guy is a professional. Gets thrown from starter to reliever every year and just does his job. Not flashy. The opposite of a few guys we have on this team
Cubs hit two bombs.
Milton had a fit, went all “Michael Jackson” on the gatorade cooler, was sent home by Uncle Lou.
Soriano’s outstanding defense costs the Cubs at least one and maybe two runs but is still the best LF in the NL
Marmol imploded again.
And you are up to date.
I’ll feed you some irish truffles now. Though the girlfriend might not like that. (For the record, she’s a NYY fan who I’m converting to wearing cubbie blue… and is going to 6 july game at wrigley)
BTW – even though I have mlb.tv premium, I love how I can finally get the game on my ipod with the new at bat update fixing the location problems.
Bradley’s downside was well-known,
it was another Hendry blue-light special.
Ibanez could hit .400 the next three years – Hendry will still feel he was too old to sign.
Dunn will still be seen as too expensive.
Hendry fell for the usual "lightning in a bottle " con with Milton – he’s younger, and the Cubs can fix what’s wrong. With a good environment and the respect of a big paycheck, he’ll be the steal of the offseason!
We seriously need to avoid any more “Hendry guy” acquisition via Free Agency.
we just have to execute and uh, we’re not. Bradley is having some problems and uh, I had a talk with him, and we just have to execute. What do you want me to do?"
You may know more about baseball than someone else. Congrats for you, here’s a cookie. Don’t go expecting everyone else to know as much, and then talk down to them if they don’t.
Piniella will give his side of the story in his postgame interview session, which will be broadcast live on Comcast Sports Net following Ozzie Guillen’s press conference.
but sadly it is outweighed by his nasty side. I just can’t ever forgive him for destroying a rookie pitcher on national TV by screaming at him till he cried because he was unable to HIT a batter as Ozzie had asked him to. However I do really enjoy him and baseball could use some more honest guys like him.
How many batters does Marmol have to walk for Lou to stop putting him in the 8th ? What I really don’t get is that Lou has ALWAYS hated pitchers who walk guys but he apparently has too much invested in Marmol to face reality.
Lets Finish it!!

Cubs hit ball long way, Marmol
Cubs hit two bombs.
Milton had a fit, went all “Michael Jackson” on the gatorade cooler, was sent home by Uncle Lou.
Soriano’s outstanding defense costs the Cubs at least one and maybe two runs but is still the best LF in the NL
Marmol imploded again.
And you are up to date.

you forgot Soto's HR! Forfend!

AndHart120 - June 26, 2009
Let's face it
Dunn would be hitting .230 too if he was a Cub. It’s our curse.
Pre - June 26, 2009
but he would have like 20 HRS and 50 RBIS
lexmarklover - June 26, 2009
plus he would be hitting in Wrigley
where he crushes the ball
heine41 - June 26, 2009
Untrue.

Allie - June 26, 2009
Maybe you should learn a thing or two about baseball if you don't know who these guys are.
TimG58 - June 26, 2009
That's uncalled for
Craig in South Bend - June 26, 2009
It's true.
TimG58 - June 26, 2009
putting pictures up of FOX's broadcasting team doesn't qualify knowing about baseball in my book
Plus Allie could own you
heine41 - June 26, 2009
You're missing the point
You may know more about baseball than someone else. Congrats for you, here’s a cookie. Don’t go expecting everyone else to know as much, and then talk down to them if they don’t.

Pictures with no connection to the Cubs/current game/inside joke = double annoying.

Hawk still whining about calls
LT - June 26, 2009

DC Cubbie - June 26, 2009
Figures the ump would call strike three
just when they were about to hit a two-run homer. Dadgum it!
Goodie1969 - June 26, 2009
LOL, so the Sox post game show...
is basically Hawk and Stoney bitching about the ump? Good Lord, could that organization get any more pathetic?
kanderber - June 26, 2009
Yep. That's pretty much what it is lol.
CUBSfaninYANKEEcountry - June 26, 2009

pro
I like the fact that he’s so candid.
elgato - June 26, 2009
I always loved him for that
but sadly it is outweighed by his nasty side. I just can’t ever forgive him for destroying a rookie pitcher on national TV by screaming at him till he cried because he was unable to HIT a batter as Ozzie had asked him to. However I do really enjoy him and baseball could use some more honest guys like him.
Here is the classic Onion article on Ozzie
http://www.theonion.com/content/node/51526
Doggie Stalker - June 26, 2009

He is too full of himself and comes off as a jerk

BeerCub - June 26, 2009
so much for that

WGN doesn't show the press conference
they need to get another 11 year old America’s Funniest Home Videos on
DC Cubbie - June 26, 2009
they don't usually show the pressers
its on CSN.
It also might be on the radio.
Allie - June 26, 2009
not on radio due to technical error -- drat
Emelie - June 26, 2009
That is bs. The technical error is they don't want to broadcast the drama.

False.

He is on WGN TV
right now
LT - June 26, 2009

Unbelievable...
Really. Lou says he’s not into discipline… then who the hell will do it?
CubsBullsBears - June 26, 2009
I think that was a misplaced comment
He did send him home — that’s discipline.
elgato - June 26, 2009
+1
heine41 - June 26, 2009
True...
I’m just saying I’d like to see him lay the law down more often.
CubsBullsBears - June 26, 2009
frankly, I think this is a smart move by Lou
He sends Milton a message but couches it by saying he’s tired of the team’s histrionics.
elgato - June 26, 2009
Yes, MB was the scapegoat. Like that was a hard one.
BigJohnAZ - June 26, 2009
wasn't the hard one
Because he’s the one who needs to change his ways.
elgato - June 26, 2009
To be fair, a couple of Cubs are getting a wee bit randy with the water cooler after poor performance
BigJohnAZ - June 26, 2009
Marmol smashed the cooler...
In the 8th after the Bradley incident without repercussion. What leads me to believe there was more too it than just that.
CubsBullsBears - June 26, 2009
Who knows what happened...
That was Lou’s explanation, we don’t know what triggered it and why it escalated to what it did.
CubsBullsBears - June 26, 2009
Pretty much lou is saying that hes done with guys throwing tantrums in the dugout
He made an example of Milton
heine41 - June 26, 2009
… lou still has confidence in marmol….
jesus christos - June 26, 2009
Well, there's one...
BigJohnAZ - June 26, 2009
Piniella bringing it!
“It’s been an ongoing thing, and I’ve looked the other way, but I’m done with it!”
Goodie1969 - June 26, 2009
i was wrong about bradley
what a joke so far
lexmarklover - June 26, 2009
I hope Lou said that
DC Cubbie - June 26, 2009
So, essentially, we get..
“You’re a piece of crap, and a poor execuse for a ball player…
…
…
…
Is it ok if you bat 4th tomorrow?”
Craig in South Bend - June 26, 2009
He prolly didn't ask..
“I’m not putting up with you today. BTW, you’re batting 3rd tomorrow.”
Gurbal - June 26, 2009
That's precisely the crux of the problem
Craig in South Bend - June 26, 2009
Good for Lou
Maybe those who say he “has no fire” can get off his back now.
Not Bruce Froemming - June 26, 2009
Lou looks...
Exhausted. Drenched with sweat and tired.
CubsBullsBears - June 26, 2009
BOGUS!!
On WGN “Due to a technical issue, we will not hear from the Cubs manager”. Hmmmm. I smell bullshit.
Ross - June 26, 2009
no they had a problem on CSN's video feed
someone in the back said they had a technical problem
heine41 - June 26, 2009
my thoughts as well!
CubfaninRaleigh(869milestoWrigley) - June 26, 2009
on now
DC Cubbie - June 26, 2009
I'm referring to the radio and the online feed.
Ross - June 26, 2009
i know
on CSN’s video feed, you could hear the WGN guys having the technical issue. there was a loud pop, lou even asked about it
heine41 - June 26, 2009
That was Soto sparking a fresh victory doobie!
BigJohnAZ - June 26, 2009
Hollandsworth looks like hes been hanging with Geo
heine41 - June 26, 2009
Lou on WGN now
Gurbal - June 26, 2009
I love Jake Fox (no homo)! What a keeper!
lexmarklover - June 26, 2009
was that reakky necessary?
Emelie - June 26, 2009
No need to put the parenthetical matter in there
Not that there’s anything wrong with that ….
Not Bruce Froemming - June 26, 2009
As Homer Simpson said referring to a job application
“I’m not gay…but willing to learn.”
BigJohnAZ - June 26, 2009
I never heard him say the he would put MB in the lineup tomorrow
did he really say that?
DC Cubbie - June 26, 2009
yes
elgato - June 26, 2009
yeah
jesus christos - June 26, 2009
Yep.

DC Cubbie - June 26, 2009

elgato - June 26, 2009
That would be me
Took a while for him to wake up , hopefully he will keep it up.
Doggie Stalker - June 26, 2009
Lou says he still has confidence in Marmol...
CUBSfaninYANKEEcountry - June 26, 2009
He also still think Theriot is a SS
Allie - June 26, 2009
bwa haha!
Emelie - June 26, 2009
i still have confidence in marmol
heine41 - June 26, 2009
I defiantly don't.
CUBSfaninYANKEEcountry - June 26, 2009
I don't
Pre - June 26, 2009
Someone needs to photoshop a Marmol "HOPE" poster

Craig in South Bend - June 26, 2009
There's a website for that
Pre - June 26, 2009
http://obamiconme.pastemagazine.com/
Pre - June 26, 2009
I have more fun in doing it myself
Now, using the David Carusso/CSI comic strip and involving Marmol in that, I would definitely use that website for that.
Craig in South Bend - June 26, 2009
They certainly resemble each other
That would be funny.
Not Bruce Froemming - June 26, 2009
I do..
He’ll figure it out if he’s healthy
DisCUBbobulated - June 26, 2009
I think he's healthy
but his mechanics are screwed up.
BigJohnAZ - June 26, 2009
Good point..
Mechanics can get unscrewed up. His pitches are flying all over the place..
DisCUBbobulated - June 26, 2009
He's not landing in the same spot IMO
BigJohnAZ - June 26, 2009
But his mechanics have never been great
Going to be really hard to train those muscles properly now that he’s had success being a mechanical mess.
Allie - June 26, 2009
I agree, but lately you can see him falling off the mound all over the place
BigJohnAZ - June 26, 2009
I think he'll get it back
but I don’t want to see him in the 8th inning for a while.
Allie - June 26, 2009
I hope you're right.
I’m really worried about him.
sue369 - June 26, 2009
He'll be OK
I saw him in Detroit the other night and he was solid in the eighth. He can’t spot his fastball very well right now, that’s the problem.
Not Bruce Froemming - June 26, 2009
Yep. He can't get his slider to start to the right hand batter's box anymore or at least catch some of the plate
BigJohnAZ - June 26, 2009
the kid is a stud
he will be fine…speed-bump
daily2b - June 26, 2009
Jeez
How many batters does Marmol have to walk for Lou to stop putting him in the 8th ? What I really don’t get is that Lou has ALWAYS hated pitchers who walk guys but he apparently has too much invested in Marmol to face reality.
Doggie Stalker - June 26, 2009
Security blanket
Allie - June 26, 2009
hes just struggling
its part of baseball
heine41 - June 26, 2009
so did the Cubs all drive to the game or take a bus
if it was the latter could you imagine MB out there trying to hail a cab? That would be a funny picture
DC Cubbie - June 26, 2009
he was in the players parking so he drove
jesus christos - June 26, 2009
I would think they all drove or carpooled in some fashion
BigJohnAZ - June 26, 2009

Craig in South Bend - June 26, 2009
LOL.
CUBSfaninYANKEEcountry - June 26, 2009
