1) Erin Andrews is a newsmaker here. The jokes about her and Micah, for one. Lou made comments about her attire and that caused a minor kerfluffle.
2) I found this to be a galling invasion of privacy, and actually, quite chilling that someone could set up shop outside a hotel room door like this. I wanted to talk to others about it and you guys are people I interact with every day.
Just because someone is relevant to BCB doesn’t mean anything/everything about them is relevant content to be posted here.
2) is debatable. I don’t agree with your logic here. Yes, it’s a galling invasion of privacy, and quite chilling, and despicable, disgusting and lots of other things. Still don’t see the relevance of discussing it here though.
its been huge all day except to Dunn. a lot of these umps that start with big zones early shrink their zones throughout game.
and it is just awful umpiring to change strike zone throughout the game from inning to inning to batter to batter. and he has had smaller zones to the better the hitter and the later the game goes on.
But here is how the 8th went. Heilman in, one pitch one out. A walk to pinch hitter. a single by njyer morgn and error by milton allowed runner to get to third. so first n third one out. And walk to nick johsnon on 9 pitches – a lot were very close including ball 4. So with bases loaded one out and Ryan Zimmerman up with Adam Dunn on deck and only a 6-4 lead Lou went and got Gregg. Gregg got lucky cuz he threw a fastball right down the plate that was crushed deep to the warning track in right. Just missing a grand slam. But runner easily tagged to score 6-5. Morgan also tagged to 3rd. so two outs 6-5 morgan at 3rd and nick johnson at 1st. Adam dunn walked to load bases up again. this time bases loaded for Josh Willingahm and gregg was ahead 1-2 but count went to 3-2 and willingham fouled off two 3-2 pitches. and than gregg got him to chase good offspeed pitch that he hit weakly to Aramis right down the line that backed up Aramis. Aramis was too far away to simply tag 3rd since it was 3-2 count 2 outs and runners moving. his only chance was to throw quickly with his momentum taking him away from throw. so the throw was really long and he had to rush. he short hopped it big time. BUT D LEE MADE A HELL OF A SCOOP TO SAVE THE LEAD THE GAME AND EVENTUALLY THE WIN. A GREAT PLAY. AND WE ALL WENT NUTS. Sorry for the long post but hopefully re-created the tension and nerves and than the excitement. cuz heilman was nibbleman and gregg just missed giving up grand slam.
and Derrek Lee started and set up the 3 run home run by fonzi.
D-Lee started the inning with ground rule double on a bullet into left field. Let us not forget A-Ram’s bullet after that to get him on base and put two men on for fonzi and his crush job. Hopefully that bomb will get him going. Also to see him crush one with such authority to right center. That was no doubter to oppo. But he did miss a hanger right down the plate in his next at bat. Oh well lets get him hot going into Philly and he can pepper those Left Field bleachers.
Baseball season’s underway
Well you better get ready for a brand new day
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.
They’re singing …
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.
They got the power, they got the speed
To be the best in the National League
Well this is the year and the Cubs are real
So come on down to Wrigley Field.
We’re singing now …
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.
Baseball time is here again
You can catch it all on WGN
So stamp your feet and clap your hands
Chicago Cubs got the greatest fans.
You’re singing now …
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today
Go, Cubs, go
Go, Cubs, go
Hey, Chicago, what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today.
It was great...really cool to relate to the friendly fans
I just realized that I may need to change where my computer is , cause I have it in another room and it takes me awhile to run back when the game’s on WGN …I have the MLB package for other games.
Well...like many fans here I've sweated through a lot of losing seasons...and not just missing the playoffs
So that’s a big reason I liked reading this site, when you can enjoy watching a losing game you know you have a good sense of humor. There’s usually something to like about watching a game to me regardless.
Man I was watching and i didn’t see Rammy use his bare hand…did everyone else see that real time? Sure was right that Fonty any other Cub would miss that

sue369 - July 18, 2009

Did I say that? NO!
But you with all your wisdom posted about it on this site for everyone to know about it. You’ve already sent people to look at it. Way to go!
sue369 - July 18, 2009
I didn't post a link

sue369 - July 18, 2009
It's definitely not right
cubsluver22 - July 18, 2009
Yes... because
they had NO control over their actions once I pointed it out.
Worf - July 18, 2009
Just what the hell
did you expect?
sue369 - July 18, 2009
that people would not be sick jerks?
i don’t have any issue with Worf posting news about her. He didn’t link. And clearly marked it as “OT”.
You pass sick news on to friends. At least… I usually do.
Allie - July 18, 2009
I guess we disagree
on this then.
sue369 - July 18, 2009
Reminder
This is a Chicago Cubs Baseball Blog
cubsluver22 - July 18, 2009
And we've talked about EA enough
for her to be Cubs connected, definitely sports connected.
Now, I personally wouldn’t have posted it… but the fact that Worf did and CLEARLY marked it as off topic doesn’t really outrage me.
People posted about when she got hit in the chin by a ball. That was just as unrelated… no one lost their minds about that.
Allie - July 18, 2009
Self-control?
Worf - July 18, 2009
Eh
We’ve talked enough about Erin Andrews for her to be sorta connected to the Cubs.
He didn’t link, he just updated news on her. The people who searched for it would’ve whether they heard about it from Worf or ESPN.
Allie - July 18, 2009
tell you what, my little furry friend...
…if you can give a good reason for posting it in the first place, I’ll quit hassling you.
At least on this issue… ;-)
ballhawk - July 18, 2009
Sure thing
1) Erin Andrews is a newsmaker here. The jokes about her and Micah, for one. Lou made comments about her attire and that caused a minor kerfluffle.
2) I found this to be a galling invasion of privacy, and actually, quite chilling that someone could set up shop outside a hotel room door like this. I wanted to talk to others about it and you guys are people I interact with every day.
Worf - July 18, 2009
1) is a Fail.
Still don’t see the relevance of discussing it here though.
ballhawk - July 18, 2009
Because we discuss things here?
I mean, isn’t it that simple?
Worf - July 18, 2009
all things?
so you’re saying nothing is off limits?
ballhawk - July 18, 2009
Within reason
I think this had to do with sports, with celebrity and with privacy and it outraged me to the point that I wanted to vent.
I deleted it. Maybe now I’ll stop getting the blame for other people’s issues.
Worf - July 18, 2009
This is a Cubs blog
Not all thing sports, not religion, not politics, not the obituary, not little league baseball, not anything. Chicago Cubs Baseball Blog period!
cubsluver22 - July 18, 2009
people post things all the time
worf clearly marked it as “OT”.
Allie - July 18, 2009
Still don't take away the fact...
That this is a Cubs Blog
cubsluver22 - July 18, 2009
sure it is
but that doesn’t mean no one should ever discuss anything other than the cubs.
and if it does evolve into that, i won’t stick around the off topic random stuff is what makes this place worth it.
Allie - July 18, 2009
There is OT all the time
And your credibility on this topic is very lacking
Worf - July 18, 2009
You posted it
cubsluver22 - July 18, 2009
Maybe.
unless you’re a gun dealer in real life… ;-)
ballhawk - July 18, 2009
Not trying to get involved here, but...
… nice use of kerfluffle!
AndrewJStone - July 19, 2009
And you should
delete the thread on it.
sue369 - July 18, 2009
I did
Do you have anything else to say to those who looked at it?
Or is the real issue that I posted it and not what was posted?
Worf - July 18, 2009
I told one on here
that I found it sad that he watched it.
sue369 - July 18, 2009
Yes, that was really scalding
You found it “sad”
Worf - July 18, 2009
I found it disgusting
that you made a fanpost about it.
sue369 - July 18, 2009
So...
Sad that someone LOOKED at it
Disgusting that someone TALKED about looking at it.
Nice priorities.
I think the real issue here is me. That’s what is “sad”
Worf - July 18, 2009
You really have no
right to question my priorities. I find the whole EA situation disgusting.
sue369 - July 18, 2009
So did Worf
thats why his post was about how outraged he was. And about why he wasn’t going to post a link.
Allie - July 18, 2009
and again
this isn’t the place to discuss these subjects. This is a Chicago Cubs baseball blog

Greggle - July 18, 2009
Come on Gregg
We need 3 outs here. Preferably in the non-nauseating style.
slcathena - July 18, 2009
So how much of that mess last inning was on Gregg?
I missed all but the very end.
Allie - July 18, 2009
Not much, actually.
He came in with the bases loaded and one out.
Heilman walked the bases loaded after getting an out on one pitch, but the inconsistent strike zone also made things worse than they were.
Vermont Cubs Fan - July 18, 2009
well thats shocking
heilman made a mess of things? how unheard of.
Allie - July 18, 2009
ya seriously.
MandMexpress12 - July 18, 2009
glad i missed it
sounds like i would’ve been swearing.
Allie - July 18, 2009
The walk definitely was
slcathena - July 18, 2009
None
I believe he walked 1 guy Adam Dunn, the first batter he faced had a sac fly that drove in a runner but wasnt charged to Gregg
Eric16 - July 18, 2009
Nothing besides a walk.
The only run scored on him was a sac fly from an inherited runner.
Sandberg's evil twin - July 18, 2009
it was Heilman's mess

Ace Venom - July 18, 2009
and Derrek Lee started and set up the 3 run home run by fonzi.

I just realized that I may need to change where my computer is , cause I have it in another room and it takes me awhile to run back when the game’s on WGN …I have the MLB package for other games.
Sandberg's evil twin - July 18, 2009

glad to know you enjoyed it though. :-) winning game threads are way more fun and worth it. losing ones are ugly and very unfriendly.
Allie - July 18, 2009
Well...like many fans here I've sweated through a lot of losing seasons...and not just missing the playoffs
So that’s a big reason I liked reading this site, when you can enjoy watching a losing game you know you have a good sense of humor. There’s usually something to like about watching a game to me regardless.
