Lou came out. talked to him and after that talk. blanco nodded his head ran to first and lou patted him on back.
Conversation probably went something like. I have no other second basemen. You have to stay in the game unless you want me to bring in a butcher into second base.
parece que todos los equipos se hospedan ahi. Hace un par de aƱos fui a visitar a christian gomez ahi. cuando jugaba para el dc. Conocido de mi primo de barrio
Winning yesterday would have been a hell of a road trip. but 5-2 road trip. you take that every time. esp with koyie hill in lineup. Harden looked good on trip. Marmol looked good. hopefully see rammi and fonzi get it going some more.
Now, what I'd like for someone to explain to me is this:
why is THIS Cubs team less likely to make more appearances then YESTERDAY’S Cubs team?
You can’t put this off to it being a poor opponent this time. We sucked against them on Monday, nearly fought them to a standstill yesterday, and beat the crap out of them today. Why do people think that yesterday’s team is the norm?
ReJo 1-5 with 1 RBI, 1 walk.
Riot, 3-5 with 1 walk and 2 runs scored.
Lee 1-3 with 1 RBI, 3 walks, 2 runs scored.
Ramirez 2-4 with 2 RBIS, 2 walks, 2 runs scored.
Bradley, 2-4 with 1 RBI, 1 walk, 1 run scored.
Soriano, 2-5 with 1 RBI, 1 run scored.
Baker, 1-3 with 2 RBIS
Fukudome, 1-1
Milton Bradley has only had a mulit hit game 11 times this year
The last time Theriot stole more than one base in a game was April
Ramirez has been hurt for a long time
Soriano has been MIA for almost 2 months until this last week.

They are throwing the pitches, they shouldn’t be walking guys.
Itchy - July 22, 2009
but it's not

Oh please
I’d be swinging for the fences too.

Ace Venom - July 22, 2009
9 to 5 and remember the Phils ain't the Nationals...
If only this were the first game of the series
eths - July 22, 2009
if only we could have scored 2 runs yesterday.
MandMexpress12 - July 22, 2009
Or scored a run off Lidge yesterday.
Jody Jody Davis - July 22, 2009
Could have happened if that ball hadn't gone right in Lidge's direction
Ace Venom - July 22, 2009
maybe. rollins was there anyways. only difference was aramis would have been safe at 2nd. so would have been 2 outs aramis on second.
MandMexpress12 - July 22, 2009
The double play ruled out that possibility
Ace Venom - July 22, 2009
Theriot has come back from 0-2 to work count full. 3-2 after almost getting hit. here comes slider low n away. think RF

MandMexpress12 - July 22, 2009
DLEE needs a homerun

0/12 stands but gets BB and RBI on top of that.
MandMexpress12 - July 22, 2009
I'll take it
sue369 - July 22, 2009
me too. lidge has no control. if theriot didn't swing on 3-2. he would have walked in a run 2

drewishdrewid - July 22, 2009
My dad and I have this running joke.
That there is an actual seat belt in Ron’s seat. They need it in the 9th inning otherwise ron would start pacing and get so antsy he would walk out.
MandMexpress12 - July 22, 2009
aramis pops out ot Utley. inning over. FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELTS EVERYONE.

He entered the game with the tying run at the plate, so he gets the save, even though when it ended the Cubs were up 5.

5-2 road trip
I predicted 4-3. I’m right even when I’m wrong.
Ace Venom - July 22, 2009
I do not get that last line.
MandMexpress12 - July 22, 2009
Good win. Solid road trip, overall.
Made up at least 1.5 games on the trip – can’t complain about that.
Bill Potter - July 22, 2009
But some will.
sue369 - July 22, 2009
I know.
But if Houston wins tonight, then the Cubs are 1 game back and 1 game up in the loss column – even better.
And with the teams coming to Wrigley, this team, as flawed as it may be, has a chance to be in first by the end of the Cincinnati series.
Bill Potter - July 22, 2009
That would be great.
sue369 - July 22, 2009
is that amazing
or what? :)
drewishdrewid - July 22, 2009
sure can't.
Winning yesterday would have been a hell of a road trip. but 5-2 road trip. you take that every time. esp with koyie hill in lineup. Harden looked good on trip. Marmol looked good. hopefully see rammi and fonzi get it going some more.
MandMexpress12 - July 22, 2009
FLY IT!!!!!!

Cubs Win
lexmarklover - July 22, 2009
.........Cubs win ............. cubs win ................ cubs win................. cubs win
lexmarklover - July 22, 2009
13 hits, 10 runs scored, 9 walks and only 6 Ks.
This is OUR TEAM.
drewishdrewid - July 22, 2009
because yesterday's team has made more appearances than this team over the course of the season
WanderingWanderer - July 22, 2009
really?
our record is 48-45. Obviously the winning Cubs team has appeared more often then the losing Cubs team. Surely you can’t argue with THAT statistic.
drewishdrewid - July 22, 2009
we have won a majority of our games thanks to great pitching
while the offense has been sub par most of the season. Even you should be able to admit that
WanderingWanderer - July 22, 2009
of course.
nevertheless, I continue to wonder why today’s Cub’s team isn’t celebrated and expected to be duplicated.
drewishdrewid - July 22, 2009
it is celebrated
and I’ve already explained why it isn’t expected to be duplicated, as has SWL
WanderingWanderer - July 22, 2009
Probably because...
Milton Bradley has only had a mulit hit game 11 times this year
The last time Theriot stole more than one base in a game was April
Ramirez has been hurt for a long time
Soriano has been MIA for almost 2 months until this last week.
But I’m glad everyone contributed today.
santoswoodenlegs - July 22, 2009
Anybody here?
To track the Cardinals-Astros game with me?
Vermont Cubs Fan - July 22, 2009
I'm tracking on my own too
CubsBullsBears - July 22, 2009
I'm here!
What a 9th inning by the astros. hope they can pull it out!

CubsBullsBears - July 22, 2009
What a beautiful sight!
Vermont Cubs Fan - July 22, 2009
We may wish that we never rooted for the Astros to win
louslovechild - July 22, 2009
They're making a mini run here...
But their pitching doesn’t scare me.
CubsBullsBears - July 22, 2009
They have money to spend.
Can you freakin believe that a 4 game series with the Astros at the end of July means something?
louslovechild - July 22, 2009
Then let's beat them badly next week.
In all four games.
Vermont Cubs Fan - July 22, 2009
All for it
Harden v. Wandy “freakin” Rodriguez
Z v. Oswalt (very cool)
Wells v. Hampton
Lilly v. Ortiz
Should be interesting. (These matchups are pending the non-change of both teams current rotation)
louslovechild - July 22, 2009
Yeah...
… I was really conflicted for this game. Didn’t want the Astros to stay hot, but obviously didn’t want the Cards to win either.
