Is it over yet??
2 more innings

So 3 more Pirates runs, and we can go to bed

we are still within a touchdown
Throw it to Hester
my dinner is going to come up
Is it left-handed?
Dropping a DH to the Pirates at home-WOW!

Someone needs to tell the Cubs the season did not end yesterday.

Pretty pathetic.

Shut. Down. Everybody!
I think that is what happened
Technically, it did
Won't be using *that* side to breast-feed tonight...
Game over

U-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-gly.

Well that was ugly...

… can the rest of Chicago’s baseball season be canceled due to indifference?

Lou thought it did a month ago
This is not a good team
Get over it

They were out of the playoff picture as of yesterday. There’s no point to bellyache now.

They have been out of it for weeks. They were just finished off yesterday

I guess you were still believing in them yesterday morning

If so, he wasn't alone here.

“Keep the faith.”

A fool's hope

I didn’t really have any hope left after that bad August.

Well, the Tigers won. They can clinch Thursday afternoon. :)
So, nine wins for Carlos in 2009... at $18,750,000 this season.

In case you are wondering, that’s:

$2,083,333 per win, or
$1,562,500 per month, or
$360,577 a week, or
$51,370 a DAY…

Carlos starts roughly every 5th day- from February through October.

And he doesn’t feel like working out and doing his exercises? Hmmm.

In fairness, I’m not just picking on Carlos. Lots of other MLB players have huge contracts and less than stellar production and results. Still, it’s a pretty good deal for him, eh?

And you thought you wanted to be a major league General Manager. Silly rabbit…

Sick numbers, true

But if you really want to make yourself sick, look at what CEO’s are paid (compensated). And next time you get a bill bounced by an insurance company take a look at what insurance executives get.

Carlos is a conundrum, but one helluva talent. I’d like to see him rein it in at times but that burning passion is no doubt what fueled his rise to where he’s at today. He’s an amazing talent and that talent is rewarded well. However, I’d bet he’d be exactly the same if he were playing in a 16" bar softball league.

You definitely have a point with the CEO payment thing.

I know this isn’t the place for this subject, though. I suggest you read Jim Webb’s “A Time to Fight” to see his comments on CEO pay (and the example I would have given).
