thats good to see. do you know what his velocity was?

milb gameday
Doesn’t have speed and break on the pitches.
wrigleyrocker12 - July 29, 2009
I hope Rebel Ridling makes it.....
… if for no other reason than that’s a great baseball name.

This is the first I've noticed Craig Muschko's name.
That’s a pretty impressive outing for Daytona. What’s his story?

Drafted in 2007
Not much out there on him. Native of PA, went to LaSalle. Did some stints in Mesa, Peoria last year, and Daytona this year. I couldn’t really find anything about what pitches he throws or velocity. Mostly that he was a reliever, but seems to be now transitioning to starter.
Anyone else notice that 2nd round draftee DJ LeMahieu got the bump up to Peoria already. I’d thought he was drafted as a guy that would grow into a position. He played mainly 2b for LSU this year, but he has a big frame and may grow into 3b. Interesting that he has already been moved up to A ball. I don’t know if that means they’ve settled on a position, or if they just were trying to clear up a logjam?

Just to clarify, you're describing Muschko in your first paragraph, correct?

Muschko 2
Muschko was a Qb for the Lasalle Explorers, had a shoulder sugrery in college and has slowly been getting back arm strength and have read that his fb velocity was anywhere from 87 to 92 and his slider is a pretty good pitch to go along with his change. Thats all I’ve read in the last two years.

Muschko again
Was drafted in 2007 as a 22nd rounder and will be 24 in August. Given the time he spent getting his arm strength, maybe he’s coming around like they thought.

with dj
he’ll be spiltting at bats with Junior Lake and Ryan Flaherty up the middle. No room in Boise, as they (rightly) want Watkins and Lee going pretty much every day.

It appears Jay Jackson has been sent to Daytona.

What would be the purpose of that demotion?
Jackson’s full-year numbers look fine at AA – has he really struggled lately, or is there some other purpose for demoting him?
D98 - July 29, 2009
Who is coming up in return?
CHCOWNTHECENTRAL - July 29, 2009
Odd demotion if true for Jackson
Didn’t see anything official yet. He has good numbers at AA. 49.1 innings 3-2 record with a 3.10 ERA. 26 walks to 50 strikeouts. The last three starts have not been good. 10 earned runs in 13 innings. Not good, but that is a small sample to be sent back to Daytona. If there is something specific he needs to work on, I would think he can work on it just as easily in Sevierville as opposed to Daytona. Interesting.
