Let’s see that stupid worthless overpaid Dempster pitches 7 shut out innings. D-Lee, Soto, the ragin cajuns , Bradley etc all contribute. Who can he bitch about ?
Great, great start by Dempster today. And the Cubs had hits with RISP. My uncle is coming to Chicago, and he’s a Dodgers fan (the Cubs are his #2 team).

CubsWin!Oregon - May 30, 2009
Speaking of which...
…how do they score a ball that’s headed out but hits a seagull and falls into play?
Ground rule double?
mistersite - May 30, 2009
It would be a live ball if it lands in fair terriotory.
lswaidz - May 30, 2009
It's still a live ball at that point
Clutch16 - May 30, 2009
I believe it would be a ground rule double if
by some odd act of physics it bounced off the top of a seagull and went into the stands…
lswaidz - May 30, 2009
What if a bird
caught the ball in the air and then flew out of the park?
Would it depend on whether it flew between the foul poles or not?

Yes, but...
The ball was acted upon by a player… a bird is not a player… I’m actually not to sure about this one, but I think is most domed stadiums a ball that strikes the roof and leaves the field of play in fair territory is ruled a ground rule double, so I’d imagine similar rules would apply here.

Or maybe he's number 9 on the bench
gaclaudy - May 30, 2009
Definitely fully Kreusened
Craig in South Bend - May 30, 2009
Err, definitely NOT full Kreusened
Craig in South Bend - May 30, 2009
born and raised in south bend craig?
davidalanu - May 30, 2009
Yep
I’ve somehow mastered the St. Joe county hat trick, living in Mishawaka, South Bend, and Granger at various points of my life.
Craig in South Bend - May 30, 2009
lol. high school?
davidalanu - May 30, 2009
Nah, just where I've bought or rented
Craig in South Bend - May 30, 2009
Well, high school too, but that was awhile ago
Craig in South Bend - May 30, 2009
which one?
davidalanu - May 30, 2009
elkhart?
brian custer - May 30, 2009
Hudson
2-0
drewishdrewid - May 30, 2009
Boy I should stay out of the game threads
more often. We do better.
eswan9 - May 30, 2009
how much better than 7-0
do you want?
Allie - May 30, 2009
No I am happy
just don’t want to jink it.
eswan9 - May 30, 2009
Man....
eswan9 - May 30, 2009
I think maybe...
.. you should leave again… lol
CubFanInCanberra (9387milesfromWrigley) - May 30, 2009
Sniff...I know when I'm not wanted...
eswan9 - May 30, 2009
AHHHHH
Basehit and a walk? Get out, get out :-P
chitownhawkeye - May 30, 2009
3-0
Heilman isn’t getting it.
drewishdrewid - May 30, 2009
so whats new on that
MinnesotaFan - May 30, 2009
That looked like a strike there.
Vermont Cubs Fan - May 30, 2009
A couple borderline balls there
lswaidz - May 30, 2009
gameday
had them all as balls
CubFanInCanberra (9387milesfromWrigley) - May 30, 2009
I really wish Waddell or Patten was in
This is exactly where Heilman sucks
Doggie Stalker - May 30, 2009
When he's
.. on the mound?
CubFanInCanberra (9387milesfromWrigley) - May 30, 2009
That was a friggen great pitch...
How it wasn’t a strike I don’t know.
CubsWin!Oregon - May 30, 2009
The last two were close.
Vermont Cubs Fan - May 30, 2009
Hudson
walks.
Max throws more strikes than this.
drewishdrewid - May 30, 2009
Do you take Heilman out now?
Vermont Cubs Fan - May 30, 2009
no
let them score at least one run first.
drewishdrewid - May 30, 2009
Yes
But I don’t put Marmol in, no need to wear him out here.
lswaidz - May 30, 2009
Not quite
but his leash is down to 1 batter
chitownhawkeye - May 30, 2009
Marmol? MARMOL in the pen?
Come ON. Seven run lead. Put Patton in!
drewishdrewid - May 30, 2009
Watch this year as Lou pitchs Marmol till his arm falls off
gaclaudy - May 30, 2009
He's gonna pull a "Dusty" on him
lswaidz - May 30, 2009
Wasn't it Chad Fox
That actual throw a pitch and his arm broke? I can see it now, Marmol throws a 95 MPH heater and the arms is still attached to the ball
gaclaudy - May 30, 2009
I'm not worried about that.
but there’s at least a coupla other guys to put in before Marmol.
drewishdrewid - May 30, 2009
Waddell and Patton spring to mind
Clutch16 - May 30, 2009
Probably b/c Marmol gets loose fastest
Allie - May 30, 2009
Larry's on the phone.
sue369 - May 30, 2009
Bedcrapping 101
CaliCub - May 30, 2009
You are PATHETIC Heilman!
calicubfan - May 30, 2009
Maybe
this is a sign guys named Aaron shouldn’t be Cubs.
Allie - May 30, 2009
Loney
to the plate. Two on, no outs.
drewishdrewid - May 30, 2009
A strike!
the crowd cheers
drewishdrewid - May 30, 2009
Fans are Wrigley are the best
Where else in baseball do you get 40,000 on their feet in the first inning, and wild cheers for strike 1 in the ninth?
lswaidz - May 30, 2009
2-1 on Loney.
drewishdrewid - May 30, 2009
7-0
and marmol is being warmed….
when we discuss overuse of marmol these are the types of situations we cite
DartmouthCubsFan - May 30, 2009
+100000000000000000000000000000000
TheTruth11 - May 30, 2009

drewishdrewid - May 30, 2009

Vermont Cubs Fan - May 30, 2009
Does Heilman have the high stirrups again?
AzCubfan24 - May 30, 2009
yep
Allie - May 30, 2009
damn, I thought that was his key to success last time, guess not.
AzCubfan24 - May 30, 2009
is anyone else yelling at the tv
that there are other guys in pen left OTHER than marmol?
TheTruth11 - May 30, 2009
I am, but it doesnt make as much sense when its the braves and dbacks.
AzCubfan24 - May 30, 2009
Haha.
That mental image made me laugh.
CubsWin!Oregon - May 30, 2009
i'd be yelling at the wrong game...
MinnesotaFan - May 30, 2009
doesn't matter!
drewishdrewid - May 30, 2009
Nope
But if your TV starts yelling back, run
lswaidz - May 30, 2009
3-2
on Loney
drewishdrewid - May 30, 2009
the only time all day
the Dodger have had two runners.
GIDP! Runner to third, two outs!
drewishdrewid - May 30, 2009

lswaidz - May 30, 2009
WHEW
Emelie - May 30, 2009
And here I was just thinking "We really need a double play here."
Vermont Cubs Fan - May 30, 2009
Heilman
is so bad he make me long for Michael Wuertz
jaxinnabox - May 30, 2009

wish marmol hadn’t needed to warm up though.
Allie - May 30, 2009
Ethier the batter
Strike ONE!
drewishdrewid - May 30, 2009
Sit on down Marmol
Heilman just wants to make it exciting at the end
gaclaudy - May 30, 2009
ZOMG BACK TO BACK FIRST PITCH STRIKES!
lswaidz - May 30, 2009
How many double plays have we turned today?
Vermont Cubs Fan - May 30, 2009

drewishdrewid - May 30, 2009

lswaidz - May 30, 2009

calicubfan - May 30, 2009
2-2

drewishdrewid - May 30, 2009
Oh god, not an "It's Gonna Happen" sign
