Today marks the beginning of the Cubs' first interleague series. Since the Central Division teams in each league will be playing each other, there will be opportunities for the Cubs and White Sox to help each other out by defeating the opponents in the other's division. Will you be rooting for the Sox?

Nope.
My three favorite teams:
1. the Cubs
2. whoever is playing the White Sox
3. whoever is playing the Yankees

You sound like the stereotypical Sox fan.
They should rework that Southside Irish song for you and for some of the other Sox haters here.
DrCrawdad - June 12, 2009
This always blows my mind...
I could really careless about the Sox. We play them 6 times a year, and i hope we win all six, but after that i could careless what they do. The hatred is silly.
I will say this, while obviously the Cubs are my only team, i do enjoy watching the Rays play baseball, i dont know why but i do.
HIGGY - June 12, 2009
Well...
… as a Cubs fan, you should care what the Sox do this weekend. I want them to win all three games they play in Milwaukee.
Al Yellon - June 12, 2009
Right -
But my point was i dont watch the ticker hoping they lose if you know what i mean. But you are right this year seeing that they could help us greatly, i hope they do win.
HIGGY - June 12, 2009
Exactly
I watch the Sox as I do any other AL team, with a moderate interest which first in foremost is a baseball interest. Win or Lose I really don’t care – except for this weekend, WIN BABY WIN!
StevenABQ - June 12, 2009
says the Sox fan trolling the Cubs board.
That being said, I hope the White Sox beat the crap out of the Brewers, they can then return to their previously programmed suckitude.
drewishdrewid - June 12, 2009
GO CUBBIES!
DrCrawdad - June 12, 2009
Respectfully...
… you’re wrong, at least for the next three days.
I hope the Sox sweep the Brewers.
Al Yellon - June 12, 2009
+1
I’d like to see Gavin Floyd strike out Cheeseburger with every nasty breaking ball he can throw.
StevenABQ - June 12, 2009
Fielder just went on the DL with a hammy pull
Madison Cub Fan - June 12, 2009
Seriously?
Al Yellon - June 12, 2009
lemme look for sure I thought thats what I just read
Madison Cub Fan - June 12, 2009
Where?
Got a link?
Al Yellon - June 12, 2009
I'm not sure this is accurate.
I read the Milwaukee Paper this morning and watched the morning news and there wasn’t any news of Prince being hurt anywhere.
Fishbone2 - June 12, 2009
Maybe he was at the DQ trying to order a pulled pork sandwich
Shanghai Badger - June 12, 2009
Now this I could see...
You might be onto something there.
Fishbone2 - June 12, 2009
Oops
I just clicked back and it wasn’t Fielder who went DL. Sorry
Madison Cub Fan - June 12, 2009
Some other Brewer?
Al Yellon - June 12, 2009
I see no
Brewer of significance headed to the DL. I am not finding anything.
HIGGY - June 12, 2009
Nope it was an article talking about all the hamstring injuries this year
Im sorry for misinformation.
Madison Cub Fan - June 12, 2009
and I promise next time to post a link
before anyone gets too excited
Madison Cub Fan - June 12, 2009
Butterfly Effect?
n/t
StevenABQ - June 12, 2009
Police say he is not a suspect.
Just a Brewer of significance.
daver - June 12, 2009
Retro-injuries!
Remember when Molitor pulled a hammy on a HR trot?
Shanghai Badger - June 12, 2009
Yes I do
MUSCLE PULL PUTS MOLITOR ON DISABLED LIST
Pay-Per-View – Chicago Tribune – ProQuest Archiver – May 5, 1987
Molitor, who was batting .395, had not played since being hobbled by the hamstring injury when he hit a home run Wednesday night at Oakland.
Madison Cub Fan - June 12, 2009
Agreed. I just don't get that thought process
I’m a Cubs fan; I want the Cubs to finish first. The White Sox losing does nothing for my self-esteem, and this weekend, it would hurt the Cubs.
Shanghai Badger - June 12, 2009
I'm singing, "GO CUBS GO! GO CUBS GO!"
… on June 12-14, 19-21 & 23-25.
DrCrawdad - June 12, 2009
That's the right attitude for a Cub OR Sox fan!
You want the teams in your own division to lose. If the Cubs can sweep the Twins and the Sox sweep the Brewers, the Cubs will be ahead of Milwaukee by Sunday night. I’m all for that.
Al Yellon - June 12, 2009
I agree totally.
I hope the Sox has the best series of the year this weekend.
(It won’t hurt eithe b/c Im heading to my parents and my brother-in-law is a Brewer fan)
Madison Cub Fan - June 12, 2009
Can I quote you?
I’m all about the Sox dominating the Brew Crew this weekend. Go Sox (until they come to the North Side)!
Clutch16 - June 12, 2009
Hmm. Maybe it's time for a new signature line.
Shanghai Badger - June 12, 2009
Done, and done.
:)
Shanghai Badger - June 12, 2009
rofl!
+1!
drewishdrewid - June 12, 2009
Go SOX!!!
Put it aside… We can have fun rooting against each other again next week.
Fishbone2 - June 12, 2009
Seeing as though the Sox can help the Cubs
and they arent in the same league, I want the Sox to win (besides when they play the Cubs of course) the interleague games.
How on earth would you want the Brewers to win over the Sox? If you do, its time to get your priorities straight. Besides, no matter if the Sox win or lose you are still going to get those Sox fans that spend the majority of their time ripping on the Cubs. At least if the Sox win against the Brewers you can say thank you to those fans for the help!
AndHart120 - June 12, 2009
Meanwhile...
… any Sox fan who doesn’t root for the Cubs to beat the Twins this weekend is, in my opinion, not really a fan of his or her own team. Why wouldn’t you want your divisional rival to lose?
Al Yellon - June 12, 2009
Interleague intrigue
There has been quite a lot of talk from Cubs fans about how bad the AL Central is this year. It will be interesting to see how the Cubs do against the AL Central and how the NL Central does as well.
DrCrawdad - June 12, 2009
At the end of the day...
…the White Sox are just another AL team. The only time I root against them is when they’re playing the Cubs or, occasionally, when a Sox fan (or a member of the Sox organization) goes out of his or her way to disrespect my team. Otherwise, I kind of loosely follow their ups and downs with a certain degree of interest but little emotion.
I absolutely want the White Sox to pound the Brew Crew this weekend and prolong their four-game losing streak. And, obviously, I’d be more than happy if my Cubs could do the Sox a favor and take apart the Twins.
daver - June 12, 2009
Rec'd
Exactly.
Go Sox!
Allie - June 12, 2009
Let me turn that green for ya
Clutch16 - June 12, 2009
Why thank ya.
daver - June 12, 2009

Madison Cub Fan - June 12, 2009
My favorite AL team and my favorite team in the whole-wide world going today. And my two least favorite teams facing off, too. I love it.

dtpollitt - June 12, 2009
I am hoping that...
This weekend with the Twins in town, Jim Hendry can sell the Twins on a trade that goes like this:
Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, and Joe Nathan for Aaron Miles and Kevin Gregg.
What? A guy can dream cant he?
