a 20 team keeper league with 30 man rosters. I just added Jeff Weaver as a free agent. I have Bill Bray, Dayan Viciedo, and Brandon Wood on my bench. Believe me, Gooz is not nearly the worst player on my team…
a starter who has an 8.16 ERA thus far. No idea if it’ll be a permanent thing but, I just had to DL Santiago Casilla and he was literally the best option on the FA list….
Every time I'm in Nats stadium (and I'll be there again soon)
No one is watching the game, the kids are in the video arcade, most of the adults are drinking in the bar in the outfield, and only the players know what the score is.
the way that some of you look for a reason to bitch at other posters, simply because they don’t state something the only way you’ll accept as “rooting for the team” ALWAYS confuses the hell out of me.
If I say something negative? Fine, rip me apart, I still won’t care, but I at least get that. Get pissy because I said I hope he does well, as opposed to I know he’ll do well? Yeah that’s nonsensical
you bristle because I don’t say exactly what you want me to say. Gregg has been incredibly up and down this year. It’s not unheard of for him to struggle. Therefore I hope he can do his job.
Were my SP keepers. I had KRod as an RP keeper. The others were drafts or FA / waiver acquisitions. I also have Capps, Ziegler, Gooz, Perry, Casilla, and Braden
That’s the plus-side to these slow starts and decent play – the middle of the order still hasn’t taken off (though Lee looks like he’s turning the corner).
doesn’t call Cub’s games anymore because he “called it like it is” That’s how you’re treated here if you do the same………you’re accused of being anti-Cub.
First or fail?
davidalanu - May 3, 2009
success
MJMars - May 3, 2009
good job!
Allie - May 3, 2009

Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
Guzman flies out...inning over
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
1-2-3 inning, onto the seventh!
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
that picture looks like some major thumb wrestling going on
btwn Gregg and theRiot
LAcarl519 - May 3, 2009
so if Z misses a start
Guzman steps in? I would really like to see him start a game
MJMars - May 3, 2009
Shark
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
hmmmm
I guess that would be fun to see, too.
MJMars - May 3, 2009
or it could be Heilman
there are three guys in the pen who could conceivably take that role
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
or pending the schedule which I dont ahve in front of me
a skipped start and no one needing to step in (off days?)
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
No off days for a week
Z is due to pitch again Friday in Milwaukee.
Not Bruce Froemming - May 3, 2009
Heilman's too valuable in the pen right now
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Gooze isn't a starter anymore
Atkins maybe for teh callup?
Allie - May 3, 2009
that's what I had in mind.
Bill Potter - May 3, 2009
Hopefully its not necessary though
:-)
Allie - May 3, 2009
Heilman sits down, Guzman back out
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
112 pitches for Nolasco now.
Doesn’t have a long future the rest of the game.
zevkalman - May 3, 2009
Emelie, FYI there is a new name to Riot and Font collectively
LSU
Little Sluggers University.
No truth to the rumors Zambrano will have leg shortening surgery to be allowed entry to this exclusive club.
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
when they were hitting back to back in the lineup
I suggested Cajun Alley as their nickname!
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
I still like Keelber Elves
Hilary Lee - May 3, 2009
LOL! LSU... I like
Emelie - May 3, 2009
Maddux in the booth...with Len and Bob
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
yay!
I love that man. He is truly an artist
MJMars - May 3, 2009
Nice quote
Maddux to his son: “Don’t sacrifice stuff for location.”
Bill Potter - May 3, 2009
GREG!
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
I watch quite a bit of baseball, and I have to say
I really think the Cubs have THE hottest fans in the game
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
yep. :-)
zevkalman - May 3, 2009
"start playing again"
hey we are down a pitcher, why not!?!?!
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
Bob & Len are interviewing our future pitching coach
LAcarl519 - May 3, 2009
hah how about Sandberg managing with Maddux pitch coaching
with Henry Blanco as our Bench coach
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
that would be awesome!
MJMars - May 3, 2009
Dare to dream
Hilary Lee - May 3, 2009
I am a life long Cub fan
delusion comes naturally
LAcarl519 - May 3, 2009
LOL
zevkalman - May 3, 2009
+1
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
i like the way you think
Emelie - May 3, 2009
we should only
be so lucky.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Love that fancam. Love me my Maddox too.
Is Doggie Stalker in the booth there with Maddox?
zevkalman - May 3, 2009
she's climbing
up the outside of the booth, trying to get in.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Fly out to Fonzie, 1 down
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Greg on his son throwing the first pitch wide:
“I always tell him, don’t sacrifice stuff for location.”
mistersite - May 3, 2009
4-3, 2 down.....
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Think Gooze has settled in a bit.
Good to see!
Allie - May 3, 2009
Good for my fantasy team!
Hilary Lee - May 3, 2009
you have Angel Guzman on your fantasy team?
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
I am in
a 20 team keeper league with 30 man rosters. I just added Jeff Weaver as a free agent. I have Bill Bray, Dayan Viciedo, and Brandon Wood on my bench. Believe me, Gooz is not nearly the worst player on my team…
Hilary Lee - May 3, 2009
Jeff Weaver?
I didn’t know he was still in MLB.
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
Apparently
He just became a starter for LA
Hilary Lee - May 3, 2009
Angels or Dodgers?
Allie - May 3, 2009
Guess both are hard up for starters due to injuries.
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
he's playing
for BOTH?
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Dodgers
Hilary Lee - May 3, 2009
This is why I think the Dodgers are playing over their head.
They may be good, but not THIS good.
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
How good do you need to be to win that division though?
Allie - May 3, 2009
True
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
my guess
better than the other three
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
He's replacing
a starter who has an 8.16 ERA thus far. No idea if it’ll be a permanent thing but, I just had to DL Santiago Casilla and he was literally the best option on the FA list….
Hilary Lee - May 3, 2009
i could listen to maddux talk all freaking day
he’s one of the smartest baseball men there ever was.
McNallyish - May 3, 2009
+1
Allie - May 3, 2009
If he hadn't gone into baseball
I suspect he would have really become a professor.
Not Bruce Froemming - May 3, 2009
of fart jokes maybe.
He’s silly.
Allie - May 3, 2009
Hopefully, we'll see more of him now that he's retired.
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
Good inning GUZ!!!!!
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Great inning from Guzman
MJMars - May 3, 2009
HOP!
Soriano is taking better and better routes to the ball. He’s visibly improving as a fielder.
And Guzman. WOW. EXCELLENT inning.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Maybe he needs an inning of work before he's laser-focused on
JFCubFan - May 3, 2009
maybe
he did pretty well after those two walks.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Fergie singing TMOTTB, Maddux moving his lips...
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Love those guys. Glad they were Cubbies.
zevkalman - May 3, 2009
good work Guzman, hopefully those walks were a fluke
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
fergie's got some pacing problems
get that man a metronome!
McNallyish - May 3, 2009
didn't he hear that song
practically every day? LOL
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Funny, how looking down at all the fans changes things!
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
Fergie not that bad singing it
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
Fergie kind of hogged the mike there
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
maddux wanted nothing to do with it
Allie - May 3, 2009
Madd sings modestly
Emelie - May 3, 2009
Maddux just flashed this fabulous grin
He’s happy to be at Wrigley you can tell… but he has no desire to sing!
LOL
Allie - May 3, 2009
Thank God he pitched better than he sings
JFCubFan - May 3, 2009
Fergie did a GREAT job. Nice & slow.
…as usual, a complete game.
LAcarl519 - May 3, 2009
twss.
zevkalman - May 3, 2009
Kiko Calero in for the Fish....
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Cmon
Sori. Let’s get some insurance.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
any insurance runs will be brought to you by GEICO
it’s bad I automatically think of that now.
Bill Potter - May 3, 2009
15 minutes of a rally will save you a ballgame.
zevkalman - May 3, 2009
doubtage factor: zero.
Jimmyeatworld - May 3, 2009
ugly
what are you chasing sori?
McNallyish - May 3, 2009
low and away, son
low and away.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
especially when he looked so patient early in the at-bat
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
he is feelign pressure from Theriot
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
Hee! Hee!
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
Thats Fonz
a couple ugly ABs in a row and then he’ll smack a bomb and you’ll forget all about it… :-)
Allie - May 3, 2009
Truely one of the most
head scratching players in all of MLB.
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
Fonzie waves at one....K
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
fergie loves talking
…about fishing.
McNallyish - May 3, 2009
Theriot just got screwed
JFCubFan - May 3, 2009
true
LAcarl519 - May 3, 2009
and then the ump stares Theriot down all the way to the dugout
not a great performance today by this ump
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
Good grief, ask for help, Blue.
Bill Potter - May 3, 2009
Even if you have the call right
take the appeal down the line. Sheesh.
Allie - May 3, 2009
THAT SUCKS, BLUE!
ask the first base ump! Cmon!
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Riot K's on a bad call by plate ump
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
dang. gotta go to store. cat pooped rug.
Cubs for the win! Be good boys and girls
Emelie - May 3, 2009
that's a big cat
if it can poop an entire rug. Is that braided, or persian?
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
shag
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
Not a good visual.
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
pooped a whole rug? Damn.
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
oh that one he appeals to 3rd huh?
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
See
NOW you ask for help. Bullshit.
Allie - May 3, 2009
Calero engendered some pretty ugly swings that inning
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
Keep shutting their bats down
and your bats don’t matter. Just win the game.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
And catch the ball.
That’d help too. :-P
Allie - May 3, 2009
+1
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
Marmol in
gulp
MJMars - May 3, 2009
Marmol in
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
and immediately runs it 3-0
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
way to stay positive for an inning
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
how is that either positive or negative
I said he’s in, and he went 3-0. Neither of those things are anything other than fact
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
some of you people are so over sensitive it's hilarious
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
Relax Mr Sensitivity
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
you are so right......childish behavior abounds here
Clutche - May 3, 2009
well
technically, you’re right, but…
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009

Cubsfanatic - May 3, 2009
yikes...
Baker HR
northernsails - May 3, 2009
and it's gone.
HR Baker. 6-4 Cubs. Throw it back!
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
He did immediately...
…something that would get you tossed in Nats Park.
Chris Dobbertean - May 3, 2009
really?
throwing the ball back onto the field gets you thrown out?
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Yes...
At least when players are running the bases. It happened at one game last year and the whole stadium booed when security escorted the guy out.
Chris Dobbertean - May 3, 2009
wow.
that sucks.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Yet another example...
of the Lerners sucking, which is probably why Bud sold them the franchise.
Chris Dobbertean - May 3, 2009
And they wonder why no one comes to the games.
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
Every time I'm in Nats stadium (and I'll be there again soon)
No one is watching the game, the kids are in the video arcade, most of the adults are drinking in the bar in the outfield, and only the players know what the score is.
zevkalman - May 3, 2009
I don't think I'd watch the Nats play either, they're that bad.
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
Especially at the prices they charge for tickets.
Chris Dobbertean - May 3, 2009
yuck, 6-4 now
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
wow what? Vague post of the year!
tapdeer - May 3, 2009
Can we bring Gooz back out?
Hilary Lee - May 3, 2009
Cmon Carlos
shut ’em down, now.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
lol
Reed's Johnson - May 3, 2009
Yikes
Seattle Cubs Fan - May 3, 2009
There's a strike.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Doesn't get any easier, Carlos.....get these guys
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
1-2 on HanRam
MJMars - May 3, 2009
Plesac did a good job of breaking down
Marmol on the MLB Network.
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
and he said........?
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
what was he saying?
MJMars - May 3, 2009
He was talking about his outing on Friday.
Marmol walked the first 2 batters, then got the next 3 out.
Even though he got the 3 outs, he was still missing his location.
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
Hope the bullpen doesn't piss this win for Z away
JFCubFan - May 3, 2009
Now the ump checks down to first......frack
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Sure, now everything gets appealed.
Bill Potter - May 3, 2009
technically, Riot's bitching worked then.
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
unfortunately, yes it did.
Bill Potter - May 3, 2009
huh
check swing. Just like Ryan Theriot.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Marmol
walks Ramirez.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
damnit Carlos
MJMars - May 3, 2009
Walk to Ramirez....Ugh.
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
meh, this bullpen is just so frigging frustrating..
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
Ouch.....Cub killer coming up
Clutche - May 3, 2009
that great bullpen you werent worried about going to when zambrano pulls a hammy bunting for a basehit
Reed's Johnson - May 3, 2009
they're fine.
quit your bitching.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
you again! ughhh
Cubsfanatic - May 3, 2009
Funny, how he popped up again when Marmol got into a jam?
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
sorry, happen to disagree with you in most cases
Reed's Johnson - May 3, 2009
RJ,
like I said, I love your name. But your posts are another thing.
Not Bruce Froemming - May 3, 2009
Not getting any of the close calls. This home plate ump is annoying me.
zevkalman - May 3, 2009
Not that close
You gotta throw strikes to get the “close” calls.
Canadian Cubs Fan - May 3, 2009
it's a very tight
strikezone.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Let's get 2.....
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
He should have had another day off.
Heilman was getting ready earlier and he has looked great lately
louslovechild - May 3, 2009
Lou still
relys on his workhorses.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
if "lately" you mean "yesterday", yes
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Yeah, he didn't
look so great Thursday night.
Not Bruce Froemming - May 3, 2009
I still think
that was because he was up and down and up and down.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
too easy.....
zevkalman - May 3, 2009
I think you're right
Up-down, up-down not so good. Particularly in a game the Cubs should have won in the ninth, anyway.
Not Bruce Froemming - May 3, 2009
I agree.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
0-2 on Cantu.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
lots of appeals!
Cubsfanatic - May 3, 2009
OH, COME ON, BLUE!
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Hell, another appeal?
Is this guy trying out for the soon to be open Supreme Court slot?
Chris Dobbertean - May 3, 2009
K! one down
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Looking like the usual Marmol again
struggles when he enters, but is able to pull himself together
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
at least I have a feeling he's pulling himself together
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
STRIKE THREE!
Canut “Cub Killer” goes down swinging.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Cantu even!
Cubsfanatic - May 3, 2009
Can Canute Cantu? No, Canute Cantu Can't!
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Canut / Cantu
same difference, right?
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
Whew dodged a bullet
Clutche - May 3, 2009
there you go marmol
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
Double play ball would be nice....
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Amen
Chris Dobbertean - May 3, 2009
Pitcher's best friend!
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
well
at least that was called a strike.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Uggla pops out...2 down
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Uggla pops out
to Fontenot! 2 down!
northernsails - May 3, 2009
funny
my kid just said “Hey! he didn’t catch with both hands!”
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Uggla pops it up
whew. Nice out in foul territory. Two outs.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
2 down, come babe..
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
what on earth
Cubsfanatic - May 3, 2009
...
Dude! Too easy!
northernsails - May 3, 2009
look down
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
TWSS?
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
set up?
Clutche - May 3, 2009
like DLee with the bases loaded
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
glad to see Lee come through with men on base.............
it hasn’t happened too much this year
Clutche - May 3, 2009
naah, its something my baseball coach use to always say
he didn’t know an “on” was in the phrase..
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
nice gas
96 to Hermida. Lots of movement too
northernsails - May 3, 2009
Strike 3!!!!
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
GOT HIM!!!!!!
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
SWING AND A MISS!
Three outs!
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Steek!
Hermida k’s on a vintage 2008 slider
northernsails - May 3, 2009
Good inning to get Marmol back on track!
zevkalman - May 3, 2009
Ugly but they only got one
Clutche - May 3, 2009
Sean Marshall
is unravelling a baseball.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
He broke it and now wants to see what's inside?
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
Bob says
he wants to get to the chewy chocolate center.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
there is a Moses Malone doll in the middle?
LAcarl519 - May 3, 2009
I guess...
he’s trying to look intimidating in his own way?
northernsails - May 3, 2009
Maybe he's going to knit something?
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
at least he didnt blow it up
for publicity
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
Ooo!
I would like a woolen sweater for Early April night games and (hopefully) late October games period.
northernsails - May 3, 2009
Can you just see Marshall sitting in the dugout knitting?
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
actually
yes.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
It's his new hobby
right along with darning socks
northernsails - May 3, 2009
Better than
Sean Marshall unraveling because of baseball.
Bill Potter - May 3, 2009
+1
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
Like Rich Hill...
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Hill?
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
Good
He can tell us, once and for all, if the ball is juiced.
Chris Dobbertean - May 3, 2009
HA!
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
Gregg is up
in the pen.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
gonna be an interesting 9th
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
He'll face
Cody Ross, Ross Gload and a pinch hitter.
Bill Potter - May 3, 2009
hopefully he'll be able to handle their bottom of the order
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
hopefully?
o.0
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
give up drew
he is a negative nancy about everything it seems
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
only on this board can HOPING someone does a good job
be construed as negative
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
the tone is negative too often from you tho
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
you project a tone
not my fault
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
again childish behavior...........
ignore them
Clutche - May 3, 2009
how about
you expect your closer to, you know, close?
Gregg is NOT a bad pitcher.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Or at least root for a good outcome instead of predicting doom and gloom.
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
how exactly is saying "I hope he can handle the bottom of the order"
predicting doom and gloom? Do some of you have reading comprehension problems?
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
Guess you just don't get it.
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
you're absolutely right
the way that some of you look for a reason to bitch at other posters, simply because they don’t state something the only way you’ll accept as “rooting for the team” ALWAYS confuses the hell out of me.
If I say something negative? Fine, rip me apart, I still won’t care, but I at least get that. Get pissy because I said I hope he does well, as opposed to I know he’ll do well? Yeah that’s nonsensical
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
and by the way, feel free to just ignore my comments if they bother you that much
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
+63
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
he's also not overpowering
you bristle because I don’t say exactly what you want me to say. Gregg has been incredibly up and down this year. It’s not unheard of for him to struggle. Therefore I hope he can do his job.
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
I would hope so.
Getting the first batter would go a long way
Bill Potter - May 3, 2009
Ah Sean Marshall...
Part of my trusty pitching staff of John Danks, Josh Johnson, Nolasco, Lohse, Moyer, Shairon Martis, and now Jeff Weaver…
Hilary Lee - May 3, 2009
um...
I seeeee…
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
I know it kind of
drops off a cliff doesn’t it?
Hilary Lee - May 3, 2009
just a tad.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
You've got some decent talent there
even in a 20 team league, you say?
northernsails - May 3, 2009
20 team
30 man rosters, yes
Hilary Lee - May 3, 2009
I don't like leagues with so many teams.
I think 12 is the right number of teams.
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
It definitely makes it more interesting
I don’t think I have any other league where I’m actually happy owning minor leaguers
Hilary Lee - May 3, 2009
other leagues?
how do you keep track?
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
I'm in 4 other leagues
1 other H2H league (the big one is H2H) and 3 roto leagues.
Hilary Lee - May 3, 2009
And
I really only hardcore pay attention to 3 of the leagues, the other two are pretty small (8 teams) and on auto-pilot.
Hilary Lee - May 3, 2009
Yeah, Johnson, Danks and Nolasco...
are pretty solid for you. Marshall too. After that, meh, you take what you get.
northernsails - May 3, 2009
Danks and Nolasco
Were my SP keepers. I had KRod as an RP keeper. The others were drafts or FA / waiver acquisitions. I also have Capps, Ziegler, Gooz, Perry, Casilla, and Braden
Hilary Lee - May 3, 2009
Love to see MB
take one deep
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
or not
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Nope
just a bunch of boos from the crowd
JFCubFan - May 3, 2009
Milton
swings right throught it. Ouch.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Pitching change
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Milton Bradley K's and I think I heard a smattering of boos.
2009: 40 AB, with a BA: .116
zevkalman - May 3, 2009
he'll get better.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
with an OBP above 300 still
that is the part people leave out while bashing MB
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
Something tells me,
some pitcher’s gonna pay when Milton gets hot, hopefully soon.
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
agreed!
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
he's got no where else to go.
That’s the plus-side to these slow starts and decent play – the middle of the order still hasn’t taken off (though Lee looks like he’s turning the corner).
Bill Potter - May 3, 2009
Soto
is improving too. No way Milton Bradley hits .116 for the season.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
I will walk to Chicago
If Bradley hits .116 for the season (*unless he gets hurt tomorrow, knock on wood)
Bill Potter - May 3, 2009
Do you live in Wilmette? :-)
zevkalman - May 3, 2009
Niles :=)
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
Nope.
a little further than Wilmette.
Bill Potter - May 3, 2009
Lindstrom pitching
to Fonty.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Lindstrom
100 on the gun
MJMars - May 3, 2009
a WHIP of about 2
LAcarl519 - May 3, 2009
Fonty with the IF single
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
the Font with a single!
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
Honestly, what is wrong with GB?
Does anyone know? He cant seem to make contact half the time. I thought he was an on base machine of sorts.
louslovechild - May 3, 2009
just off to a slow start
and he may be pressing a bit at this point. He’ll come around.
Bill Potter - May 3, 2009
He seems to be pressing,
which is common among players when they join a new team. He’ll come around.
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
I'm fairly certain that by admitting that Bradley's play hasn't been perfect, you're rooting against him
just using your logic
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
Infield hit!
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Fonty steals!
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Fonty steals 2nd
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Font-not swipes one
northernsails - May 3, 2009
so let me get this straight
Font is stealing bases and playing scrappy
Riot is hitting homers
did someone switch their bodies?
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
*cough*3rd inning!*cough*
northernsails - May 3, 2009
Aliens again, huh?
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
pod-people
northernsails - May 3, 2009
Sotooooo...
warning track power
northernsails - May 3, 2009
So close...
Chris Dobbertean - May 3, 2009
awwwwwwwwwww...Geo just misses one
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
SOTO
OOOOH…. caught right on the warning track. Wow.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
DAMNIT!
Soto yet again has warning track power…
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
Again!
I thought that one was gone too!!
Allie - May 3, 2009
So close yet so far
one of these days GS will break through
JFCubFan - May 3, 2009
as will Bradley
LAcarl519 - May 3, 2009
Dear Kevin Gregg....
a 1-2-3 inning would be nice on my heart. Just sayin’
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
your heart
I am worried about Lou having a nervous breakdown this season
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
I hear ya...
…and it’s still early. LOL.
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
stop being so negative!
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
fail
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
weak
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Gathright in center
Fuku in right
northernsails - May 3, 2009
Joey G in at CF, Kosuke to RF
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Is Lou finally learning how to use his defense?
Gathwright in CF and Dome over to right? Again?
Allie - May 3, 2009
I'm calling Gathright "cable" from now on
northernsails - May 3, 2009
cable?
Allie - May 3, 2009
car-jumper
northernsails - May 3, 2009
Oh...I was ready to make a Comcrap comment.
Chris Dobbertean - May 3, 2009
iiiit's Commmcraptic!
northernsails - May 3, 2009
what does that have to do with cable?
Allie - May 3, 2009
what do you normally jump dead car batteries with?
northernsails - May 3, 2009
wow
i was really not going there at all
Allie - May 3, 2009
Jumper cables are used to jump car batteries
and that’s all they’re good for.
Hence jumping cars is all Gathright is good for.
northernsails - May 3, 2009
Got it.
I was just not being that literal at all. :-P
Allie - May 3, 2009
.me shrugs
I dont have to be mystical or funny all the time :)
northernsails - May 3, 2009
another car
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
Ah yes...
The old “telepathic battery jump” trick…
Chris Dobbertean - May 3, 2009
jeez
Make me start missing Don Adams again, why dontcha
northernsails - May 3, 2009
until proven otherwise, he is Gathwrong to me
LAcarl519 - May 3, 2009
eh, what is Marshall trying to prove?
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
he's bored?
Allie - May 3, 2009
Maddux would have been studying the hitters on the other team.
zevkalman - May 3, 2009
And if Marshall gets a start...
In Davie later this year, he’ll have wished he’d done that.
Chris Dobbertean - May 3, 2009
actually kind of makes me wanna rip open a baseball
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
did they show the inside of the red rubber ball?
I’ve never cut one of those open!
Allie - May 3, 2009
You dont want to know.
The inside of that is a doorway to a parallel universe.
northernsails - May 3, 2009
I think its worth it
May need to get a hold of a baseball…
Allie - May 3, 2009
Nadia
Cubbie-Tim - May 3, 2009
it's possible
he was doing both.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
That was a strike....dammit ump
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
FWIW, Gameday had it just off the corner
Bill Potter - May 3, 2009
Nice play, Aaron Miles!!!! 1 down
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
good play by Miles
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
Aaron Miles - nice defense.
Bill Potter - May 3, 2009
Good looking play by Miles
Derosa… who?
JFCubFan - May 3, 2009
Miles' goatee looks different...
Allie - May 3, 2009
goatees are SO ten years ago....
CaliCub - May 3, 2009
Riot would've double clutched
northernsails - May 3, 2009
and still got him
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
from 2b maybe
not from the hole in SS.
Allie - May 3, 2009
we'll never know
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
pity I won't be able to bring out my Bill Murray pic for this series...
I need to soon…
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
3 outta 4 ain't bad
hard to sweep a 4 gamer… unless we’re in Mil.
Allie - May 3, 2009
Looks like Gregg
is doing perfectly fine.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Gah!
Knock on wood!
northernsails - May 3, 2009
much as I hoped he would
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
bo - you are only allowed to drink cool aide here
Reed's Johnson - May 3, 2009
Fell free to leave.
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
nope here all season deal with it - was here ly too and the year before
Reed's Johnson - May 3, 2009
poor baby...
Cubs winning ruining your day?
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
i love the cubs.. i find it a tad rediculous that you say anything critical of the cubs and you get hated on
Reed's Johnson - May 3, 2009
you can be critical
without being a jerk.
Well. In theory anyway. Care to ever put it in practice?
Allie - May 3, 2009
that calling z's play a bone head play that can cost us a game or games is being a jerk?
Reed's Johnson - May 3, 2009
the followup comment about the bullpen was...
drink the koolaid brother! It’s not all doom and gloom.
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
drewishid said there is nothing wrong with the pen
which if you have watched this season… a rational person would disagree
my point is valid – Z’s getting hurt, gets us to the pen faster, which puts wins in jeopardy and thus our division, and playoff chances
Reed's Johnson - May 3, 2009
Steve Stone.............
doesn’t call Cub’s games anymore because he “called it like it is” That’s how you’re treated here if you do the same………you’re accused of being anti-Cub.
Clutche - May 3, 2009
agreed, rather put head in sand and wait til next year
Reed's Johnson - May 3, 2009
the pen is fine.
they’re not great, but they’re working out the kinks. They did FINE today, and you know it.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
today's win
was never in jeapordy.
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Alec Trebeck missed a question?
Emelie - May 3, 2009
Rooting against the Cubs on a Cub site isn't the best way to make friends.
cowsarecool220 - May 3, 2009
who is rooting against the cubs - please point out the post that does that
Reed's Johnson - May 3, 2009
It's bizarro world in cowsarecool land
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
Popped out to Sori
TWO OUTS!
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Fonzie with the big hop and out...2 down
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Lou looks red-faced and that isn't sunburn
these 3-2 counts eat him up
LAcarl519 - May 3, 2009
gin blossom ftw
Reed's Johnson - May 3, 2009
one more, lets end this
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
Wes Helms to pinch hit
Bill Potter - May 3, 2009
Base hit, Helms
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
basehit

drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009

Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
There goes the perfect save
northernsails - May 3, 2009
Benefacio is trying to bunt?
BoVandy - May 3, 2009
cubs win
MinnesotaFan - May 3, 2009
Fukudome!
Cubs Win!
northernsails - May 3, 2009
Damnit
I guess it ain’t over till the fat lady sings.
JFCubFan - May 3, 2009
I don't know...
…I think Dome looks quite spry out there in RF. He could hardly be described as “fat.” Or, for that matter, a lady.
mistersite - May 3, 2009
or Steve Goodman?
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
Cubs win
LAcarl519 - May 3, 2009
Is the radar broken?
Or has Gregg always thrown in the mid 90s?
Allie - May 3, 2009
GREAT CATCH!
CaliCub - May 3, 2009
DIVING CATCH DOME!
CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN!!!!!
Nice work by the bullpen today!
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
DOME!

mistersite - May 3, 2009
Now that's a way to end it!
Bill Potter - May 3, 2009
Kosuke FTW!!
CUBS WIN!! Time to sing!
Chris Dobbertean - May 3, 2009
Kosuke with the catch!!!! Cubs win!!!
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009

BoVandy - May 3, 2009
Dome saves Gregg and saves the day for Maddox and Fergie!
zevkalman - May 3, 2009
KOSUKE!
TWO GREAT CATCHES!
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
LOL
Miles/Fontenot/Theriot all look like 8 year olds next to Derrek.
Allie - May 3, 2009
Derrek Lee has
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
CaliCub - May 3, 2009
Three in a row!
drewishdrewid - May 3, 2009
Cubs win after committing an error. That streak ends.
LAcarl519 - May 3, 2009
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Theres my guy!!
Allie - May 3, 2009
They should retire Milton's number!
CaliCub - May 3, 2009
yeah
but for someone else though..
Chanman25 - May 3, 2009
3 in a row! Great game, Cubbies.
See ya all later!
carmen_fanzone - May 3, 2009
Good game Cubs
lets keep this streak rollin.
