory of the season
HYPOTHETICAL AGAIN
Hoff gets hot, lets say he dominates today. Lee is ready to play, but Hoff is hot. Next thing you know we have a platoon going.

Sucks but I figure getting in early and leaving late is smart these days.
Prediction – Nov 3 – the Cubs win the WS and the DOW makes a record leap.

Glad i was spending my time going to see DMB on Friday and Saturday
heine41 - April 27, 2009
cue DBM argument
in five, four, three, two…
>points
drewishdrewid - April 27, 2009
I hate DMB fans that think...
DMB is the greatest most revolutionary thing to ever happen to music.
I once had someone argue to me that the drummer for DMB was better than Neil Peart. I couldnt stop laughing for 5 minutes.
jkobus - April 27, 2009
DMB and Rush are 1 and 2 on my list respectively
I’ve seen DMB 30 times now and Rush 7 times. I study this music. Peart is no question the takes the cake when it comes to technical precision and complexity of rhythms. Carter is a blast to listen to, improvises out of no where and performs his music like no one else.
heine41 - April 27, 2009
Glad to see...
there are knowledgeable DMB fans. I have never had a love for their music but I see nothing wrong with them.
Saw Rush for the first time when they came through Chicago for their snakes and arrows tour, and man can they still rock for their age.
jkobus - April 27, 2009
Typecasting DMB fans or saying “glad to see there are knowledgeable DMB fans” is akin to saying all of Wrigley Field and Cubs fans are drunken preppy assholes. Grow the fuck up.
dtpollitt - April 27, 2009
i dont see how that was necessary but to each his own
kodypuckett23 - April 27, 2009
In the last 10 minutes
I’ve heard “I hate DMB fans…” and “Glad to see there are knowledgeable DMB fans.”
dtpollitt - April 27, 2009
I said...
I hate DMB fans that think
jkobus - April 27, 2009
I'm a DMB fan, and I took it personally, because you're making a wholly ignorant and silly blanket statement.
To each his own, but I’m hard-pressed to find another band that started in the late 80s/early 90s that’s still making platinum records, winning Grammys, selling out every single show they put on (and is always on the top 10 list of biggest tours), wasn’t created by a TV show or MTV, writes and performs its own music, and sticks to its roots. I’m pretty short-minded, because obviously I grew up with this music, but someone like Pearl Jam comes to mind in staying-power like DMB, but not many other bands. And in an age of shit music, I appreciate the bravado a full 7 piece band brings to a live concert. They don’t make ’em like they used to.
dtpollitt - April 27, 2009
I fully agree with that statement.
And yeah I probably could have worded it a little nicer. Seeing you guys so passionate about DMB is making me go listen and see for myself.
As for the age of shit music…man you couldnt be more right. I wish I was born about 20-30 years ago just for the music.
jkobus - April 27, 2009
Well then, I’m sorry I told you off.
My dad and I have an on-going argument about who makes the best music
-England or the USA. I am continually arguing guys like Segar, Springsteen, DMB, Pearl Jam, Cash, etc.-against him and his Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon bicep tattoo. I think I’ll eternally lose this argument.dtpollitt - April 27, 2009
I have no idea why that's crossed out.

jkobus - April 27, 2009
How about Depeche Mode?
But that’s just my tastes in music
chitownhawkeye - April 27, 2009
I'm not a huge DMB fan but I like some of the music
I will agree with you though. Whenever I get into arguments with people about what eras of music is better, one question I always ask regarding current music is “Name a recent band that will likely be around and that people will want to see when the band is in their 50’s/60’s”.
DMB is one of the few and they have been around for 15 years.
rlpete - April 28, 2009
The only ones I have met though
So thats how Im gonna end up opinion towards them.
jkobus - April 27, 2009
not all DMB fans are stupid college drunks
There is something real in that music, I wish i could just get everyone to see it. Don’t waste your time on the studio things. Too influenced by radio friendly minded producers. If there is one thing i can do to change your mind, get Live Trax 15 thats about to be released through the DMB site: www.dmband.com. Form your opinions from this.
Snakes and Arrows tour was fantastic. Despite looking like he was going to keel over dead on his drums, neil rocked the house and geddy still brings it
heine41 - April 27, 2009
Thanks for the info
Been looking for some new music, I will defiantly have to check it out and hopefully like what i hear.
jkobus - April 27, 2009
If there is one thing i can ever give someone
it would be DMB’s music. Sure there are idiots who embarrass every fan base, but as I’m sure you know, the majority of any fanbase is knowledgeable and passionate about their, well, passion
heine41 - April 27, 2009
Yeah everyone has them
I like finding the good fans, which is why Im glad I found BCB lots of great Cub’s fans here :)
jkobus - April 27, 2009
I could not agree more
Sometimes when i see stupid cubs fans i get angry
Don’t represent my team like that you fucktard!
heine41 - April 27, 2009
I'd start with
Red Rocks or Before These Crowded Streets if you want the best of DMB. That, and the new album. It’s gonna be unreal with the death of LeRoi as its emotional core.
dtpollitt - April 27, 2009
I don't think so
Granted RR and BTCS are classics, its almost cliche to recommend. In today’s ‘market’, I’m giving people the newest versions of songs from the 08 and now the 09 tours. This would be Live Trax. 13-15, and Live at Mile High which is in stores
and i recommend everyone get Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King
heine41 - April 27, 2009
Live at Mile High is amazing
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
Agreed
But if I could stress it enough, I would point people into the direction of the Live Trax Series
heine41 - April 27, 2009
I don't buy the Live Trax.
DMB allows you to record all their shows free, legally, and to download and share them online as much as you wish as long as you do not profit off them. I download all the shows I want online and don’t have to pay a cent for Live Trax. Red Rocks is the best live CD, bar none. And I still think BTCS is the best studio album.
dtpollitt - April 27, 2009
I've been downloading shows for years and mailing tapers my blank cds before that
But nothing compares to a soundboard recording. Plus, if you know where to look, you don’t have to pay a cent for live trax either :-P
heine41 - April 27, 2009
no arguments tonight
heine41 - April 27, 2009
Thatta boy! In Charlotte?
I’ll be going to my 23 & 24th DMB concerts this summer, and will probably end up going two the one here in KC and the last one of the tour in OK, too. The new album is gonna be sick, I’ve been downloading all the tour shows lately. I love “Why I Am”.
dtpollitt - April 27, 2009
Ill be attending my first next Wed, cannot wait.
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
Enjoy!
You will not be disappointed
heine41 - April 27, 2009
I was in Vandy. 6 rows from the stage :)
This was show number 30 and it was unreal. Love where the band is growing to. Why I Am is awesome live. AWESOME! FTWIS and Spaceman are also going to be very good. The band is playing out of their minds. Best i’ve seen them
heine41 - April 27, 2009
My claim to fame:
I was @ the Iowa State show the night before Live @ Luther College was recorded. It was amazing.
dtpollitt - April 27, 2009
was at Alpine 04 which is live trax 8, busch stadium which is live trax 13 and alpine 08 which is going to be released as live trax 15
All that…..but no dave and time show for me…. :( props man
heine41 - April 27, 2009
I’ve been to Alpine every year for the last 7 or 9 years, I can’t even remember at this point. I took my brother when we were in high school and we have been going ever since. We made the drive from Minnesota every year, then when I went to UW it was a bit easier. We camp at the same exact two camp sites every year – Kettle Moraine – and last year had a big assed RV with a real neat DMB flag and flag pole that I home made. I truly believe Alpine is his favorite place to play.
dtpollitt - April 27, 2009
Alpine!!!
You and I are in agreement there. My first DMB show was 9.1.02 at Alpine and I’ve been every year since. Now we do a lake house on lake geneva with about 20 people…most of whom are my clones who are avid followers after i shoved it down their throats.
I agree. Alpine is the ultimate
heine41 - April 27, 2009

Jim McLennan - April 27, 2009
Nice, it wasnt on the guide yesterday afternoon and i never checked back, thanks!
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
I went to snakepit, not good.
There is a video of Lilly throwing the glove. It was the first time I went to the other teams site, I do like seeing the other teams perspective on the match up. Al maybe you should start including that in your pre-game thread if it isn’t too much of a pain.
At snakepit they only had 12 comments, how weak.
slocs55 - April 27, 2009
We're all at the game
:-)
Jim McLennan - April 27, 2009
Im going tomorrow night and id be willing to bet there will be almost the same amount of blue as sedona red.
AzCubfan24 - April 27, 2009
Yep
You’re probably right. However, in the interests of North-South diplomacy, and my respect for Al, best if we do not open that can of worms again…
Oh, and the Lilly video will forever remain his defining moment to Arizona fans – even if [as I pointed out in the preview], he has largely owned us outside of that game. Sometimes life is strange like that.
Jim McLennan - April 27, 2009
I had to say something to combat watching that video.
As I said, I liked your gameday thread and will probably check it out for the rest of this series. I had to do a double take with Haren’s ERA when I saw his record.
slocs55 - April 27, 2009
Hey, if I were you guys, I'd show that video all the time.
I don’t like it, cuz I’m a Cubs’ fan, but of course you should show it.
