and when you buy a flat screen TV now, there is a $50 surcharge
for disposing of the old TV whether you are disposing of an old TV or not. Looks like TV sales in LA are about to dry up (so much for the slow economy hurting sales, right)

Wanted to post the one I just did.

sac fly

LINK
Vermont Cubs Fan - July 1, 2009
Why is the freakin' queen on the cover? Can't she leave well enough alone?
zevkalman - July 1, 2009
She's not actually on the covers
Take her image off those postage stamps, and that’s what their covers look like. Much nicer than our books.
I got “Deathly Hallows” in softcover a month after it came out, it was a little hard to track down.
Each book shows, at the back, the covers of all the other “Harry Potter” children’s books in the UK.
Vermont Cubs Fan - July 1, 2009
Oh, I thought they were postage stamps. But I didn't believe it :-)
zevkalman - July 1, 2009
The UK released a set of postage stamps
Bearing the covers of the children’s version HP books from there. It’s the only place where you can see all seven covers at once.
Or I could have posted seven links, one for each book.
Vermont Cubs Fan - July 1, 2009
this is prolly a dumb question but...
is the covers the only difference between US and British versions? i.e. the story/text is the same…
ballhawk - July 1, 2009

LAcarl519 - July 1, 2009
Death Eater = Cardinal fan?
hmmm. Maybe Death Eater = Brewer fan!
drewishdrewid - July 1, 2009
Definitions:
“Death eater”: follower or the chief dark wizard, Voldemort.
“Inferi”: corpse brought back to life to do the bidding of the dark wizard. Inferi are afraid of light, an effective defense.
Vermont Cubs Fan - July 1, 2009
Just read all 7 of them for the first time within a week
Death Eaters are the main bad dude’s army. Inferi are reanimated corpses.

Goodnight everyone, good to see them get a win on the way home.
KaliCub - July 1, 2009
good night!!
from the land of the 9.75% sales tax :-(
LAcarl519 - July 1, 2009
So low!
AndrewJStone - July 1, 2009
and when you buy a flat screen TV now, there is a $50 surcharge
for disposing of the old TV whether you are disposing of an old TV or not. Looks like TV sales in LA are about to dry up (so much for the slow economy hurting sales, right)
LAcarl519 - July 1, 2009
wow, that's utterly ridiculous
WanderingWanderer - July 1, 2009
I was at Costco today picking up a prescription.
the bitching in line was intense
LAcarl519 - July 1, 2009
I was being serious.
12.25% here in Chicago. No joke.
AndrewJStone - July 1, 2009
But that $50 thing is Mayor Daily level redic.
OUCH.
AndrewJStone - July 1, 2009
depending on what you buy it can be higher right?
I could have sworn the coke I bought had a 15% sales tax. I know the receipt was itemized for tax based on what I bought.
LT - July 1, 2009
Yeah.
Gas is bad, we have some of the highest cigarette prices in the country… on and on and on.
AndrewJStone - July 1, 2009
sales tax? really.
no wonder my dad continues to live in the suburbs. :-)
LAcarl519 - July 1, 2009
Is that just in LA County, of all of CA?
Jimmyeatworld - July 1, 2009
Fuld!
Apparently, it is legal to put a player in the grass portion of the field behind 3d and SS that hustles. Who knew?
Goat Whisperer - July 1, 2009
