For only the third time since 2002 (2003 and 2009 the others), we will have a World Series that will go at least six games. This one's been good, too; three games not really decided until the late innings and the one blowout did at least have the Albert Pujols Show to keep it interesting.
The last game at Rangers Ballpark before it heads back to St. Louis will be tonight. One of the teams will be ahead three games to two. Will it be the Cardinals behind Chris Carpenter or the Rangers behind C.J. Wilson?
Last night's winner, Derek Holland, is a big-time tweeter. Worth following, I'd say.
Full game details after the jump.

Game time for Rangers/Cardinals: 7:05 pm. CDT. Series tied 2-2. TV: Fox. Announcers: Joe Buck & Tim McCarver (get your mute button ready).

i bet the Cards win tonight
… Carpenter is a big game kinda guy and Wilson isn’t…especially with free agency on his mind. Hope i’m wrong tho. Go Rangers!

OUR LAST NIGHT WITHOUT THEO AS OUR GM
I’M GONNA CELEBRATE WITH A SPOTTED COW
dtpollitt - October 24, 2011
Yeah, but Theo's not going to be the GM. Jed Hoyer is.
jeffmills1972 - October 24, 2011
Details.
dtpollitt - October 24, 2011
actually shouldn't one celebrate with chowah tonight
deep dish pizza tomorrow night?
Madison Cub Fan - October 24, 2011
ha!
I’ll be watching the game from New Glarus tonight. Had a pint at the brewery this afternoon and will be drinking Moon Man.
mph3 - October 24, 2011
Yeah, well I'm in Kansas.
So Spotted Cow down here is at a premium. Requires me to (1) be in Wisconsin, (2) buy it, (3) not drink it immediately, and (4) hide it from thieves.
dtpollitt - October 24, 2011
I've been able to find Goose Island brews in Metro West Boston
It’s awesome to see it so widely distributed. Matilda FTW!
Clutch16 - October 24, 2011
Also helps that Anheuser bought Goose Island a few months back.
mikeschieve - October 24, 2011
True dat
Haven’t noticed a drop in quality, tho. I hope I don’t
Clutch16 - October 24, 2011
me too.
Although it would be odd if 312 wasn’t actually brewed in the 312 area code.
mikeschieve - October 24, 2011
I was wondering where you were located. #3 gets me every time.
I’m traveling back to Chicago tomorrow and need to make room for cases for myself, family and friends. A popular brew.
mph3 - October 24, 2011
I live about half an hour from there
In my 11 years here, have never been there.
Madison Cub Fan - October 24, 2011
it's a nice town and the brewery is cool
worth a trip. Be sure to stop by Puemple’s for a pint.
mph3 - October 24, 2011
I'm not much of a beer fan
But we normally have some in our fridge. Brennen’s lets you mix and match your 6 packs.
Madison Cub Fan - October 24, 2011
what's her name??
daily2b - October 24, 2011
should we all celebrate at Starbucks
Cubbie-Tim - October 24, 2011
They have the reproduction of one of my paintings
hanging in their new brewery (it’s a painting of some spotted cows of course). Sorry, just had to brag there. It’s my little claim to fame.
katie casey - October 25, 2011
Would a rainout
delay the Theo presser?
timh815 - October 24, 2011
FYI, Strat-O-Matic Baseball did a replay of this World Series.
Albert Pujols hit three homeruns, Josh Hamilton hit .375 and the Rangers won the World Series in six games.
jeffmills1972 - October 24, 2011

Clutch16 - October 24, 2011
Maybe not PC,
but I think I can pull of a bingo with the set muted. Nice

daily2b - October 24, 2011
You left out
Someone from a new hit show sings te Anthem way too slowly.
timh815 - October 24, 2011
I got "LaRussa makes an unnecessary pitching change" in bottom 8.
Brings in a righty to intentionally walk a guy, then goes to a different righty.
The Deputy Mayor of Rush Street - October 24, 2011
hilarious
DCCubsFan - October 24, 2011
Did anyone else see the rumor that Ryne Sandberg reportedly was on a flight to Chicago?
It might not be anything, but has this been confirmed?
jeffmills1972 - October 24, 2011
Sorry for the double post.
jeffmills1972 - October 24, 2011

daily2b - October 24, 2011
There was also a Facebook post on The Denim Lounge's page that said Sandberg was in their store today buying jeans & shirts.
Hmm…could it be?

baseballguru589 - October 24, 2011

jesus christos - October 24, 2011

3 innings was more than enough
Madison Cub Fan - October 24, 2011
No kidding!
Tim “State-The-Obvious” McCarver
DCCubsFan - October 24, 2011
TLR
Slowing down the game to take the wind out of their sails.
Ace Venom - October 24, 2011
Did he really just bring a pitcher in for an ibb?
slcathena - October 24, 2011 via mobile
Yep
That’s TLR for ya.
Swoosie - October 24, 2011

Meh. This is marmol
slcathena - October 24, 2011 via mobile
This game has convinced me
that people who think Tony LaRussa is a genius are morons.
Also, if Ron Washington and Tony LaRussa can manage a team to the World Series, almost any manager can.
Josh Timmers - October 24, 2011
is that an endorsement for quade?
jesus christos - October 24, 2011
I very carefully said
“Almost” any manager.
Josh Timmers - October 24, 2011
Can you qualify that as Competent?
Endrick - October 24, 2011
Not after tonight's game
Because I don’t think you could call what LaRussa or Washington did as “competent” tonight.
Josh Timmers - October 24, 2011
I like Ron Washington.
dtpollitt - October 24, 2011
That's only because
he keeps intentionally walking you.
Josh Timmers - October 24, 2011
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Swoosie - October 24, 2011
win!!!!!
slcathena - October 24, 2011 via mobile
Rangers win!
Now the Rangers just have to complete the journey on the road.
Ace Venom - October 24, 2011
it's theo time
jesus christos - October 24, 2011
Really cool to see Berkman run that out.
I don’t think a lot of players would have. He’s always been a class-act in my book.
dtpollitt - October 24, 2011
I can haz press conference?
Endrick - October 24, 2011
Oh yes
Just one more win Texas.
AussieCub - October 24, 2011
Just saw a replay of the Beltre homer
Anyone else remember Bobby Murcer pulling that move? (even if he was generally going to a knee while swinging at curveballs in the dirt)
The Deputy Mayor of Rush Street - October 24, 2011
Hey Theo...
If you’re reading this can you get a no Tim McCarver in the booth negotiated into the trade when the Cubbies make it to the WS?
Endrick - October 24, 2011
For those of you hating McCarver,
Posnanski describes the same.
dtpollitt - October 24, 2011
Kemp and Bautista have to be leaders in the clubhouse for the MVP, right?
http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20111024&content_id=25774346&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb
dtpollitt - October 24, 2011
Kemp is
I don’t know about Bautista. The media seem to keep coming up with reasons he’s not “valuable.”
Josh Timmers - October 24, 2011
Well, Ellsbury and Kemp should win.
dtpollitt - October 25, 2011
The reason the Rangers won tonight is elemental
Sodium
Polonium
Lithium
JOVE23 - October 24, 2011
Thank god the Rangers won... now bury the Cards for good!!!!!
SackMan - October 25, 2011
Was it a
happy flight tonight? LOL
PhillyCub - October 25, 2011
