NOTE: This is auto-posting at 11:30 am CDT while I am busy at work. If the game has been postponed by 12:30 I will post a rainout thread at that time.
Certain people at this site who have too much time on their hands spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out what might have happened if Wednesday's game had been rained out -- which it wasn't.
I'm going to save you a lot of time. Today, the weather forecast is even less promising and radars don't look good. Unlike the situation with Wednesday's game where the opponent, the Padres, wasn't scheduled to return to Wrigley in 2009 after yesterday, this is the first of three Houston visits to Chicago this season. The teams have common off days on July 30 and September 3, and a makeup game on either of those days could be done -- both are adjacent to already-scheduled Cubs-Astros series, are feasible travel-wise, and neither date would violate MLB's 20-consecutive-days rule.
Thus, I wouldn't be surprised to see an early postponement this afternoon.
So, you might be asking, why are the Astros "the new Pirates"? Last year, the Cubs played Pittsburgh 12 times by early June. By the end of this series, presuming all three are played, eight of the Cubs' first 37 games will have been against Houston, and there is another three-game series between the two teams in Houston in less than three weeks, making 11 of the first 58 against Houston. Let's hope the results are the same as the Cubs vs. Pirates in 2008 -- the Cubs won 9 of those 12, and might have won two more if not for some shoddy defense and relief pitching. So far this year, the Cubs have won four of five vs. Houston.
The Cubs' four-game winning streak has moved them from sixth to fourth in Yahoo's new power rankings.

Brian Moehler's ERA is 8.44. That's really bad, but the good news for him is that it has actually come down steadily with each of his starts. He threw seven good innings in his last start -- against the Padres, who as we just saw, have trouble hitting. His previous start vs. Washington, decent results, same thing, bad-hitting club. He started against the Cubs on April 8 in Houston and they drilled him for eight hits and seven runs and he used 37 pitches to get five outs. Moehler is 37 and when he was a September callup for the Tigers in 1996, one of his teammates was... Cubs bench coach Alan Trammell. If that isn't a signal to retire, I don't know what is.
Randy Wells threw well in his first major league start last Friday. He'll be facing the Astros for the first time and has never faced anyone on their current roster.
Today's game is on WGN, for the first time in a few days, and on EI via FSN Houston. For today's other games see the MLB.com Mediacenter.

heres hoping for baseball today
heine41 - May 15, 2009
yeah...
I’m thinking its not going to happen. sucks. and sucks for my fantasy team..
illinicubgirl - May 15, 2009
a downfall to having lots of cubs on a team :)
i doubt bradleys suspension counts on a rain out :(
heine41 - May 15, 2009
I have tejada too
Don’t hurt me! I just drafted people I knew, which turns out to be a lot of teams the cubs play, obviously. It’s a free league and I’m just trying to learn fantasy baseball. (while getting my ass kicked by 11 guys.) Next year I’ll be smarter about it all. I have Tulo though too… I think he’s getting the start..
illinicubgirl - May 15, 2009
Ahem.....
carmen_fanzone - May 15, 2009
I was hoping you'd say something...
chilango2 - May 15, 2009
LOL....my sig says it all....
(Really I only hate the “Well, Randy Johnson beat the Cubs today, but he’s on my fantasy team, so it’s not a total loss” kind of posts)
carmen_fanzone - May 15, 2009
And I adhere to your philosophy
chilango2 - May 15, 2009
sorry
I’ll stop. I really don’t care much about my fantasy team.. I just wanted to do decent being the only girl in a league with 11 guys. So fair, I fail. Plus, I do NOT care how my team does as long as the cubs win.
illinicubgirl - May 15, 2009
Haha...just giving you a hard time...
carmen_fanzone - May 15, 2009
As opposed to people who fill their fantasy teams
with Brewers , Cards etc ?
I actually only got two Cubs ( Lilly and Z) as they went fast so to speak. So I loaded up on Red Sox, Braves, Indians and other
teams I LIKE.

Washington is not a bad hitting team!
They’re fifth in the league in runs scored right now. The Cubs are eighth.
It’s their pitching that is dreadful. They’ve already given up 202 runs, which is 30 more than the second-worst team in the NL, San Diego.
Josh Timmers - May 15, 2009
And their bullpen is what is really killing them.
cowsarecool220 - May 15, 2009
The Nats
Surprisingly they have 5 regulars hitting over .300 with Guzman, Zimmerman, Johnson, Flores and Dunn.
Conversely their bullpen has a record of 1-11. I know there was some off-season interest here in signing Daniel Cabrera. He has been awful with an 0-4 record with 28 walks and 13 strikeouts in 34 innings (and yes those are the numbers, they aren’t reversed).
After the Aaron Crow fiasco last season, they have to take Strasberg #1 AND get him signed.
rlpete - May 15, 2009
The Cubs are a strong team, but...
… the NL so many very weak teams – Pirates, Astros, Nationals, Rockies, D-Backs & Padres – it’s pathetic.
Kudos to the Cubs for getting fat off these frail franchises.
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
and thank you for
not saying anything negative for once.
Honestly, I mean it.
tootle - May 15, 2009
It's not the Cubs fault...
… their opponents stink. And they’ve very successfully so far taken advantage of the situation and that’s what good teams should do.
In May the Cubs have 15 games with these weak teams and 8 in April. Unless the pattern changes in the near future the Cubs will have weathered their rash of injuries very, very well.
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
good luck to your White Sox.
tootle - May 15, 2009
And we've got three of the hottest teams in all of baseball
in our very division combating us.
neverAcquiesce - May 15, 2009
The other good teams...
… should do very well IF they pound the weak teams as the Cubs have done.
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009

neverAcquiesce - May 15, 2009
top ten Worst teams in baseball right now:
Top 10 Worst Teams
1. Washington — .344 — NL East
2. Tie: Arizona, San Diego — .371 — NL West
4. Cleveland — .389 — AL Central
5. Colorado — .394 — NL West
6. Pittsburg — .412 — NL Central
7. Oakland — .419 — AL West
8. Baltimore — .429 — AL East
9. Tampa Bay — .444 — AL East
10. Chicago WS — .455 — AL Central
five AL teams. What do you know.
drewishdrewid - May 15, 2009
I felt all tingly when I saw the Sux on that list.
chilango2 - May 15, 2009
heh.
just putting the lie to the concept that the NL is so very very bad. The NL WEST is very very bad, but it’s not like the Cubs play those guys all the time.
Houston is 11th or 12th worst, I think, so I don’t mind having them. :P
drewishdrewid - May 15, 2009
Interestingly...
… the Sox record was pretty much the same at this point in the season last year.
I get tingly too when I see my favorite White Sox on a list, on a list of the World Champion teams 2005 to present.
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
You can't possibly still think that pitching staff is championship caliber.
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
No, not the Sox and neither is the Cubs, sorry.
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
I beg to differ.
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
You think the Cubs staff...
… is championship worthy? Perhaps IF they’re on their best days, but it’s basically the same starting staff from last season. How’d that go for you?
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
The pitching staff isn't the reason we failed in the playoffs Dr. Genius.
santoswoodenlegs - May 15, 2009
Remind me then about game one.
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
Dempster shit the bed.
So what? the series isn’t 1 game long. The offense scored a grand total of 6 runs the entire series. The defense disappeared in game 2. We lost game 3 3-1.
The pitching wasn’t the reason we lost. The gloves and bats didn’t show up.
santoswoodenlegs - May 15, 2009
The pitching and in particular Dempster...
… lost game one. The offense and defense didn’t help but his crappy performance in game one played a mighty role in losing the game and losing the series.
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
No. Actually just game 1.
Game 2 was lost by infielder errors and game 3 we just got beat. Aside from game 1, the pitching staff showed up.
calicubfan - May 15, 2009
Well wholly absolving the pitching staff...
… as the other poster did, is wrong. The pitching staff blew the first game. So the pitching staff is not without blame. It’s not like they lost all 3 with 1-0 scores.
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
nope they lost Game 2 because the infield forgot how to catch and throw.
and they lost Game 3 because the offense forgot how to hit a baseball.
santoswoodenlegs - May 15, 2009
Yeah, that was an awful game...
… and IIRC the infield accounted for the error terror and those were otherwise good fielders.
I watched game 2 while I was in Pittsburgh. I felt bad for my many good friends who happen to be Cubs fans. It was ugly.
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
Yes..it was bad.
And other than Dempster the pitching staff really did not anything to lose those games for us. We should have been in Games 2 and 3 much more than we were. I DO absolve the pitching staff, sans Dempster.
santoswoodenlegs - May 15, 2009
Pretty damn good up till October 1.
I’ll take my chances with 97 regular season wins again.
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
What was Zambrano's 2nd half ERA, even with his No-No.
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
LOL....you're evaluating pitchers using ERA.
1st half 2.84
2nd half 5.80
santoswoodenlegs - May 15, 2009
yeah, who cares about runs that a pitchers allows
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
Not really the best way to evaluate a pitcher
Shanghai Badger - May 15, 2009
"run that a pitcher allows"
How do you measure those? Because ERA doesn’t really do that.
santoswoodenlegs - May 15, 2009
Earned runs
DrCrawdad - May 16, 2009
Your championship worthy starters ERA...
Zambrano 5.80
Dempsters 4.65
Lilly 3.65
Harden 4.97
DrCrawdad - May 17, 2009
Um....
1. M. Buehrle
2. J. Danks
3. G. Floyd
4. J. Contreras
5. B. Colon
OR
1. Zambrano
2. T. Lilly
3. R. Dempster
4. R. Harden
5. S. Marshall
santoswoodenlegs - May 15, 2009
Right.
The Sox have two pitchers this year, Buehrle and Danks.
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
don't forget
Clayton Richard
tony412 - May 15, 2009
I just looked at his stats...
I think I will forget him.
santoswoodenlegs - May 15, 2009
I don't believe I said ...
… the Sox starters were better than the Cubs. If it read that way, then either I phrased it poorly or it was misread.
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
no you didn't
but a little clarification in your post would have gone a long way.
tootle - May 15, 2009
Which, by my math, is half.
Including a certain Chicago teamed not named the Cubs.
neverAcquiesce - May 15, 2009
Who we get to play soon....
…to add to our list of teams we play that “suck”.
carmen_fanzone - May 15, 2009
Do you honestly believe that records at this point...
… tell the whole story?
So the Indians are the 4th worst team in MLB? God, who in their right mind would have picked them then to be the best in the AL Central?
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
Small sample size
chilango2 - May 15, 2009
Sigh.
I wasn’t the only one.
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
True and ...
… the Indians and Sox are better than every NL team on that worst record list.
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
I'll give you that one.
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
Tampa Bay?
carmen_fanzone - May 15, 2009
oh, NL team....yeah...
not saying much, but yeah, you’re right.
carmen_fanzone - May 15, 2009
Well, except for Tampa Bay.
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
Yes...
they’re better than the worst teams….congratulations.
santoswoodenlegs - May 15, 2009
I think Cleveland
will still end up with a better record than the WhiteSox
tony412 - May 15, 2009
Actually, the Indians seem very similar to the Nats.
Both teams with horrible bullpens, below average starting pitching and decent offenses.
cowsarecool220 - May 15, 2009
you're the one
who said “the NL is full of teams that suck.”
I simply used the actual FACTS to demonstrate that the worst ten teams in baseball are evenly divided between the AL and the NL.
There are six teams in the AL playing under .500 (and one just at .500). There are seven teams in the NL playing under .500.
drewishdrewid - May 15, 2009
Fun with quotes!
I love it when people put things in quotes which the other person NEVER said. I never said that “the NL is full of teams that suck.” I stand by what I actually wrote.
Records at this early point hardly prove that there is an equal dispersion of bad teams.
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
right. my bad.
you said:
“the NL so many very weak teams – Pirates, Astros, Nationals, Rockies, D-Backs & Padres – it’s pathetic.”
You didn’t say they suck. You called them pathetic.
All right there:
http://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/2009/5/15/876186/the-astros-are-the-new-pirates#15751715
Ten worst teams — 5 AL, 5 NL.
So.
I guess it’s fair to say, then, that the AL is also full of teams that are “pathetic”.
Of course, one difference might be that of the five worst teams in their league, THE CUBS ARE NOT ONE OF THEM.
drewishdrewid - May 15, 2009
Did you just link to this same page?
How meta of you.

drewishdrewid - May 15, 2009
Yeah, I figured that out after a minute.
Still funny.
neverAcquiesce - May 15, 2009
No, but you implied
the Cubs only have a good record due to the inadequacies of their opponents. Newflash: the Cubs don’t make their schedule, they only play the games they’re told to. And, guess what? You’re supposed to beat the bad teams.
Thanks for playing.
neverAcquiesce - May 15, 2009
And I have to say in his defense
that he did give kudos to the cubs for beating them.
tootle - May 15, 2009

True.
He’s quite adept at passive-aggressiveness.
neverAcquiesce - May 15, 2009

tony412 - May 15, 2009
trust me...
I don’t have a tolerant ear for him….
I’ve gotten involved in a few flame wars with him during game threads.
tootle - May 15, 2009
I
am trying to keep the peace though.
tootle - May 15, 2009
No backhand intended at all...
… just a statement of facts, as I see them.
The Cubs are a strong team. And as I further said, they’ve pounded the weak teams in the NL, this in spite of the Cubs injuries. That’s what good teams do and kudos to the Cubs for that.
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
and that's why I've been defending you.
tootle - May 15, 2009
New sig line!
Shanghai Badger - May 15, 2009

drewishdrewid - May 15, 2009

DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
did you answer mine?
drewishdrewid - May 15, 2009
Answer my question about the six NL teams and I will answer the
question you followed with.
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
Clearly you don't have the courage and candor to answer.
But I will answer yours.
All of the AL teams you listed are playing poorly at this time. Tampa, Cleveland and the Sox are all better than every of the 6 NL teams I listed and beyond that. The other AL teams probably are at least better than the 6 NL teams.
I honestly don’t know how any honest person could contend with my proposition that the NL has more lousy, weak teams than the AL.
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
it's called
clicking away.
You insist that the NL is full of suck. I responded by showing you that both leagues are about equally full of suck.
If you don’t like that, you can go suck on it.
drewishdrewid - May 15, 2009
And you still have not answered.
Suck on that.
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
And that’s just plain bullshit that I don’t know if even you believe or anyone else.
DrCrawdad - May 15, 2009
Step up and answer...
… If you honestly believe your statement, of those NL/AL teams rank them from best to worst.
Tampa Bay

AFAIK there haven't been any interleague games yet.
Or if there have been, not many. About half the NL will be under .500, half the AL, and half the PCL. Regardless of where they lie relative to eachother in talent.
aldimond - May 15, 2009
5 of the top 6 are NL teams
DrCrawdad - May 16, 2009
Yay for WGN so I can actually see a game (if there's no rain)
I really feel that there’s far fewer WGN games this year.
Arbusto - May 15, 2009
I hope they get the game in.
But, as you said, the forecast doesn’t look good. If it is rained out, will there be a double-header over the weekend or a makeup game later this season?
Vermont Cubs Fan - May 15, 2009
Just came in from doing errands
The skies out west look ominous. It’s sprinkling in River North as we speak. If the game would start now, they might be able to play, but I doubt there’ll be baseball today. Look at the radar.
chilango2 - May 15, 2009
I'm still home
Looking at the radar, and listening to my internal barometer, I did NOT leave here early to get to the bleachers. I’d be really surprised if they played today.
No Southern Belle - May 15, 2009
If the game IS rained out,
do you think they will skip Randy Wells in the rotation and put him in the bullpen for the rest of the week?

I would say yes

I’m in no position to argue. But wait ’til August when we get CR7, Ibrahimovic and Ribery…
chilango2 - May 15, 2009
it did. thanks.
you really think you’ll get ronaldo? I’m so sick of hearing about it…
illinicubgirl - May 15, 2009
If the "new" president wins the elections
then yes. He’s running on that platform.
However, I’d rather stick with Robben and Raul in the midfield, because: a. Van Nistelrooy will be back and, b)CR7 will cost over $100 million just to get him out of his ManU contract.

illinicubgirl - May 15, 2009

illinicubgirl - May 15, 2009
Nah...
You’re pulling my leg.
chilango2 - May 15, 2009
no
give everyone an extra day of rest, and push his start back a day. He’s gotta learn sometime.
drewishdrewid - May 15, 2009
It would make sense to do so.
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
Sorry..
but the way today is going for me… I’m like 99% sure it’ll get rained out. And I was hoping to have something to cheer me up!
illinicubgirl - May 15, 2009
Think dry.
neverAcquiesce - May 15, 2009
If the game is rained out today....
Oh never mind. Been there, done that.

No Tweeter updates from the ballpark yet
Bad sign, as lineups should be known by now.
chilango2 - May 15, 2009
who the tweet
who do you follow to get the tweets from the ballpark?
frisch - May 15, 2009
Gordon Wittenmyer
Can be found here.
chilango2 - May 15, 2009
Who The Tweet?
WTT? is the new WTF?
tony412 - May 15, 2009
I guess no baseball today.
Now I have nothing to do D:
Nooblet - May 15, 2009
Officially?
carmen_fanzone - May 15, 2009
..guess that answers my question...
Thanks Noob…
carmen_fanzone - May 15, 2009
xD
My bad, I don’t know how the weather is over there. I’m just assuming they wont be playing by the way everybody is talking.
Nooblet - May 15, 2009
sitting here at work in broadview.
I can’t imagine they will be playing baseball today.
mjk83 - May 15, 2009
alright...
I feel a little cheered up now. Thanks. I’m going to attempt to work for a little bit..
illinicubgirl - May 15, 2009
Looking at the radar and the forecast
I can’t imagine they’ll play today. I’m surprised it hasn’t been called already.
Shanghai Badger - May 15, 2009
Rats
I wanna see a Berkman redux of skittering into the dugout at a big flash of lightning.
In other news, I scored box seats above the Cubs dugout for the May 24th Padres game. First Cubs game in years—I’m stoked!
Cubbiefaithful - May 15, 2009
And a return
of the Berks per Bolt stat!
neverAcquiesce - May 15, 2009
It's pouring rain on the north side right now.
It doesn’t look very good. I’m at home waiting for them to make a decision before I decide to go to the park.
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
Cue up the Matlock episode thread, Al....
carmen_fanzone - May 15, 2009
Or for us out-of-towners
the AFV marathon.
neverAcquiesce - May 15, 2009
I long for the old days of
showing reruns of the Bozo show during rainouts.
tootle - May 15, 2009
Sigh :-)
zevkalman - May 15, 2009
or The Dick Van Dyke Show coming on right before games...
carmen_fanzone - May 15, 2009
But why would they show White Sox highlights? :)
KaliCub - May 15, 2009
Sadly, they show Maury and Steve Wilkos nowadays...
But we can discuss if we think those DNA tests are really worth it, given that the kid is an exact replica of daddy.
chilango2 - May 15, 2009
I don't about that Maury,
but I know he loves her chicken tetrazini!
neverAcquiesce - May 15, 2009
lol
Tate491 - May 15, 2009
No news is good news?
Anybody listening to the pregame show? Any updates?
chilango2 - May 15, 2009
No updates yet, but
I can’t see any way that this game is played today.
Shanghai Badger - May 15, 2009
Not even through rose-colored glasses?
neverAcquiesce - May 15, 2009
As a former co-worker of mine used to say...
…it’s “storming ass” in downtown Chicago right now.
daver - May 15, 2009
This storm
stretches from KS to lower MI. It’s moving towards us. Ain’t no way in hell they will even get started for a long time.
thermal54 - May 15, 2009
Moehler Sux....
This is going to be an ugly game today. Moehler is a ticking time bomb.
I just don’t wanna lose to the damn Cubs again.
baggs - May 15, 2009
You...you know you're on a Cubs blog, right?
daver - May 15, 2009
LOL must have got lost along the way
Your OTHER left.
tony412 - May 15, 2009
This isn't Topeka?
drewishdrewid - May 15, 2009
I know.....
I’m getting both sides of the game
I like reading what crazy things Cubs fan say about other teams
baggs - May 15, 2009
You're welcome here....
… just be nice, we’ll be nice in return. We like when knowledgeable fans from other teams stop by.
You do know it’s pretty likely this game is going to be rained out, right?
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
Also...
Kind of foreshadowing a Moehler disaster..
baggs - May 15, 2009
Ah, OK.
Well, good news for youse, it’s raining like crazy in Chicago, so this game will almost certainly be postponed and may even be cancelled.
daver - May 15, 2009
It won't be "cancelled".
Most likely, rescheduled for July 30 or September 3.
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
Oh, right. That's what I meant.
daver - May 15, 2009
How about....
A make up game in Arlington to even things up ?
How about Bud?
baggs - May 15, 2009
Is Wrigley North available?
neverAcquiesce - May 15, 2009
At Arlington
It will probably be mostly Cubs fans anyway.
daeviant - May 15, 2009
Yeah, not too many things I hate more than blue fans at a Stros game
baggs - May 15, 2009
Why, yes, yes it is!
Let’s all head up to Milwaukee and play tonight!
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
Amtrak tickets for everyone!
neverAcquiesce - May 15, 2009
So Randy Wells can have a no-hitter?
daeviant - May 15, 2009
Why not?
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
+0 hits
neverAcquiesce - May 15, 2009
I'm sure the Astros
would LOVE that …
Not Bruce Froemming - May 15, 2009
We'll take it.
Word is, Milton Bradley hits quite well there.
daver - May 15, 2009
And Reed Johnson steals grand slams.
neverAcquiesce - May 15, 2009
Milton can't play today, though
Shanghai Badger - May 15, 2009
Right, but he can in the makeup game.
Um, presumably. I guess one bad strike call could change all that, though.
daver - May 15, 2009
All a rainout means for Milton...
… is that he can’t play tomorrow.
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
Argh! Will this suspension EVER get served?
daver - May 15, 2009
Only if it stops raining!
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
Maybe someone here can help:
Man, I miss baseball . . . .
Shanghai Badger - May 15, 2009
We'll be nice . . .
But use the ‘reply’ function! It makes the discussion flow much better.
Shanghai Badger - May 15, 2009
Ah, looks like you got it
Shanghai Badger - May 15, 2009
Yahoo Power Rankings
Why are Milwaukee and Cincy ranked so low despite their records?
daeviant - May 15, 2009
It's probably because of all the technical balks they've acculmulated this season.
santoswoodenlegs - May 15, 2009
Plus, Yahoo! thinks it was idiotic for Macha to try and get Demp suspended, too.
daver - May 15, 2009
Tarp still on the field at 1:00 pm
Itchy - May 15, 2009
I'm surprised...
… there are that many people in the park, given the crappy weather.
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
Even in the bleachers
Itchy - May 15, 2009
Such a terrible sight.
neverAcquiesce - May 15, 2009
I feel sorry for those fans.
Hey, I can’t work my “weather magic” everyday.
daver - May 15, 2009
We need Professor Chaos.
neverAcquiesce - May 15, 2009
How much did Van Kempen Investments pay for their name to be on the tarp?
Maybe Al can get a “BCB” logo put on also.
zevkalman - May 15, 2009

cubswynn - May 15, 2009
I'm guessing...
… that once Tom Ricketts takes over, that Van Kampen ad is history.
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
I never thought about that
that must chafe him every time he sees it
TC Cubby - May 15, 2009
I'd prefer Van Halen.
daver - May 15, 2009
Van Helsing?
lswaidz - May 15, 2009
As long as David Lee Roth is part of that.
and we’re not dealing with Van Hagar, I’m all for it.
Bill Potter - May 15, 2009
I agree.
Even better, build a time machine and bring early 80s VH here.
daver - May 15, 2009
That would be something.
Too bad Wrigley didn’t host concerts back then.

Madison Cub Fan - May 15, 2009
Anything about what?
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
Geovanny Soto
She’s got a limited attention span . . .
Shanghai Badger - May 15, 2009
is it cancelled?
Madison Cub Fan - May 15, 2009
The pre-game show?
Shanghai Badger - May 15, 2009
I take back the nice things I said about you the other day
Madison Cub Fan - May 15, 2009
Did you? I must have missed them.
Shanghai Badger - May 15, 2009
and you claim I'm the one w/ short attention span
Madison Cub Fan - May 15, 2009
When?
Shanghai Badger - May 15, 2009
when do you have a short attention span?
Quite often.
Madison Cub Fan - May 15, 2009
What?
Shanghai Badger - May 15, 2009
Will Lou Skip Wells in the rotation for tomm ?
baggs - May 15, 2009
No, Lou said Wells will start tomorrow.
Marshall will be skipped and pitch out of the bullpen and then I think he said Marshall will start in St. Louis.
cowsarecool220 - May 15, 2009
well
that’s interesting.
drewishdrewid - May 15, 2009
Cubs website has Oswalt vs. Marshall.
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
Looks like they changed it to
Oswalt vs. Wells
cowsarecool220 - May 15, 2009
Interesting.
Al Yellon - May 15, 2009
Looking forward to watching
Fresh Prince of Bel Air
daeviant - May 15, 2009
"What up, d?"
Shanghai Badger - May 15, 2009
I doubt anyone will know but maybe the reason we are trying to get this game
in has something to do with bradley.. DOes anyone know what happenes if we put the game under delay but dont postpone it. I mean this woul dhave to be a served game since he isnt in the lineup correct? Interesting thought.
fischisgod - May 15, 2009
No, it wouldn't have mattered.
Shanghai Badger - May 15, 2009
If the game was started and not completed
I believe Milton would have to sit the remainder of the completed game to finish the suspension.
Bill Potter - May 15, 2009
Correct
Shanghai Badger - May 15, 2009
but he could play tomorrow, correct?
TC Cubby - May 15, 2009
I think he'll have to serve his suspension tomorrow, now that the game has been rescheduled
Since they didn’t start today’s game, the suspension moves to the next game day, which is tomorrow.
Bill Potter - May 15, 2009
Right.
It is a one GAME suspension, not a one DAY suspension.

tootle - May 15, 2009
Ol Pete
There will be so many ejections of Cubs the game will be over in the 4th…
Shanghai Badger - May 15, 2009
be nice.
I would participate…but the Cubs would have to play the game under protest.
santoswoodenlegs - May 15, 2009
