Just wondering if anyone had information on when construction on the bleachers would begin and if anyone could get some photos of it. When the bleachers were redone a few off seasons ago, there were new pictures every day. It'd be cool to see, I actually like the way the mock ups look
Morning everyone, I've tried and failed the past few times to make it to opening day at Wrigley, I'm embarrased to say I haven't been in the confines since the magical 2008 season. This year, after not taking a vacation in 10 months, friends and I have decided that this is it, we're doing it. We're flying in from all corners of the country to fullfil a mildly achievable dream of ours. Since none of us have attended an opening day game, we're looking for some info listed below. Any extra information or suggestions is greatly appreciated. Pre-game activities/traditions such as morning activities in Wrigleyville on the 5th? Post-game activities? We're also attending the Saturday game, and since we haven't been in the area in years, is there any decent lodging located near by? Again any helpful tips/rec's/advice is greatly appreciated and I'll see you guys April 5th!
On MLB Network tonight, their new trivia show called Baseball IQ will air at 9:30 ET/8:30 CT. Go Cubs Go!
The March 9 game vs. the White Sox will be on WGN-TV, with the Sox announcers. Added to the spring broadcast schedule here.
Is this the roster that we'll see in one month? I think pitching is set but I feel there will be some minor tweaks along the way. Anone else ready for spring training?
Will the Cubs really play Barney all season? There don't seem to be many options out there, especially with good defense. It seems strange to me that Theo and Jed haven't commented at all about the position this offseason, at least not that I've seen.
Turner, the Tiger's top pitching prospect, is the biggest name I've been hearing in regards to the Matt Garza deal, which is apparently past the initial trade talk stages. I really can't find much about him other than stats, which are great but can be flawed based on the league the player is in, how old he is and how old most players are in that league, etc. If we do pull the trigger and Turner is the big prize, does anyone know what to expect? How soon could he be in the rotation? What kind of stuff does he throw?
1. Of the young or youngish new Cubs who are you most confident in fulling his potential? 2. IS it just me or would anyone else rather win 70ish with a young team full of promise than win 80 with an old team going nowhere? 3. Is it just me or does anyone else have not only confidence in THeo/Jed to get this thing put together but confident that when it comes time and they need a few free agents and money to complete the team Ricketts will go ahead and give it to them?
The Fielder situation just kind of seems odd to me. No new rumors, nothing.
